Dear Meerahbel

I have about 15m I made from savings and my business. Should I start build a residential house for myself and family or invest it in TBills yearly and use my interest for rent and other basic expenses.

Pls I need suggestions. (PS: I have got a land for the building already)

15m isn't enough for a good residential house, I will advice you invest the money in Tbills and continue to generate more money from that your business till you are financially capable and stable to start building your taste abode.

Or

Use the annual interest from Tbills to pay your rent and start the building of the residential house till you finish it.
Keep doing your business and continue to grow the capital you put in Tbills annually

To maintain liquidity, ensure that ₦10 million is set aside as an easily accessible reserve. Consider investing this amount in low-risk instruments such as Treasury Bills, shares, or commercial papers. This will allow you to quickly access funds if needed for unexpected expenses or business opportunities.

Avoid tying up all your capital in a single building project, as unforeseen circumstances like job loss or business demands may require immediate access to funds.

It's best to invest, but not all the capital. I suggest u invest 10m into two different places

Start building your house. Personally I believe there's a certain financial stability and peace of mind that comes with owning your own home. After that you can push for more investments. It's also worthy of note the ever rising cost of building materials (so the earlier the better), and as well the possibility that your landlord can wake up one day and double or even triple your rent for no reason (which you may still be able to pay, or decide to move out, but you won't like either option).

I think building a house for your family residential will be a good idea

Building materials increases daily so start something with it and by the time you are done, your family will pack in and you stop paying rent

Then you start another plan for Plan B business as another source of income

Feeding and accommodation is the greatest need for a man

I read with keen interest in your response to the post about what you did in 2024. What got is your openess about the subject matter and now, I want to start that journey now.

I am interested in remote jobs that accept Nigerians etc.

What good source can you recommend?

What else can I do to have another source of income though as at now, I am bottom down with virtually nothing but willing to be mentored.

15m won't raise a residential building from foundation to carcass any where in Nigeria let alone turn key.

Building materials are extremely expensive.
