Good one from the Benue State Governor, there's no better way of tackling insecurity than State policing where the people get to secure their own homeland constitutionally.

The useless SE Governors have yet to map out a joint regional security plan for the SE region to address the UGM menace, the state police bill must be signed next year so that every region will be forced to sit up and deal with their insecurity issues uniquely.

At the very least they should be equipped with arms, ordinary State owned vigilantes across the North are equipped with assault weapons to combat banditry and terrorism...na only for South the rules dey different. Certain issues are too deep for public consumption.
But let me ask you a question.
Have you realized that there are no kidnappings in Benue, Or hijacking of communities or banditary.
These guys just come kill people and leave, not a pin has ever been recorded missing after the attacks and nobody is ever kidnapped and ransomes demanded for.

We have terrorist cell in almost every state, if you think it's state police, you are wrong, state police will be under the federal police and that will just add an extra layer of bureaucracy.

My solution.
The only way is to dismantle the present police structure, send everyone to their state of origin, they do proper checks and assign them as needed with no federal oversight.

Efcc can be upgraded to an investigation organization and empowered to hurt down cross state criminals.

My point is, the present police can't be incorporated, it has to be dismantled.

Benue is not dealing with terrorism and the governor cannot with say that with a straight face.

They just go, kill and leave.
They don't take a penny or a grain of salt, they don't kidnap anybody.

There is a FG road that nobody passes, the road is now abandoned because of war for the last about 3 years. it not herds men. Remember a time the army went for peace keeping and a village killed them burnt their Hilux and then buried their bodies in shallow graves? Ortom the governor then came out to say the army went and leveled the village for no reason, unfortunately Nigerians believed. That is a governor lying instead of calling the kings and elders and fixing the problem.
Now tell me, will this new outfit stand on every stretch of this road and not get killed when a village will kill Nigerian Army soldiers and bury them in shallow graves??

If we want to stop the killings in Benue. first let every community with Fulani settlement tell their youth to stop raping fulani girls and killing the fulani man's cattle and sharing the meat...
It is chrismas now these youths are already arranging to go into the bush to attack the Fulani man and his family to kill his cattle steal some alive and rape his daughters,
The fulani man doesn't have a phone, he is not on social media, he cannot call the press to come hear his story.

When he goes for revenge in January/February every media house will be present in the villages. Nobody says anything when it happens to him.....

Notice that the attacks in Benue are most marchet cuts and never gun shots.
Notice how this cuts are. That is revenge. They are not bandits, they don't steal.

The army knows the truth that was why they killed that boy that was on his way to the government house for amnesty some time ago. He had battalion of youth who follow him for cattle rustling....

Lets keep fooling ourselves and not do the needful.
