Now That South East Has Been Declared The Safest Place In Nigeria.......... by gidgiddy(op):
2024 is almost at an end and the South East has been declared the safest zone in the country.

So in 2025, we hope that the propagandists, the liers, the decievers, the political jobbers, the 5th columnists, the Biafran haters and all those who only remember insecurity only if it affects the South East, will face their area!

Everyone has their own security challenges, but you cannot be more Catholic than the pope! You have worse crime and insecurity in your own area but you carry South East matter on your head like barrel of crude oil?

You want to sit in Kaduna, Ibadan, Makurdi, Ogbomoso, Sokoto and be solving crime in Enugu where I'm sitting? You want to tell me who did what in my own State of Anambra while you can't tell anyone why IDP camps are all over your own State?

You guys should start asking your selves why Nigeria is amongst the top 10 most insecure countries of the world, what can be done to improve this, rather than using whatever insecurity there is in the South East to score cheap political points while your own backyard is burning.

Peace out!

Nigeria is not top 10 most insecure countries, though I don't feel like arguing on that but these 11 countries are more insecured.

Syria,
Yemen,
Afghanistan,
Democratic republic of congo
Russia
Ukraine
Israel
Sudan
South sudan
Iraq
Somalia

The President Bola Tinubu administration, through the National Bureau of Statistics, has debuted the Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey.

“The concept seeks to ensure that information rolled out to the public is data-driven,” Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communications, Daniel Bwala, revealed in a statement he signed on Wednesday titled ‘Ensuring Data Transparency: Tinubu govt debuts with CESPS.’

In its 2024 report, the CESPS collated crime incidents across the six geopolitical zones, with the Southeast recording the lowest rate of 6.2 million while the North West recorded the highest rate of 14.4 million incidents.

On security, the CESPS data based on a survey conducted across the six geopolitical zones nationwide is as follows: South East – 6.2m, South West – 6.9m, South-South – 7.7m, North East – 7.9m, North Central – 8.8m, and North West – 14.4m.

The statement read, “While the South East recorded the lowest incidence in crime experience with 6.2m, the North West was said to have had the largest with 14.4m.

“However, the report released by the NBS is a pointer to the several efforts of the current administration in addressing the security challenges ubiquitous in the country.

“Unlike what was obtained in the preceding year 2023, where crime incidences were pronounced high and at a crescendo, the 2024 report largely revealed the synergy between all relevant security architectures of the country – including military and paramilitary agencies, not forgetting private sector collaborations fostered by the Renewed Hope administration.”

Bwala argued that Nigeria has witnessed a drastic decline in cases of incessant kidnapping in the South, armed banditry, and cattle rustling in the North, especially the North West.

He also claimed that the activities of the proscribed group from the South East, Indigenous People of Biafra, and its affiliate – the Eastern Security Network, have largely reduced.

He also cited the recent arrest of the Finland-based Simon Ekpa, who “had hitherto instigated endless onslaughts on people from the South East.”

“On the Northern flank, Nigerians have seen fewer school attacks in the outgoing year, contrary to what was obtainable in recent years.

“This, no doubt, further lends credence to the fight against crime by the current administration,” he stated.

On inflation, the report revealed a slight increase relative to the recent natural disaster experienced by some northern states from the Northern extraction.

“The recent flood disaster that ravaged Borno State with a spillover to states like Adamawa, Yobe, and Gombe States would no doubt have a devastating impact on agricultural produce given that the nation depends on the North for food production.

“Understandably, the flood, with its concomitant effect, would naturally shoot up prices of goods,” argued Bwala.

He said the administration responded swiftly to the issue of the food crisis by releasing 2.1 million bags of fertilisers to help farmers nationwide and N30bn to Federal Universities of Agriculture to support mechanised farming and truckloads of 50kg-size rice sent to 36 states to help combat hunger and reduce inflation.

“Aside from the Federal Government’s quick intervention through the release of truckloads of grains to the sub-nationals, the Tinubu administration, in partnership with the World Bank, had earmarked $600m to fix 200,000km of rural roads aimed at facilitating food production and transportation to the various parts of the country.

“All of these measures are geared towards addressing food insecurity, the result of which is expected to manifest in the coming months,” the statement read.

On the economy, Bwala said the Tinubu administration reduced the debt-to-equity ratio to 68:32 within one year from around 97:3.

He also cited the payment of backlog of forex arrears to the tune of N7bn and increased foreign reserve to over $40bn, all of which, he said, is “geared towards redirecting the entire governance architecture for a more robust and thriving economy that will benefit all and sundry.”

thanks but this is very depressing to read.
The lowest crime rate is 6.2m incident while some regions have about 14m.
That means we have about 40m crime incidence as a country

Are we at war or what?

My brother we are not at war, rather we are facing a self induced illment in our country.. To say the truth, more than 70 percent of the kidnappings happening in the SW, SS and SE are perpetrated by the Fulanis you can do your findings and this continued UN abated cos the security forces are either shielding them or too scared to confront them based on their tribal affiliations and this is the legacy Buhari and Elrufai brought to Nigeria. The reduction in the crime in the SE is associated with some level of security improvement by our security forces and the stubbornness of the indigenes that in some cases go out of their ways to confront this Fulani devils mostly going unreported.

Most of the attacks commited by unknown gun men are targeted on military men not civilians unlike in the SW or Benue that fulani attacks civilians. That's why East will still remain the most peaceful region even with Biafra struggle

Enugu boundary area is the place that suffers fulani kidnapping because they use Benue and Kogi as hidehout. I wonder why the indegenes of these states are unable to secure their land.

But that doesn't mean that all kidnapping are commited by fulani. We still have our criminal brothers into kidnapping even before fulani starts disturbing in those areas

Don't just accuse fulanis of all kidnapping. It sounds somehow. Igbos are not known to be pretenders like our SW neighbour that blames everything on people they hate

Though am not IPOB supporter or member. But they are not targeting civilians, their main target are military men. That's why East is still densely populated.

If IPOB are targeting Civilians, we should be seeing news like 30 killed by ESN just as bandits kills 60, 30 in a single operation in North west and Benue.

East remain the safest because ESN target was never civilians. You guys should stop the propaganda. Not that am supporting the killing of our force men.

But why not care for your region SW?

Fulani targets the masses in your region. Four kings killed so far without no one talking about it.

This oga on ground say na lie.

Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Reverend Callistus Onaga, has condemned the pervasive killings and criminality in the South-East, labelling it as "self-destruction."

Onaga, who spoke during his Christmas media briefing on Tuesday, expressed concerns that the people of the South-East had become cowards of their own actions, allowing a few individuals to profit from their destruction.

"Why will we sit down and plan our own destruction and few people will be profiting with that," he questioned.

Onaga noted that the region has been plagued by violence since 2021, with locals killing each other under the guise of fighting against their oppressors.

"Here in the South East we started killing ourselves saying that we are killing those who are supposed to be killing us. We are destroying ourselves. We have done it for the past three years since 2021.

"We have become cowards of our own actions here in the South East."

He emphasised the need for forgiveness and an end to the cycle of violence.

The bishop also drew attention to the alarming ethnic cleansing in the North East and North Central Nigeria, where locals are being killed and their properties destroyed by both state and non-state actors.

He criticised the tendency to blame foreigners for these atrocities, insisting that Nigerians themselves are responsible.

Let's go over to the North East and all other parts of the North politics and ethnic cleansing," more especially in Benue State where the people are subjugated.

"We are doing a little bit of ethnic cleansing in some areas and then we are blaming the foreigners. No we are the one doing it," the Bishop Onaga insisted.

Speaking on the economic situation in the country, the Bishop appealed to the political elites to prioritize the welfare and well-being of the people.

"Can our politicians think otherwise and begin to make things easier. Will our politicians begin really believe that we the led have some measure of intelligence."

Bishop Onaga prayed for the country to overcome all the challenges impeding development through the coming of Christ and Christ celebration in this Christmas.

"My dear fellow Nigerians let us not add to the sufferings that are coming onto us by making things more difficult. At the Christmas celebrate with everybody, bring down your prices, bring down whatever you are doing.

"Yes even in the church you should do something bring down whatever lavies so that people can really feel the impact of the celebration of love and celebration of joy at Christmas."

Onaga's comments come as a call to action for Nigerians to take responsibility for their actions and work towards a more peaceful and harmonious society.

We have always sounded it hard to the ears of Apc zombies happy slaves.

The Monday sit at home is a day the people have set aside as face off between the FG security and the UGM. It's a shame the FG security has not been living to expectations.
The UGM openly challenge them by coming out to enforce it,the FG security should take it as an opportunity to crush the UGM..
The FG security appears helpless when this bastard killers strike, but you expect unarmed civilians to come out and get in the middle of a shoot out between 2 armed adults?

Plus sit at home oo
Plus Tinubulation o
Plus UGM oo
Plus ipob oo

Se is the safest Region in Nigeria.

You must be smoking Nnamdi Kanu's nshi. South East is not the safest. Compare the number of incidents recorded in the entire SW and then that of South East and its just less than 8% difference. Lagos alone is more than the population of the entire SE. It means SE is having more criminal incidents per capita than SW and most other region. We won't even be in this situation at all if not for you umu nzuzus and your Biafra nonsense. Ofeke.
