The organisers just killed those children for nothing and should be punished for it. RIP to the 35 children and quick recovery to the hospitalised ones.

This is all a result of bad organising.....if every thing was done properly,this could have been easily averted......we take a lot of things for granted in this country....you see someone have so much money to build an event center but no provision for adequate parking space.

Can we doctors scrutinize the second pic please? He is on oxygen yet there are no bubbles in the humidifier. There is a drip stand with a cannula insitu but no infusion bag or drip giving set running through the stand.

Secondly, who takes pictures as confirmation that one is sick? That's a rookie move. A doctor's report is much more reliable.

All we need is a doctor's report, the doctor's name, qualification(s) and current standing with regards to licence to practice.

It would be difficult to deduce much from a snapshot. A still may not demonstrate the bubbles so I wouldn't judge from that.
However , we don't know if that canula is actually in situ, for all we know it may just have been plastered over his hand. I always question the use of a size 22G canula on an adult especially when the working diagnosis is 'shock'. At the least, a 20G canula would be appropriate though its not particularly wife bore.
Anyway na naija, the more you look.......

It takes only a very wicked man to not collapse at the unintentional death of 35 people which will be blamed on you thereafter. Only our politicians can have strength not to collapse in this kind of situation. An ordinary citizen can even die of heart attack sef.

Events like that one can even get one killed or paralyzed on the spot

You are right. Forgot to pay attention to the size of the cannula since the one shown is quite commonly used in a pediatrics. Adults should use a larger cannula like you suggested so that's another red flag.

The patient is an adult and most likely should receive large liters of oxygen per minute. I expect bubbles in that humidifier if it is functioning properly

Yeah, should defo be a wide bore. When I used to work in Paeds, I'd get a 20G canula in children above 10yrs if there was a risk of shock, either GI or sepsis. Needless to say I saw a lot of shock when I practiced in rural naija. That guy no shock anything, he is just on bed rest

I see that no one wants to take responsibility for this event because there are casualties but if everything went well, they will have posted pictures online of their empowerment and charities.

The blame is on the State Government and organizers. Sponsors are also culpable because sponsorship is not for free. It means you are a part of it. The most disgusting part is the government trying to absolve itself of this issue. So you are telling me that if 1000 people gather at Agodi, our intelligence will let them takeover

So obvious.....he has the blood of those poor kids on his hands,they can't even lie properly..... majority of the privileged class in Nigeria most times didn't get up the ladder through merit or sheer intelligence but high service and arse licking and opportunity to be connected to someone big...... that's a major reason Nigeria is the way it is.....they will start telling useless motivational stories......many would hide any crime no matter how heinous so far they benefit from it.

-Another doctor detected that the wrong size of cannula was used. Go figure.
