The man in that video has been debunked as false.
If you knew the charging curve of LFP you won't say this. When charging from 3.39v sef to 3.65 is sharp upward line that could take only 3 minutes to attain. When discharging, LFP takes same quick time to move from 3.65 to 3.37 then begins an almost straight but long curve to 2.6 or below.
Keeping charge at 3.65v you are not only producing heat but putting it at the high threshold and risking overcharging errors. It's good to keep it far from 3.65v to be save from charger errors, and for LFP, be it 3.4v or 3.65v, it won't take 5 minutes to return it's sitting voltage of 3.31-3.37

Prowse is a human, he had made errors and made videos to correct such errors. He is not a demigod in solar. Most of the knowledge most of us based our argument on is via a 3rd party and not personal researched experiments.

Panel orientation, air flow, and cable length are super keys to output generation. My test pv of 190w bought used few years output average of 7a on a good sunlight. Pv : 38v 10a max and surprisingly during September before this dusty days, I experienced 9.7,9.8 and 9.9a max. I was surprised to see this though that I had to use a clamp meter to confirm and it was affirmative......Keeper's series powmr 20a mppt.

Yes they re both 12/20V panels with max current of 10. However the highest current I get from their parallel connection is around 4.5Amps-5Amps. The highest voltage is 14.8Volts.

I just did a quick test on both Panels separately around 4:50pm today. Here are my observations:

Africell 13.5V, 1.1Amp = 14.85Watts
Twin Tech 13.5V, 0.9Amp = 12.15Watts
Parallel connection of both 13.6V 1.6Amp = 21.76Watts


The connection should have given me 27Watts, but I’m getting 21Watts, which is very bad. What do you think of the whole thing?

are you sure your multimeter is okay?, the problem might be from cable...disconnect the cable and read from panel directly... you should get nothing less then 4/5amp from each panel

It’s a PWM charge controller that shows the readings.
This is from this morning:
Panel Reading by 9:00am
Twin Tech 12.5V 1.0Amp = 13.75Watts
Africell 12.5V 1.0Amp =12.5Watts
Parallel Connection 2.6Amp 12.9V =33.54Watts

Panel Reading by 9:26am

This is way too low for a 360Watts panel. What could be the issue here?

Well oriented, a short cable length: my house is a bungalow and the whole roof to my charge controller is not far at all. This is today’s reading using my PWM CC:

Panel Reading by 9:00am and few minutes later
Twin Tech 12.5V 1.0Amp = 13.75Watts
Africell 12.5V 1.0Amp =12.5Watts
Parallel Connection 2.6Amp 12.9V =33.54Watts

I love how you quietly skipped the main point I spoke about about the charging and discharge curve, but rather focused on easy trivialities.
Charging to full doesn't add any substantial extra minutes to your discharge in LFP tech.
And by 100% I mean 3.65v, and not just your BMS or other device telling you 100%.
My BMS is set to show 100% at 3.45v

Welcome fellow enthusiast.

1. Get a 48V inverter (3.5kva, 5kva, 6kva) for a 48V battery, especially ones with inbuilt Mppt charge controller.

2. Yes a 5kwh Lithium battery is more than sufficient to run that load especially considering your last note.

3. You're already good to go.

4. Get 2-4 600W (if possible, even higher wattage) Jinko panels. You can get from Fouani if they have in stock, I have 625W ones for sale and it's what I use to run my loads.

Note: I'm completely off-grid (been over a year now) and find even 8 of those specific panels an overkill. My energy needs is about 10 times yours and everything runs on a 15Kwh Lithium battery. The panels are that efficient and as a bonus you save roof space.

Roughly same tier. Depends on value for money. I'd compare the wattage and price of both then pick whichever is the more affordable one.

Don't know if it was Alaba labelled Canadian solar. Open circuit voltage with my dc meter is between 38 and 40v.

I think they are legit based on what I've read here from those that have. Doesn't hurt to do your due diligence.
The Canadian panels are a good choice in that case.

I have a 1.5HP Hisense inverter AC that somehow consumes about 1.25kw.

Does anyone know how to set them to a lower consumption mode?

For example, my LG 1HP AC drops down to about 570w on Gen Mode even at full blast. A feature like that on Hisense would be nice.

Never mind, did some experimentation and managed to have it run at ~650w (I have a load of about 200w aside the AC).

Good stuff. Set at 27•C on economy mode and chugging along efficiently. Obviously not super cold but more than good enough for me and most people I'd presume.
