AI is not all golden, but I agree it advances alot of thing, but it still hallucinates, I will advice people to go indepth in Software engineering because the basic tasks like Web design, Crud apps would be taken over by AI. I use Claude and was really blown away at the code it generated for me, but then again AI prompt + software engineering skills will really accelerate things and the same thing reduce the needs for X number of SWE.

• Learn the basics
• Give AI a prompt
• Make a few tweaks
• And that's it. Your product is ready

This is the real shift in the last six months and it's quite scary how Ai is about to push away some jobs meant for humans and the cost of doing certain jobs will highly be replaced with cheap payment.

I fear this is going to get worse next year. It’s safer for anyone to join an AI company than a traditional one. At least the jobs are dynamic and designed for building the future than fight the future.

In the next few years, Software development "might" slowly disappear, I can foresee a mass layoff of developers because a job of 10 developers can be with one developer with good knowledge of Ai & prompting within few hours. For your information, Ai debugs its code efficiently now, I just built a fully functional E-commerce website with Backend(supabase). Funnily. AI wrote frontend and backend code, Did all "npm package" installation, user login, signup & authentication seamlessly, even payment integration(with little guidance/instructions from me)....Some Ai platform even has Supabase integration already. Although, I still have to inspect the code, tweak & fix some little things to my taste, AI did 90% of the job. The scary thing is AI is getting a lot smarter day by day. in the next 5 years. We might not need a developer to build a full stack app. Btw, I'm a Junior frontend developer with average knowledge of javascript/React.

But here's a rough summary. You'll spend more time confused on "what the hell is going on", and if you're even skilled, spend 10x time debugging AI code than actually writing it yourself
