JIREN01:Ahhh.this is just a 3m house o. Even if you pay 600k down, you go still get around 13-14k mortgage payments. Even a 2m house with a 150-200k na still around 10k mortgage plus phantom costs fit reach 13k-15k. A dentist I know lives in a 5m house and he only paid 800k down. That will be a whooping 24k in mortgage payment monthly Oyinbo no dy send.. |

So this madness has entered Canada.... Kids looting stores in broad daylight. Some of these kids are children of immigrants. I'm sure their parents also said 'we doing it for our kids, we moved to Canada so our kids can have a better life's See better life in action. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDRjzbQoYfd/?igsh=MTRvdHZsZ2w4M2t5bQ== |

AirBay:With all honesty, Real Estate prices are over-inflated in Canada and it's sad nothing is being done about it, all the so-called solutions they are using to fix the problem are not even addressing the issue, not to talk of fixing it. The mansion you'd buy in so many parts of the United States with that big money is so mind-blowing yet all you get for that in Canada is a relatively small house. I visited a friend in his house overseeing the Ocean and despite being a remote island with a tiny population, the house costs over $2m. This is madness!

Afolavid:Madness my bro. An aunt of mine bought a 750k usd house in TX equivalent to around 1m cad..... The house is almost 4000sqaure foot, has a swimming pool, the yard is as wide as a 1700 sqft laned home in Calgary. 1m in calgary may only get someone a 2300-2500 sq ft, not only is it at the far end of the city but you and your neighbour can surely have a hand shake or exchange a bottle of wine through your side windows Real madness I would say.Ontario and BC are at another level. Toronto people may God help una. ![]() |

Another store being looted in Toronto 3rd within a week. Staff attacked and hit by a hammer when she tried to stop one of the thieves. Canada gradually turning to another 3rd world cesspit. SIRTee15:First this, SIRTee15:Then this. You must really have self esteem issues if you describe yourself this way. Those kids are Canadian and just like all races are not exempt from a few being delinquent. They offer no apologies for being Canadians in same way a white American today offers no apology to indigenous folks. You should learn to live as a free being and not have a servile mindset - living the rest of your life believing you owe anyone eternal gratitude for being in Canada. Crime should be condemned and addresed - not painted with racist stereotypes |

SIRTee15:You're one of the "3rd world cesspit". "That's what happens when U bring 3rd worlders like you without restrain." |
| Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by SIRTee15: 6:28am On Dec 16, 2024 |
jedisco:I want a clean , safe and working society for myself and my kids. Or is that not why U all ran away from your home country. What's the point running to Canada and then turning the place to another cesspit U escaped from....where would U run to again? What's the point if your kids grow up in Canada and realise the place now has all the myriads of 3rd world problems? What then is the point of all your sacrifice. In case U don't know, that's what is happening to UK right now. Check this Canada thread, most are immigrants from UK who felt UK has nothing much to offer anymore and jumped ship to Canada. Even UK native citizens are running away to Dubai or Australia since the country has been terribly mismanaged with unrestrained migration as main culprit. I don't owe any nation any gratitude. But I don't want to live in a country where stores are being looted in broad daylight or people get stabbed on the streets just to steal their phones. That's where Canada is heading to with this clueless Trudeau in charge, and pragmatic residents- native or not, have the right to voice out their concern. Daylight looting in Markham Ontario. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Erj0Wi8yaP0?si=GGVpc9viCNwUwTZj |

SIRTee15:Lmao! Somehow, I could help but read that in JD Vance-ish kind of tone. You are getting there gradually. And after you arrive, you'd hardly notice that anything has changed about you. It's the unconscious progression of the comfortable immigrant. From the Kemi Badenochs of this world pleading for votes in 2015 as a semi-progressive to the same Kemis cuddling with conspiracy chief JD Vance and espousing "anti-woke" ideas. It's subtle, but it creeps. |

Good day my people. I’m not sure if this has been answered before ( if it has been dealt with before pls forgive and direct me to the right answer). I was wondering if it’s possible to drive in Nigeria with a Canadian driver’s license? |
| Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by MayorOfEdmonton: 12:01am On Dec 18, 2024 |
iwinosajack:It’s probably possible, the big issue I think is there a huge difference between possible and practicable/obtainable in Nigeria. Imagine you were stopped by Nigerian police for no justifiable reason and you tendered a Canadian drivers license. In their head “market dun come”, so expect to pay significantly higher than their going “show your brothers love” rate. Alternatively you may consider getting an international drivers licence from FRSC (#20-30k) If stopped you can claim it’s for temporary use as you couldn’t get a date for capture & of course grease their palms and you’re all smiling. OR like most people do, have a trusted relative/friend drive you around and pay them weekly or after your stay. As sad & pathetic as it sounds you’re better off keeping your dual citizenship undisclosed to Nigerian police IMO. Cheers |

MayorOfEdmonton:this might even save you because they know it may attract wahala. Last time i was in Nigeria around oshodi i was looking for somewhere to park to buy something. I saw an okada enter a street and i followed. Next thing two officers appeared and caught me for one way. I was with my expired 9ja license and Canada licence. Their aggression changed when they saw the Canada license o. Last last they began to beg and said i should find something for the boys😂. They even had a pos operator working with them and collected 5k. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBIunJ2Ud4w Hello folks. I watched an interview of Mr. Tunji Bello on Arise TV, (Minister of Interior) where he was insisting (from around the 18 minute mark on the video) that the contactless passport process has already been launched in Canada etc. The idea is that for renewals, you wouldn't need to visit the High Commission in person to process it from start to finish. I cannot find any information on the High Commission's website lending credence to this claim. Has anyone has been able to use this new passport renewal method without having to physically go to Ottawa (The High Commission) for any part of the process? |

SIRTee15:I am surprised you are looking to push such despicable self-hating narrative on this fora. You can call out crime or discuss immigration sensibly but calling migrants criminals is something I would take you on. I wonder who made you the gate keeper of Canadian immigration. First you need to understand that the strory of mankind is one of migration and thats not going to change. 1. Before talking about the UK- you should get some knowledge. By almost every metric, the UK is much stricter than Canada when it comes to migration. I don't know how much you know about Canada either but it would interest you to know that about 50% of Canadians are of British descent. You fail to understand how the average Brit sees the world. The British have always migrated - the only difference is that when they do (as they have done for centuries), they see it as a birthright but when you do, you see it as a privilege. 2. Nigerians/Brits moving from UK to Canada or back is not news. People have moved in both directions for centuries as they saw fit. That would not change because you dont like it. I also know a few people who despite being granted a Canadian PR decided it wasn't worth it and remained back in the UK. It would also interest you to know that I am also unapologetically in the process of moving of moving to Canada as a British citizen. With time, I might also leave as I see fit. If you have a problem with Nigerians/British citizens coming over, you need to start looking for another country. 3. Lastly, if you think UK is in a 'sorry state', then you should thank immigration for it not being worse. The average migrant contributes more to the society than the average Brit while taking less. This is by the governments own figures and has been the reason why the every UK government over the last 20yrs has been unable to stop migration despite it being very easy to do. In all, I would want to know- do you really see yourself as a different grade of migrant (or house n** as it used to be known) because you arrived Canada earlier than others?

What's the x factor in getting a job here in Canada? Skills/Courses? Education/Degrees? Experience? It's tough being an international student here. I'm likely to get a remote job from Nigeria than getting a physical job here in Ontario. Even menial jobs aren't available, or am I doing something wrong? |
