Army check in SE started during the time of GEJ and when Gen Ihejirika was COAS and at that a notorious kidnapper known as Osisikankwu has overrun Aba and environs and people were relocating from Aba en mass due to this criminal activities,as a result our people begged GEJ and Ihejirika to beef up security in SE and especially Abia state.That was how the military check points came about and soon Osisikankwu was murdered by the military.Our people lobbied for it and got it.
The number of check points should be reduce and not totally removed.
