DaddyCoool:First off, I am not up in arms. I am saying white people are not respectful of indigenous pronouncements in places they conquered, I am not taking about their own words. In Australia for example, they changed Uluru rock to Ayers rock for example. |

aswani:You are being disingenuous. Many, many words and proper names are angliciized, yet you happily use them. ONLY when it comes to Ibo does it become an insult. Do you think Jesus, Joshua, John, are real Hebrew names?? |

DaddyCoool:I think you are confusing me with someone else as I never said anything was an insult. All I have explained is why it could be Igbo not Ibo and given examples. If people with anglicised Hebrew names you stated above correct me on the spelling and pronunciation of their names. I will happily comply. |

aswani:I did confuse you with the other fella. But you're still being disingenuous. No matter how much Hebrews complain, you know you're not changing Jesus |

DaddyCoool:So what are Hebrews complaining about the spelling or pronunciation of Jesus? |
| Re: Anambra Won $120 Million Overall Best In Primary Health Care In Nigeria(photos) by DaddyCoool(f): 11:42pm On Dec 14, 2024 |
aswani:Both. There is no "j" or j sound in Hebrew |

DaddyCoool:I was not aware of this in truth, however I am confused as to what this has to do with Ibo corrected as Igbo. |

aswani:Same way you happily write James and John and Awka without being harrased, you ought afford me the courtesy of freely writing Ibo or Igbo as I deem fit! |

DaddyCoool:you are a blatant idiot and despicable irritant. So it's the white man or you a non-Igbo that will tell an Igbo man how to spell or pronounce his tribe?. You're an irredeemable retard |

shizzleStar:First of all I'm reporting you and getting you banned so you'll learn a lesson in politeness. Unfortunately for you it is NOT close enough to Christmas for me to not do it - unless you ask me not to in your next post. Secondly, I OBVIOUSLY have never even almost come close to telling anybody in the world how to spell or pronounce his tribes's name. I simply write Ibo because it is shorter and easier and had never been considered an insult to Igbos. DaddyCoool: |

DaddyCoool:Since you prefer to be incorrigible, except whatever insults thrown at you. Any Yoruba person who says it's easier to write and pronounce 'Ibo' instead of 'Igbo' is a criminal. The diagraph 'gb' exists in the Yoruba vocabulary which is used daily when speaking Yoruba language. It is inexcusable for a Yoruba person to feign ignorance of the insistence of Ndigbo that our language, people and land be properly spelt as 'Igbo'. Pretending not to know that Igbo is the correct spelling doesn't exonerate you from being called to order. Persistence in such indulgence tells a lot about your personality especially as it shows how dense you are. |

DaddyCoool:I didn't harass you, all I did was provide a historical context as to why it might be Igbo rather than Ibo and give other examples. If a Jewish person was called their equivalent of James or John and corrected me, I certainly won't call it harassment. No one can force you to do anything here, except the mods, much as you can't stop people having an opinion on what you write. |

DaddyCoool:accept corrections ....stop being daft There are languages you pronounce the way they appear which as African languages and Spanish or Latin languages Psychology isn't African language ...get correction ...it's Igbo not Ibo It's yoruba not Yoruba |

Yujin:Don't mind the clown. If they can pronounce Ijebu Igbo Ogbomosho Oshogbo Then they can pronounce Igbo....just that many of them are daft |

ariesbull:Soo, which language is Awka? And Onitsha? And when has anybody ever called Yoruba Yoruba? See how you can't post y-ariba - it autocorrects to Yoruba! |

aswani:Of course you didn't harass me. It's that other guy. But I can assure you, no matter how many Jewish corrected you, you're not about to stop saying James, John, etc |

Yujin:I'm a criminal because I prefer to write Ibo rather than the longer Igbo? Why not also call me a criminal for preferring writing Ibos rather than Ndigbo. And Xmas rather than Christmas (despite all the preaching I've received on the subject)! |

ariesbull:Has any of those ever been called anything else? Ibo and Igbo have always been used interchangeably without anyone regarding it as derogatory or an insult. See how you can't post y-ariba no matter how hard you try - it autocorrects to Yoruba! |

DaddyCoool:Again you are an iredeemble rëtard You don't even deserve a civil or polite response for being so blatantly stupid. I corrected you politely initially thinking you had common sense, but you displayed you folly when you chose to argue like the morõn that you are. You insist on the wrong spelling because it's shorter shows how incorrigible you are I'm not surprised that this nonsense you wrote made sense to you, the fact that you keep arguing blindly confirms your undeniable idiocy cum stüpidity Don't quote me again |
| Re: Anambra Won $120 Million Overall Best In Primary Health Care In Nigeria(photos) by Yujin(m): 5:33pm On Dec 15, 2024 |
DaddyCoool:You can pretend all you like but it is the people who own the name that will dictate how they want it spelt at least. How you pronounce it can be excused due to 'tongue' challenges. You Yorubas pronounce 'gb' differently from how most Igbos pronounce it so even if it is slightly different, it is still accepted. What we won't accept is people like you continuing with spelling it wrongly. The government of Turkiye recently came out to tell the whole world how they want their name to be SPELT. How you pronounce it may be excused but now, only Turkiye is accepted. In the same vein, Ndigbo have stated severally that Igbo is how we spell our name. It is not subject to your whims and caprice. It is OUR name NOT YOUR name. I repeat it that you're a criminal if you insist on spelling it 'Ibo' even after you've been corrected severally. |
| Re: Anambra Won $120 Million Overall Best In Primary Health Care In Nigeria(photos) by aswani(m): 7:28pm On Dec 15, 2024 |
Yujin:Are you sure it is the "gb" pronunciation that's different? I know the intonation (I.e. amin in Yoruba) of the syllable(s) before or after is. For example, a Yoruba man will say the word Ndigbo by default as "mi do mi" when I believe it should be "mi mì dó" which Yoruba purple are capable of pronouncing. My point is gb is gb anywhere. |
| Re: Anambra Won $120 Million Overall Best In Primary Health Care In Nigeria(photos) by DaddyCoool(f): 8:31pm On Dec 15, 2024 |
Yujin:Yet you keep writing John, James, Jesus, etc, when it has been severally made abundantly clear to you that neither letter J nor sound of it exists in Hebrew. You can't dictate to anybody how to spell a name. Example, the Turkey that you mentioned. See below

| Re: Anambra Won $120 Million Overall Best In Primary Health Care In Nigeria(photos) by Yujin(m): 6:28am On Dec 16, 2024 |
aswani:I'm not talking about intonation here. The pronunciation of 'gb' by MOST Igbos is more explosive than how Yorubas pronounce it. If you listen attentively, you'll pick up the difference. 'Gb' pronunciation can be slightly different not by any specific word but culturally. Exactly the same way the letter 'n' isn't stressed in Yoruba when it ends a word but most Igbos do stress it when pronouncing 'Ibadan' or 'Osun'. As you can see, it's a cultural thing. This however, isn't the point of my argument on the discussion. |

Yujin:I wasn't involving myself with what you were dragging with the other poster. I was intrigued by the "gb" stuff which I thank you for taking time to explain but don't fully agree with. |
| Re: Anambra Won $120 Million Overall Best In Primary Health Care In Nigeria(photos) by Yujin(m): 7:41am On Dec 16, 2024 |
DaddyCoool:The issue of John, James, Jesus etc are issues of transliteration which happened from many languages down to present day English language. The English popularized those names in the various countries they colonized which led to their proliferation today. Those names are even used in the English Bible. However, most of those names ended up being changed whenever the Holy Scriptures was translated into any other language. For example, Jesus in English Bible became Jisos in Igbo Bible and Jesu in Yoruba Bible. Even in the Arabic world, many different countries and cultures spell Mohammed differently as a result of transliteration. In the case of hateful people like you, spelling Igbo as 'Ibo' isn't a case of transliteration. 'Igbo' as a single word exists in the Yoruba language. You can spell 'Igbo-ora', Igbomina, Ijebu Igbo etc easily but find to spell 'Igbo' (the name of another ethnic group) to be long. It clearly shows how devious you are. I could learn from you and start spelling Yoruba as Yeribad. After all, like you wrote, you can't dictate to everyone how to spell your name. This now brings me to the Turkiye issue. The UN and US government have accepted to start officially writing Turkiye in formal documents. This is how it should be. Hateful goons like you can persist in referring to them as Turkey.

Yujin:Transliteration ko, transmanipulation ni. Point is, it boils down to the same thing - everybody spells it the way it suits them, the way most convenient for them. Ibos were happily called Ibos and were very happy with it. It is convenient for ME to keep calling them that, NOT Ndigbo. Yoruba and Ijebu Igbo were never called anything else. As for Turkey, you're lying again. You know full well we'er not talking of "Officially" because "officially" has nothing to do with what most people call them. See it below again
