Maraba is a good place to start life
That's nasarawa . And I don't think they have good light there. And the only reasonable place in maraba is abacha road.

I'm planning to relocate to Abuja next month, that is January 2025, after completing my undergraduate study in one of the neighboring states. I'm confused about the best, most affordable place to stay.

My major needs are security, electricity, nearness to town, and affordable housing. I have been looking at Kubwa and Lugbe, but I would appreciate some input from Abuja residents here.

Note: I am on a budget. So, places like Asokoro, Utako, etc are out of it. Secondly, I'm a freelancer; hence my need for an area with a steady electricity supply.

So, where in Abuja would you suggest and why?

Why is everyone talking about power supply and no one is asking about security? I would have thought that should be top on the list of considerations for a relocation.

He's A SOUND Advice
If you are considering lugbe make sure it's an estate, if not don't bother renting an apartment not in an estate, demolition is eminent, same goes with kubwa, in fact, there are satellite villages inside the metropolis, avoid them with all your strength.

Now hear this, if you want to stay close to town and considering your budget, karu site and jikowyi phase one is your sure plug, karu site is very close to town and there light is constant too, the vibe karu site give is same like inside the metropolis ,

Again, don't you ever rent a house that is not situate inside an estate in Abuja especially lugbe and kubwa

quote me to give you a tour as soon as u arrive here, Welcome to my city,
cool
Karu Site is accessible via Abacha Road or Mararaba bridge junction in Nasarawa state but connect enroute to Jikwoyi...That's where City College is.

I always go there for private lessons.

THELATTERMAN:
Thank you, boss.

How much do you think a self-contain apartment in an estate would cost especially in Lugbe and Kubwa?
You'll pay enough cash to secure a self con in those estates.

Hold at least N650k.

They have stable power supply. City College Area is also very okay and affordable. Abacha Road and City college are better than Kubwa and Lugbe in my own opinion. It's closer to the town, cheaper, and safer

A lot of people are talking about how Kubwa is a fast-developing town in Abuja. Does the place get a steady supply of electricity?
Kubwa do not have good light...Most people there are relocating to Arab Road and Kagini based on the fact that there's light there.

Maraba is a good place to start life
Mararaba is infested with street urchins who are mostly Hausas.

That place is like Ajegunle.

I stayed at Orange Market for five years, then moved to Nyanya, then Kubwa. Presently, I stay at Asokoro, by Pastor Fatoyinbo's Church Guzape.

I've connects for self con in my area... It's N600k with steady light in the highbrow area of Guzape, Asokoro.

Best answer so far grin grin
From his talks on TV, just go to any of the satellite areas not in his radar..
Experts can let you know where..
Otherwise, demolition is imminent

Go for Lugbe. It's nearer to town, most places have stable power supply, housing is affordable and security is okay in most places. Kubwa is okay to but farther from town
Lugbe house cost there, I advise you to go to Kuje, house cheap there and steady light.

What an advice to give to someone.

You shouldn't pass out your experience as a law anyone should live by.

Being unfriendly towards people doesn't pay anyone. Drawing boundaries is key to fostering healthy relationships.

You never can tell when he would need help from his ‘poor” neighbors in the ‘poor’ environment.

If it was a rich environment, his neighbors would be his friends, I presume.

Life is a gift.Use it judiciously and make impact.

Thquote author=BigDickProblems post=133282733]

As a freelancer, look for a cheap area, get a cheap Solar installation that can be charged also with Nepa, and that can run your laptop for long hours and power your fan, gadgets and other low energy appliances. Be careful of your neighbors too (since it’s a poor environment), they are not your friends, don’t form any familiarity with them (only good morning, afternoon and good evening) and just mind your business. Cheaper food and all that are some of. the advantages.[/quote]

Since u are a freelancer, what are u coming to Abuja to do? It is same life everywhere, u just want to expose yourself to unnecessary spending. Why not get a solar & continue your freelance while u plan on how to develop your house in your current location? If u are not coming to Abuja for a job, I don't see any need to come. House rent in abuja is expensive.

I'm terms of safety abacha road is perfect. And going to some places in town from there is straightforward and cheaper than lifecamp to town.
