How quickly can I get one?

What are the requirements. I am not renewing but getting a new one.

A 10 year Nigerian Passport at the rate of 130k , is just too exorbitant for a country where the minimum wage is just 70k per month.

In contrast an EU passport cost averagely 70 euros (119k naira) in most EU countries and the net minimum wage is about 1,500 euros per month.

Nigeria seem quite expensive to live in.

5yrs 30 something leaves is 50k......and in less than 2 weeks..... register online.....pay ur money....choose ur preferred date of capturing....visit d immigration office on ur preferred date for physical capturing...and u ready in 2weeks or less

Don't listen to this guy unless you want to come and sit under the canopy and be coming back everyday. Never ever go to immigration office without a facilitator….I work there anyways just incase anyone is trying to quote their daddy.

The responses in this thread explains a lot why Nigeria is still the way it is.....

A vast majority of us are either beneficiaries or facilitators of corruption. We curse those at the very top not because we hate corruption but because we are envious of the amount of state resources they have access to.

Put many of us there and we will barely act differently. It is well....

@OP, if you need an international passport, you should have planned ahead for it. Stop encouraging corruption.

The NIS should also create an official pathway or option for those who need a fast tracked processing. Say a 50% additional surcharge on the official cost for those who need their passport in 1 week and 100% surcharge for those who need it in 24 hours. That way, government can generate more revenue and cut off all these corrupt officers and middlemen.

Best option is to know someone that knows someone that can fast-track it.

In any case, if you're in Lagos, go to Festac and lay in wait for the head as if you want to make a complaint.

If not in Lagos, go to Ekiti, heard it is faster there for a while.

I did mine last year, I registered online and I went for capturing on the scheduled date and it was ready the following week. I didn't pay anyone or bribed any officer for the process...I can recommend Akure immigration office for anyone.

It goes to show that the government alone is not to blame for the sorry state of things. We Nigerians are also a big part of the problem because we actively work to sabotage efforts of the government to sanitize things.
