Most of the things Kemi complained about from her childhood and teenage experiences before she finally left Nigeria in 1996 for her A-levels in Wimbledon, London (where she was born in 1980) as an impressionable teenager of 16-years of age happened right under the corrupt military dictatorships.

A lot of posters here on this thread who are NOT well-informed about historical events and timelines WRONGLY think she's attacking the current political leadership BUT Kemi's direct past personal knowledge of Nigeria comes from the late 1990s as a teenager and she has schooled and lived permanently in England ever since.

Just this February 2024, Kemi even LED a powerful British trade delegation to Lagos State and Abuja on a 3-day visit as the then British Minister of Business and Trade to boost international trade ties between the UK and Nigeria. If Nigeria is worthless to her OR just a poor country like she stated in this video, she would NOT have visited Nigeria which happens to be the BIGGEST African trading partner with the British. Period.

In my opinion that was a totally needless rant,the question was her opinion about the British police,using her personal experiences to the British police is myopic especially when she said when she hears people complain of racial bias against them by the British Met but she feels it's exaggerated gives us the perfect picture.

Personally I do believe that her brothers shoes and watch were stolen,even tho it's kinda laughable but I believe her because it's possible,I however have my reservations for her downplaying racial bias from the British Met,she has no right selling her sob stories and at the same time refusing to believe the story of others....na so winch dey take start.

The story was so laughable that the moderator had to repeat it again....she covered it up with the narrative oh well it's a poor country anything is possible.


However in diplomatic circles Nigeria is not regarded as a poor country amongst her peers,besides such choice of words shouldnt be coming from a diplomat of her Calibre,no nation is regarded as a poor country,perhaps emerging economies is the right word just like the same way any sane diplomat would rather avoid calling a blind man disabled but rather people of determination or physically challenged.

As a diplomat she seems to flippant and uncouth,the Nigerian police is corrupt yes,however the British Met is not an infallible institution either,using your personal experiences with the Nigerian police to pitch the British Met is unbecoming of a would be leader,your personal experiences differ from that of others and must not be mistaken as absolute facts.

I also have my reservations about her saying the police would rob us,she made it look so commonplace,I have no doubts there are cases of cops who are robbers in Nigeria which is not peculiar to Nigeria alone,I think the right word should be extort,based on my own experience the Nigerian police are big into extorting yes...but robbery very possible but not as commonplace as she rightly narrated.

Unfortunately a lot of people do not realize Kemi is not advocating for a better Nigeria,as far as she is concerned she is British and could care less,she is only using Nigeria as the door mat in her desperate plot to be MP,she is the type of person that doesn't want more black faces as immigrants to the UK so they won't have access to the type of opportunities she has benefitted from,only small minded people need to denigrate their origin to seek approval for better opportunities nevertheless I wish her good luck in her travails.

Honestly, it’s not like what she’s saying about our NPF is a lie, but she can’t attribute one bad case of police irresponsibility on the entire force, that’s really bad and derogatory.
