Nice song fr About the lyrics Yeah Apart from the little repetition at the beginning that sounded weird. And some places that may not go well with some church doctrines(e.g "sold my soul to him". To an average listener anywhere in the world, the lyrics would sound absolutely nice and inspiring About the sound quality Well It's Average Your Kick and Bass would really not translate in most systems because they are mostly sitting in the sub frequencies which would only translate in large sound systems and HeadPhones. But for an average listener who is scrolling through TikTok or Facebook and hears your song for the first time through the phone or a crappy earpiece, it won't sound that nice to them as the previous songs they have been listening to. The Lead Vocal sounds thin. Yeah. It's only more prominent around the 2-3k and 5k region which can even sound harsh in some systems. The String pad at the background sounds nice and moderate. The Hat sound is thin also. Summary Good lyrics. The song has a potential to be replayed by anyone who listens especially in the (youthful bracket). It can't really compete in terms of mix quality outside your studio. I mean, if you listen to Industry mixes(imagine this song was done by Beyonce using the same stems, the way it would sound) But on the bright side it won't be that noticeable by an average Nigerian. Most Nigerian songs really don't have that Industry standard anyways(except the Big Shots, think Wizkid,Burna Boy). However,if you are thinking of your song being heard everywhere in the world.Mixing it towards the Industry standard is important. But,I like the vibe of the song fr 😇♥️💙 |

Sirmwill:Hey,thanks a lot for taking the time to respond, Sirmwill. it means a lot to me. About the lyrics Repetition is kinda my thing lol. Hope I didn’t overdo it though. That line Yeah, it's just me being edgy. I wont do that in most of my songs. maybe... ![]() Thanks. I would be pleased if someone finds a phrase or line that inspires them daily. Now on the sound quality, I’m glad it’s even being called "average." That’s a big step up for me, fr. I actually struggled a lot with the bass. I couldn’t decide whether to pitch it an octave higher or not. The higher pitch felt jarring on my speakers, so I just stuck with the sub frequencies. I’ll definitely work on tightening that up, along with the thin vocals, in my next track. Thanks again, I’ll put even more effort into the mix quality next time. I want my songs to hit that top-tier standard. If you’re free, it’d be cool if you could review my next song before it drops. It’s a special one for me. Once again, I appreciate you taking the time for this. Much love! |

LordTosinJ:Ya welcome 😇 If repetition is your vibe, that's really cool 😇.Then you can do some interesting things with it. If you would have to repeat a line three times, then you can add some unique effects for each repetition . Maybe the first time with a long and bright(very high passed) plate reverb then the second time with a ping-pong delay with some distortion on your voice or on the delays then the third time with something lo-fi or weird like a Flanger or a Phaser or even both and maybe some weird tight ambience reverb and a stereo widener on it. You can even layer all the effects . I am just giving examples tho 🙃. This makes every time the repetition comes interesting and captivating. Do you get. Most people would just subconsciously want to hear that part again and again. "Every mix should have a moment no one expected" Every time you write a song, always see your target audience as the world and not Nigeria(at all) Most of their industry songs have these effects that you won't hear in an average Nigerian song. If your song would be acceptable, at least to their ears;it should have these effects ,especially because of the kind of songs they are already used to and the sounds(effects) they hear in them. That's also why I was talking about your kick and bass. This song you posted has a lotta Sonic space for the Kick and Bass to still be exaggerated and put up in the listeners face.(I would give you tips on this) About the Bass, you should'nt struggle with it that much . Its perfectly pitched as it is. You would only use EQ to shape it in a way that it would still retain the sub frequencies and still be present and clear 😇. Then the Kick, should be veeery clear and still have low end. This is typical of Modern pop music. Yeah I won't mind giving my review on your next song |

Just now, I listened to that Hausa song you posted just now You put a compressor (or maybe a limiter with a slow attack) on the mixbus that is been triggered majorly by the Lead vocal. The compression (or limiting) is very obvious. We should talk on Whatsapp? |
