A 10 year Nigerian Passport at the rate of 130k , is just too exorbitant for a country where the minimum wage is just 70k per month.

In contrast an EU passport cost averagely 70 euros (119k naira) in most EU countries and the net minimum wage is about 1,500 euros per month.

Nigeria seem quite expensive to live in.

A vast majority of us are either beneficiaries or facilitators of corruption. We curse those at the very top not because we hate corruption but because we are envious of the amount of state resources they have access to.

Put many of us there and we will barely act differently. It is well....

@OP, if you need an international passport, you should have planned ahead for it. Stop encouraging corruption.

The NIS should also create an official pathway or option for those who need a fast tracked processing. Say a 50% additional surcharge on the official cost for those who need their passport in 1 week and 100% surcharge for those who need it in 24 hours. That way, government can generate more revenue and cut off all these corrupt officers and middlemen.

I did mine last year, I registered online and I went for capturing on the scheduled date and it was ready the following week. I didn't pay anyone or bribed any officer for the process...I can recommend Akure immigration office for anyone.

And that makes them a criminal? That’s their “service charge”. It’s like saying someone selling a bottle of coke for 1k5 is a criminal. They aren’t. It’s a free market. If the OP is happy paying that service charge, why not?

Paid for 10 years on 64pages is 100,000+4000 (104,000)

So totaling 117,000

But if you ask some officers to help you with the application, for 64pages you'll be charged 150,000.
For 34pages, you'll be charged 75,000 or so.
The extra charges has its benefit sha

I spent less than 50k this was before the price was reviewed upwards.

UYO immigration office is very very fast though one guy there at the capture wanted to use my head.Qas quoting plenty amount naso God just bring one officer to me and took me to do it easy.
