JASONjnr:25 years plus of his failed master plan for Lagos, complicated by his two years of bolekaja bookkeeper reforms in Abuja, has left people fighting for palliative bread to save their ebilokan lives from death by hunger and starvation. Glimpsetv: |

Lithiumite:So what is the progress update on your eight point agenda for Nigeria from August 29 2023 to date? Break it down in numbers. 1. food security; 2. poverty eradication; 3. growth, 4. job creation; 5. access to capital; 6. inclusion; 7. rule of law; and 8. fighting corruption https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp And the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026 https://www.nairaland.com/7821154/tinubu-sets-3-year-economic-revival

Lithiumite:Pointless. It does not have to take this long . Food inflation is still going up to the right, Nominal inflation rate is still untamed, after a year of applying the policy. Look at Argentina after a year of reform , and come and tell us why we should believe that things will improve soon. The mistake is saying to the press, subsidy is gone, yet we are still subsidising, saying the Naira is floating yet we are still defending the Naira. The size of the government , no check in government spending, we are spending like there is no tomorrow. It is one thing to say something, and another thing to be sabotaging oneself. No doubt some things are working, but it requires greater momentum to cause widespread positive effects

My fervent prayer is the gains are not wiped out by corruption. All Nigerian politicians must come clean and return their loot to the National coffers. We must amend our ways for the better! The lack of a National Spirit and Corruption are the twin problems bedevilling Nigeria. |

MadPolitician:Do you know how much concession china had to give to foreign investors to attract them.....yes the yuan doesn't float because China has a robust reserve to defend it just as the US does with the dollar.....I bet you would have had a fit if your Nigerian govt introduced the baby boomers policy like china found expedient at the time, what would you call that,a comfortable policy, right? Average Chinese at some point couldn't even own cars or houses but you want to feel overtly entitled to the easy life without putting in work..... people leave hectares of land in their villages and come to the cities to start riding bikes and keke, everyone wants to seat in air conditioned offices and no one wants to do the dirty jobs of industries. You encourage govts that were borrowing to pay subsidy so you could have cheap petrol so you can gallivant everywhere for some of the most unproductive reasons, borrowing monies in billions monthly to defend your naira so you can have cheap dollars to import everything including tooth picks and toilet paper..... remember GEJ and madam okonjo warned you that the economy was going to tank out the bottom if you continued with this frivolous lifestyle as a country......we were living a lie all along, Nigeria isn't a rich country. |

Bobloco:Yes, things are tough at the moment but there are signs that our economy is on the path of recovery. Our foreign reserve is now $42billion,$5b FX backlog paid, Debt -revenue ratio has really come down, 69 different loans obtained by successive administrations are being repaid and normalcy is gradually returning. Should we continue borrowing to defend Naira and pay fuel subsidy? |

Lithiumite:And T-Pain is using the increased government revenue to buy more luxury for himself and his cronies, while taking more loans and dashing out rice and bread palliatives since his bolekaja bookkeeping incompetence has failed to deliver on his promise of jobs. Nigeria’s lawmakers on Thursday approved the new government’s first supplemental budget, which includes huge allocations for SUVs and houses for the president, his wife and other public officials, sparking anger and criticism from citizens in one of the world’s poorest countries. |
| Re: Economy Responding Positively To My Policies —Tinubu by anonimi: 5:33am On Dec 19, 2024 |
kunle4toyeyaho:Debt has increased and continues to rise. Why is the deficit increasing in the budget since APC took over in 2015? Why has T-Pain failed to deliver on his short term promise of N300/$1 before reaching N200/$1 despite borrowing billions of dollars from Afreximbank to defend the Naira? Borrowing against future oil sales. The President-elect said he would work with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to bring down the exchange rate to N200 in his first term |

prickursense:The dynamics are different.Argentina 's economy isn't as disjointed and comatose as ours and you don't have the kind of ethnic and religious sentiments as we have here. Where would you have those huge number if civil servants go when your economy is in a terrible recession, keeping those civil servants despite majority doing nothing is still considered part of the latent welfarist policies of the Nigerian govt,no matter how annoying it is. I agree govt spending has to be checked as it's too excessive considering the limited resources available but they are all guilty and not just tinubu. There isn't any subsidy being paid currently in petrol as there is absolutely no reason to and also there isn't any currency in the world that's on a free float, those who tried it found themselves in hot water but it's foolhardy for any govt to over value it's currency when you do not have commensurate production capacity to complement it......doing such would be basically subsidising imports to the detriment of your own economy......we really need to get these 2 barriers out the way firstly so as to free up resources and channel into productivity. |

Lithiumite:I told you to stay away from China for a reason. I know them better than you! All you are writing here is trash. You know nothing about China. Do you know that the biggest banks in China are state owned? Do you know that the biggest telecommunications and entertainment outfits in China are either state owned or owned by state proxies? Do you know how deep the subsidies for agro related industries are in China? Do you know how subsidised the transport sector is in China, which makes it easy for new SMEs to run their stuffs effortlessly? Even to make calls in the 90s and 2000s in China, do you know that the government created a special cheap phone system for the poor called the "shilinton"? Just so the poor can call without worrying about the costs. Do you know how cheap it is to feed in China and how cheap the housing prices were in China in the 90s and 2000s? Special Chinese students that are so good in the sciences qualify for automatic Chinese scholarships, in special science schools. Do have any similar stuffs here? Have you been to China to see the magnificent growths as a result. How then can you use the extremely efficient Chinese set up to compare to this generational emberassment called tinubus presidency?? What are you smoking this early morning?? Like I said earlier; don't do that again! |

Both local and foreign companies operating in nigeria are declaring loses and some are shutting down and relocating.Unemployment rates are high.Hunger is everywhere..So why is the booming economy policy of tinubu not being felt by nigerians except Akpabio and Reno omokri who are feeding fat on jumbo salaries and bribe before screening ministers? Those European countries that are hailing Tinubu s economic policy should adopt same in their own countries let's see if there won't be a revolt among the citizens. |

Bankowner:Tinubu Should Not Be The One Telling Us,if his Economic Policies is Working, let People Say It,for they are Not the one who is in the Market. That he is saying it, means -its is not working, How can a Bag of Rice be selling for N100,000.? I went to the Market,Few days ago,the Smallest Ike of Groundnuts Oil is 3K- The Bread we bought for N700- during Buhari-is now N1,500.,so what is Working here? • Your CBN is just making life difficult - for the Poor, for no one can even borrow Money - at Banks-37%Interest Rate - since the base rate by CBN is 27%.We can see that the Govt- is trying to Satisfy the Foreign Investors - by Increasing interest rates, while the Local Investors and the People - are left behind. This is the same way of Old here but you need the Local People More , because if the People at home form the fulcrums of Your Investment, the Foreign Investors will have more Confidence for Multimillion to Borrow Money easily. Unfortunately,we are doing otherwise! Let all those in National Assembly - continues to Clap for themselves - afterall, they have Lexus Vehicles - and enjoy good Salaries and Allowances! |

They can not comprehend. It is beyond their reasoning. They still want Nigeria to continue the 'bolekaja' economic policies.Soja come, soja go. They will understand Tinubu policies after he left the stage. It's normal to have an economic downturn when radical reforms are being made....go read up on thatcher's policies in the 80s UK or Roosevelt's marshal plan during the recession years in America, better still China's backward reintegration policy of the 60s upto the 90s.....but look at those countries afterwards, there is no way we can move forward without these radical reforms.[/quote] |

When tinubu was on opposition he made it look like governance was easy and government was deliberately suffering the masses. Today as president he has emerged as the worst ever. Any improvements in economy that don't improve the lives of the citizens is meaniless and useless. Growing economy is not about increasing government revenues. Tinubu claims foreign reserves is growing, there is surplus is balance of payments, so why is your currency not improving, why are companies in Nigeria having low turnovers, why are companies not employing more people. |

israel90:Yes!! We are not procrastinators,we believe in him because he was the best by miles of the 4 candidates in the last elections......he already told us what he was going to do and he is already walking his talk.....obi and atiku also made subsidy removal and currency liberalisation a major plank of their campaign but we trusted tinubu more by being the most pragmatic of them all and the most prepared for the arduous task ahead. You can go ahead and properly your candidate for 2027,tinubu would defeat him again and again. |

In fact, you seem to be the only remaining BATerian who has yet to come to terms with the fact that Tinubu has absolutely nothing positive to offer Nigeria. Like the devil, Tinubu only came to steal, kill, and destroy, inflicting untold hardships, hunger, and starvation on Nigerians. |
