Governor Otti should just keep quite already.

The truth is that Yorubas are not happy with the good news coming out from Abia.

The Imo airport built by the then Imo state where even children in kindergarten of those days paid levies to build was taken by federal government. So let the same federal government build this one and take it too. Rubbish and ingredients.

Federal government builds all infrastructure in southwest Yoruba states after all.
A lot of ignorance here, federal government do not just take away airports, it is the state governments that hands it over to them because airports are largely none profitable.

The FG had no right to take over a state owned assets so try to be educated before you come to the public.

Lol

Una fit own am before?

Landlocked 1/5 plot.

The only thing they know is propaganda & gaslighting
The federal government has never built an airport in the southeast of! Left for me Abia state should just build their airport...without Nigeria's badluck ! See the new Enugu international airport terminal.....that Jonathan concieved...kano, Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt have all commissioned their own terminals years ago but Enugu's own is yet to be completed 14 years later...........for a Nigerian president to call a part of the country he governs a dot in a circle ....speaks volumes and says it all....so calling southeast 1/5 plot is not a surprise........we have felt your hatred and humiliation for 54 years... .Ndigbo have been traumatized by Nigeria but God pass una!

Arrant nonsense, you dont want to praise the FG because Tinubu the president most you hate and just like Buhari who build the second niger bridge. I can conclude bitterness is an inheritance. Kudos to Otti for saying the truth. Since Buhari time and till now, federal government has been providing for you people but still hate them. What the Obasanjo and Jonathan did in terms of infrastructure in south east that is better than what Buhari and Tinubu doing. From second niger bridge to airport.

The State governor is clearly stating here that the FG owns the project.

But because you are dispointed you still have to say the Federal government is claiming to"
Is this the FG speaking here or the governor of the state....

So the Abia state governor will be carrying out such aassive project and lie that it is a Federal project?
How did some of you come to be. Some of you came out of anus not virginal
The governor just said his state is not the one running the project.....

How did I come out of a country majorly dominated by deaf animals....
They are ashame to praise the federal government because they have made the world to believe that the FG has neglected south east. Same people didn't even bother to praise Buhari who gave them the second niger bridge that they have cried for, since Obasanjo and Jonathan time. Araria market was light up by same Buhari they hate so much. Ask them to name any project attracted by Jonathan and Obasanjo they love so much in south east under their presidency. For now, Buhari has done better for south east than the past president. Tinubu is about to give them an international airport.

While the bridge was under construction even when everyone could see work going on.
They claimed the bridge was propaganda, they said nobody was working on the bridge....
I heard some of them said they will never use the bridge.....

The Dangote project wasn't even originally planned to be sited there, it was after refusal that he was pleaded by Lagos government to bring to that location...... there's nothing spectacular that he grabbed land to himself have been cornering investors there.
We are not daft and it's too early to start arguing with a hydraulic soup lover....away
Since there is nothing spectacular, why did your state government not pleaded with dangote or other companies to come to your state. After the initiative of free trade zone by Tinubu, Obasanjo and some governors copy it. Go and see the free trade zone in ibeju lekki before you talk nonsense. Tinubu created enabling environment. Those communities are made forever. Do you know of the number of employees from that community. Yorubas dominated dangote refinery.

Expand your horizons and educate and enlighten yourself.

A state airport belongs to the state. But the airspace and movement of all flights in Nigeria belongs to and is managed by the federal government.

So when a state builds an airport, especially an international airport it knows it will be managed by the federal government especially an international airport. That the federal government manages the operations does not mean the airport has been “taken over” by or is now owned by the federal government.

Sam mbakwe airport is the 1st state owned and remains a state owned airport jointly owned with Abia state.
The Abia airport is to be funded by federal government and that means they own it. Otti support maybe ease of purchasing or donating state government land to the FG. Don't talk like an educated illiterate. Some of you igbos are just angry that the Tinubu you hate so much, has now undergoing an airport in south east. Same thing was extended to Buhari about second niger bridge. Bitterness would take you people to anywhere cause it will always end in premium tears, agony and depression.

A gathering of crass bigots! See as these traditional Igbo-haters are falling over themselves to try and get a jab in....thinking they've seen a opening! shocked

Dudes, let me reiterate....or should that be explain things better so your bigoted and Igbo-hating brains can assimilate: UNTIL IT IS SPELT OUT IN BLACK AND WHITE AND UNTIL GOVERNOR OTTI SAYS SPECIFICALLY THAT THE FEDERAL GOV'T IS PAYING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE AIRPORT, I WILL TAKE IT THAT IT'S THE ABIA STATE GOV'T THAT'S PAYING FOR IT! Y'all talk as if we don't all know this is Nigeria where 1+1 doesn't necessarily equal 2...a place where the abnormal becomes the norm! Anybody that expects me not to be cynical when it comes to Tinubu/APC and their interactions with Ndigbo and the south-east, is one naive person who is yet to fully appreciate the level of bigotry, hate and ethno-religious drive that inspires politics and governance in Nigeria! From the late 60s to date, the Fulani/Yoruba hegemonic alliance have ensured Ndigbo regularly receive the short end of the stick, and y'all expect me to just wake up one morning and all the cynicism and mistrust i have for them will dissappear and i'll start taking them at their word!? C'mon!

The 2nd Niger bridge some bigoted schmuck made reference to....construction on it was stopped as soon as the Igbo-hater-in-chief Buhari snatched the keys to Aso-Rock in 2015, and work only resumed few months to the 2019 elections just so he and you Igbo-haters on here can have something to point to as 'proof' that Buhari and APC are 'fair and love Ndigbo'! shocked Same bridge that the GEJ gov't paid up taarty billion (apologies to Davido) before they were mugged in the presidential elections of 2015, and which work had already begun on when Buhari took over! Same bridge that the design was scaled down (the rendering the GEJ gov't put out showed it was to have provision for a rail track) and which the Buhari gov't said would be tolled. Same bridge we were told numerous times the Abacha loot was recovered that part of the refunded loot would be used to fund the 2nd Niger bridge.....through this 2nd Niger bridge the Buhari gov't had found a convenient way to deceive western gov'ts who approved the loot refunds by making them think said funds would be 'accounted for and used for specific projects'! Till today, that bridge is yet to be completed!

You all are furious at my cynicism and wondering why i'm not jumping for joy and popping champagne, when the international terminal at Enugu IS STILL LEFT UNTOUCHED 18 MONTHS AFTER TINUBU TOOK OVER THE BATON OF OPPRESSION FROM BUHARI!? The terminal has been left for the Enugu state gov't to deal with, meanwhile Tinubu can find 15 trillion naira for a coastal road project that wouldn't touch the south-east! As we speak the int'l terminals in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano were not only completed, but had their scope of work expanded when Hadi-Sirika sought for and got extra-budgetary approval for their expansion! You all wouldn't see the injustice in all this because you have been programmed to see Ndigbo as your 'conquered slaves' who should be grateful anytime you deign to throw a few scraps our way!

Tinubu remains a mandate thief, incompetent, and a nasty crass bigot! It will take more than propaganda to change all that....dude needs a miracle!

Buhari stopped second Niger bridge untill he wanted Abacha loot from US, that was when he was told that mon3y will go directly to second Niger bridge. These Yorubas don't know Igbo influence in global politics

Metrix147:
Governor Alex Otti has reiterated that the proposed Abia Airport is primarily a federal government project, with the state government providing the necessary support to ensure its successful execution, ABN TV reports.
He clarified this during the December edition of the monthly media briefing tagged "Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians."

Addressing questions on the state’s involvement, Governor Otti explained that the project is not a joint venture where parties co-own the initiative and share responsibilities equally. Instead, the Abia State Government’s role is limited to facilitating and advising where needed to enhance the project.

“The airport is largely a federal project,” Otti said. “What we did was to intervene to say, ‘Instead of doing this, why don't you do this?’ And if you need us to contribute, we are happy to do so. But it does not mean that we own the project. No.”

The governor further disclosed that the primary difference between the federal government’s initial plan and the state’s input lies in the length of the runway, highlighting that Abia State’s suggestions aim to optimize the project for better outcomes.

Governor Otti assured Abians that the airport project is on course and will be completed as planned. “Rest assured that the project is going to take off and is going to be delivered,” he affirmed.
