FreeStuffsNG:Silly talks! Who do you think made lagos an economic hub 50yrs ago? Your lazy forefathers?? Far from it! Lagos was named by the Portuguese slave traders who used it as a headquarter for their business. The British came and also established their HQ there. Thereafter, Nigeria made it her capital. These foundations coupled with its strategic location and the subsequent investments it attracted from individual Nigerians, federal government, state governments, organisations, corporate institutions and foreigners are all responsible for what lagos is today. Your lazy forefathers have no hands in it, otherwise, they would have developed Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Oyo and Ondo with the same hands |

I don't believe this shift list. Aside from kano I don't believe other figures from the Northern stares were nothing is happening. Osisiomo alone in Aba , Abia state where Ariaria market and other industries are generates more than 3 billion monthly in VAT. |

FreeStuffsNG:You're not being realistic. That's not his point. His point is that, from the true meaning of VAT, proceeds from every transaction should be given to the state in which that transaction is done or bought which absolutely makes sense. Any other thing is like robbing one state and giving it's VAT to another undeserving state. Even you, if your proceeds from your farm were given to another man, won't you deem it unjust? |

Image123:All the Yoruba states are down below the table but it's anambra state that is among the top 5 that's your problem. Ogun state that you people claim has more industries than the whole south east region is below the table while anambra comfortably sits at the top ladder over all the Yoruba states despite the sit at home God has blessed the south east and the region will continue to prosper. |

So Taxation (i.e government extortion) is what people are bragging about here? Smh. These same people never consider the fact that in western countries, companies prefer to push their profit into social responsibilities to using them to pay taxes . These people re not bothered about their direct benefits from companies in their locality, but rejoice when data like these are published for bragging rights... knowing fully well that those taxes most often are embezzled by the power that be. Some of these states among the first 10, can n't boost of quality infrastructures/security,yet these companies and individuals that contributes to these heavy taxes have been around over time. Nigeria has a long way to go. |

004gist:Are you new to Nigeria or what ?, that is the reality of Nigeria current tax system , VAT are paid to where the company are registered not where the product is consumed, the reason for agitation for tax reform. Lagos take it all, oil headquarters, Mobile network headquarters, Bank headquarters, only access to seaport and international airport and lot more. |
