I've just watched the video... It's surreal.

The crowd control measures and logistics for organizing these give-aways have to be properly worked out NEXT time. If you're giving out 5000 gifts of rice or cash, then do a pre-selection before the actual day of distribution, so, that there won't be a massive crowd of people ABOVE the total number of bags of rice and cash gifts available. This should have been done in the Ibadan, Oyo State and the Okija, Anambra State stampede cases.

Some of the people in the crowd might even be there to grab their own bags of rice for rebagging and resale thereby defeating the purpose of the noble act of genuine gift giving.

Crowd control is key in any event. Period.

Deaths from stampedes have ALWAYS occured randomly in Nigeria for decades. It was absolutely WRONG for those "bloody imbeciles" online to begin to taunt the memory of those who lost their lives in Ibadan, Oyo State like that. Then just 2 days later, a similar stampede episode occurs in Okija, Anambra State leading to the loss of lives.

Indeed, a lack of water-tight crowd control and logistics is what triggers these stampede deaths even though the intentions behind the ACT of "genuine gift giving" is noble.

A standard national safety protocol must be adhered to by all organizers of programs such as this from here on out.

Indeed, NOBODY in the Ibadan stampede episode deserved to be mocked by "imbeciles" and "idiots" like that. It was just "poor crowd control" and inefficiencies in logistics that occured in that unfortunate situation.

Standard national safety protocols and pre-selection (or pre-qualification) processes have to be adhered to from now on to prevent stampedes like these.
