In this year 2024 alone, a lot of stampedes have taken place: Lagos' stampede for cheap rice from custom (a pregnant woman and 6 others dead). Nasarawa state university stampede caused by the government that want to share palliative (about 4 state university students dead). Ibadan Christmas funfair stampede killed 35, mostly children. It was for rice and 5k Abuja Stampede (developing story) - palliative Anambra Stampede (developing story) - palliative. Politicians are giving out palliatives as if we are still in Covid-19 era or in a war zone. If there is good governance, there will no need to share food to citizens. What we need is good governance, not rice....

People may not notice and I hate to bring politics here but APC brought this palliative lifestyle to Nigeria. - Minister of Humanitarian Affairs shared cash to poor Nigerians - VP Osinbajo shared money before the 2019 elections - APC government started palliative care during COVID-19 and now it has caught on as a lifestyle You can't do giveaway as an escape out of poverty. We used to abuse Fayose of PDP of stomach infrastructure but we didn't know they were admiring him. Think about it, it is now 10 years of APC, so people don't see how these palliatives became normalised. |

My Brother we know that the government have failed Nigerians, but on this context of reoccurring stampede, all the blame should not be on the government alone. Right from time when the country was much better there was always Christmas and Salah giveaways by churches, good Nigerians, NGO'S, organisations etc. I think the organizer's should do more in crowd control. They should synergize with the police and civil Defence on measures of controlling the crowd that will turnup for the giveaway event. The venue is another safety measure to consider. A much bigger space or field should be use to contain the thousands of people that will turnup, preferably a stadium will be safer. All the Location's involve in the recent stampede, just take a look at the environment and space that was used to organize such event. They should know by now that whenever NIGERIANS hear of giveaways, both invited and uninvited will flood into the event. Above all, the Government should reduce the level of hunger in the land. May End of the year tragedy not be out portion. |

If there is good governance, there will no need to share food to citizens. Nigerians don’t want to agree it’s bad governance instead they are blaming whoever shared his food that consequently backfired caused a stampede |

Softmirror:You're very soulless There's nothing you can't defend I wonder how you sleep at night Good governance will reduce poverty levels No same society where people scramble for food like scavengers Food is a basic human necessity that shouldn't be so scarce people have to die in the bid to get it If good governance will lead to sharing of iPhone instead of food then so no be it Your point is stupid |

ogaemma:Doing give away in person is not wise in 2024 .. Drop and advert .. drop a phone channel.. take names and designations of the people who the give away is intended to help .. Send the cash to them after verification of these individuals.. easily .. all you need is a team that is not fantastically corrupt .. and where do you find that it's amongst the poor .. too .. because they know what it is to be starving .. go to each community.. look for the poorest house holds . Take all the head of family's .. document them .. and use them as staffs to shear the palliative.. it's not a December thing .. it's a year round and very big project .. how many food can you distribute in 1 day .. its madness .. we have the wrong people creating problems via wrong decisions .. |
| Re: Stampede Politics (Photos) by Came4amod: 9:12am On Dec 22, 2024 |
Came4amod:Step 1 .. request all banks .. sort all house addresses of the poorest communities Step 2 .. verify the addresses to confirm people live there Step 3 .. assing the eldest person as the receiver of the palliative .. and allow him to register is dependents To account for the number of people living and staying in that address Step 4 .. request for the list arranging from the lowest cash flow down to the highest cash flow Step 5 sort the list and remove everyone who has above the poorest cash flow .. because some rich people also live in poor addresses .. Step 6... Create a payment scheme where all monies given will be tracked and accounted for .. so at this point they do not have access to the cash to spend wrongly .. they are given palliative credits that can only be exchanged for food items .. at a government stand issued to that location ... Step 7 .. create a system where by these house holds qualify by cash flow .. and get disqualified by the same system ... Step 8 .. people living with disability should always come first in every scheme .. Step 9 .. have a private audit company scrutinized the process and leave no loop holes and perfect the scheme as new loop holes are discovered .. This 9 steps will be a year round scheme .. and will solve the problem of proverty stampeding for food Also in the process of the scheme train all the benefactors of the scheme basic survival and self sustainable ways of food productions gardening to reduce the need for labor to feed .. gardening.. live stocks .. free zones .. and teach people to live in less populated and crowded environments that tends to exploit the masses With this scheme under 1 year .. no one will stamped for food .. any where in Nigeria forever |

These stampedes shows us that Tinubu has failed woefully on food security. The number 1 point on his eight point agenda to revive Nigeria. 1. food security; 2. poverty eradication; 3. growth, 4. job creation; 5. access to capital; 6. inclusion; 7. rule of law; and 8. fighting corruption https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp

Softmirror:Bottom line is, one led to stampede due to the level of hunger while the other did not I know you'll go to the Internet now to look for where food sharing led to deaths in the UK to justify yourself Your first lady just sent out 2.3bn worth of rice with no known business to her name. You can also check for the spouse of UK politicians who shared £120k worth of rice to UK citizens |
