Guys, I drive E320, 211 engine. Earlier this year I changed the transmission since then the transmission have been leaking fluid till it gets to half of the recommended fluid gauge before the the leakage will stop. I took the car to the mechanic that fixed the transmission, he worked on it and told me that the problem have been solved, just for me to discover that the leakage is still happening, last month I took the car to another mechanic, he removed the fluid in the car and discover that the fluid level have been reduced to half of the recommended guage. He repair the leakage and top up the fluid level, just for me to discover that whenever I am driving the car gear oil will be dropping while on motion. Guys please what could make a car to be dropping gear oil when the car is in motion?. Any idea of a good gear specialist in Abuja that can help me fixed this I will appreciate.

Check out the rubber seal... replace with original one. Then ensure that the bolts are tightened properly.

Scan it. That's a w164.

Scan results I got from my vehicle thats in limp mode, the gear lever doesn't go to park too until I turn off the engine.
Its a W211 with M112 engine with the 5 speed tranny.

Your transmission selector module is faulty. What kind of fault will be determined by your tech.

Thanks, I wanted a second opinion as the tech said my "rpm sensor" inside the gearbox is bad.

Well I will advise you drive that car and let the fault happen again. Then scan without clearing the codes. Post the raw codes or what is called current codes, what you have here are stored codes.... The current codes tells you real-time what's triggering the issues.

This code is basically saying something's gone bad in your gear . but you need to scan with the Mercedes Benz star scanner to get more accurate details - it's the only way to get a clear picture of what's going on ."

Thanks for this info, I finally change the rubber seal. Not a easy job as the gear box was dropped and disassemble. And it really cost me a furtune.

It isn’t unreal that’s just the cost for using a premium brand, we’ve replaced an autobiography’s rack for over a million, if I may ask sir, what brought about the conclusion on writing another rack ?

it's showing power steering assistance reduced and my mechanic checked with machine and said it's not reading at all which means 100 damage and replacement. What do you think

Hmmm, by not reading do you mean not being able to communicate with the power steering module/ steering angle doesn’t read any values when the steering wheel is turned.
Did you pass through flood recently/ had any work done around the EPAS.
If you probably passed through water then the rack might go bad also another check is to confirm that all connections to epas module is correct
Lastly is the steering wheel hard to turn too ?

Hmm, this looks more like a communication issues, I’ll suggest power, ground, can wires are checked properly before procuring another rack

Mercedes Benz is one of the best car you will enjoy. Those giving review of leaking sunroof only happens in a rare case and should not be used as a basic to judge all.

And the parts are reliable because it hardly have fake spare parts.
