Wow. Man, you are really killing it. 25k USD in one month is enough money. Jeez.

I have only made around $192 this month on Kindle. I did that with just two books. It has been my best month so far on Amazon. Haha. I'm happy. Considering it is passive income and I haven't done a new book since June.

Seems I should elevate this publishing thing as my primary business and take it seriously.

I only publish high content. When I first started, I try to publish 20k+ word books. Unfortunately, it was not sustainable. First, it requires a lot of effort for each. Second, some of then end up not selling well. Third, and this is the biggest, the printing cost is way higher and reduces my profit. So I start targeting 8k to 12k words now for around 100 pages.

Note: I'll write more if competition demands it. So keep that in mind.

If you are doing standard size 6 by 9, 12 point font, use between 1.15 and 1.25 never make your book 1.5

Not up to 20k. More like 15k.

For example, I may create a 100 page book and price at 8.99. If it sells well, I'll look at the top two books in the niche. In most cases, they'll be priced at 12.99 and above. If they both have like 150 pages or do, I may bump my to like 120 pages and price at 9.99 or 10.99. This is how I personally do it.

I ask because my second book should be around 10k+ words (give or take). I'm 98% done with writing it.

But I decided to craft a story around it to increase the word count.. and I've already written almost 1k+ words of the 5k words I planned to add to it.

So I decided to stop first and seek for advice from my bosses on here.

Should I publish it first, then add the words later, or should I write everything once, and publish together?


Note: I'm done writing my first book, but I haven't published it yet because I'm currently proofreading it (it's over 30k words), and I don't even know how to format sef talk more of designing book cover.
