We Are Supporting, Not Owning Abia Airport - Governor Otti (Video) by Metrix147(op): 12:23am On Dec 14, 2024
Governor Alex Otti has reiterated that the proposed Abia Airport is primarily a federal government project, with the state government providing the necessary support to ensure its successful execution, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cff8u_zjPAY

He clarified this during the December edition of the monthly media briefing tagged "Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians."

Addressing questions on the state’s involvement, Governor Otti explained that the project is not a joint venture where parties co-own the initiative and share responsibilities equally. Instead, the Abia State Government’s role is limited to facilitating and advising where needed to enhance the project.

“The airport is largely a federal project,” Otti said. “What we did was to intervene to say, ‘Instead of doing this, why don't you do this?’ And if you need us to contribute, we are happy to do so. But it does not mean that we own the project. No.”

The governor further disclosed that the primary difference between the federal government’s initial plan and the state’s input lies in the length of the runway, highlighting that Abia State’s suggestions aim to optimize the project for better outcomes.

Governor Otti assured Abians that the airport project is on course and will be completed as planned. “Rest assured that the project is going to take off and is going to be delivered,” he affirmed.

You talk as if you don't know the federal gov't can claim a project or resource through 'constitutional' means! The Owerri airport that Imo indigenes built, does it belong to them?

Ownership shouldn't be a problem it should be FG owned project since they are going to fund it.
Let them deliver international standard airport that is my own.

Your brother don't know that it is the Federal government led by the Jagaban a Yoruba man that is building the airport.
They have being bragging, chest beating and insulting South western states.

Some of them said even a witch from Edo cannot land in Osun state.

The State governor is clearly stating here that the FG owns the project.

But because you are dispointed you still have to say the Federal government is claiming to"
Is this the FG speaking here or the governor of the state....

So the Abia state governor will be carrying out such aassive project and lie that it is a Federal project?
How did some of you come to be. Some of you came out of anus not virginal
The governor just said his state is not the one running the project.....

How did I come out of a country majorly dominated by deaf animals....

Una just like to dey defend rubbish. The unlettered mumu you’re defending like prime Sergio Ramos asked a typical mumutic question, asking who would fund a project that the governor unequivocally called a federal government project.
The Governor stated that his government is only supporting the project yet a dunce was still asking who would fund the project.
Also, who claimed the Dangote refinery was Tinubu’s effort to reduce fuel? People who praised Tinubu particularly praised him for making an enabling environment (the Lagos free trade corridor) available for the project because the place where it’s built was his vision birthed a long time ago. Una no Dey ever gree get sense however small it may be. Swallow your opinion bcus I don’t engage Osus. You’re ignored🤝

The Dangote project wasn't even originally planned to be sited there, it was after refusal that he was pleaded by Lagos government to bring to that location...... there's nothing spectacular that he grabbed land to himself have been cornering investors there.
We are not daft and it's too early to start arguing with a hydraulic soup lover....away

Governor Otti should just keep quite already.

The truth is that Yorubas are not happy with the good news coming out from Abia.

The Imo airport built by the then Imo state where even children in kindergarten of those days paid levies to build was taken by federal government. So let the same federal government build this one and take it too. Rubbish and ingredients.

Federal government builds all infrastructure in southwest Yoruba states after all.

Another Tinubu project in the SE

They were already attributing it to EluPee

Alex Otti’s heart is clearly in the APC

In 2027, y’all will see exactly what I mean

Expand your horizons and educate and enlighten yourself.

A state airport belongs to the state. But the airspace and movement of all flights in Nigeria belongs to and is managed by the federal government.

So when a state builds an airport, especially an international airport it knows it will be managed by the federal government especially an international airport. That the federal government manages the operations does not mean the airport has been “taken over” by or is now owned by the federal government.

Sam mbakwe airport is the 1st state owned and remains a state owned airport jointly owned with Abia state.
