Those that did that actually brought their kids... Let me shock u.

I have a friend now they are 6 in Numbers. Now they are running to raise 16800 for their kids and wife and dependant thats after spending or paying 18000 pounds for school fees...
I thought primary and secondary education is free in the UK? Or it does not apply to non-citizens?

P.S. This relocation thing should be done when one is either single or married without children.

Yes primary to secondary is free... Education is free for children
But the problem comes when u want to change visa.
From student to post graduate to skill workers visa to even indefinite leave to remain in in thr UK. You discover that you just dashing this people money.

Coming to UK with kids has a big disadvantage as well as it has an advantage in terms of u coming with the mindset of coming to cash out. Because u have to Sacrifice a lot for the kids.

So its best u come single or u come with no kids yet or dependant children yet. Even the British citizen hardly give birth pass 2 kids cos in this western world having kids is expensive cos u will stay at home and could only take part time jobs as ur husband goes away working. U can't leave ur kids at home all alone.

This is the same situation I am. I go to work and my wife stays with the kids. Imagine i am raking 2300 salary and ly wofe is taking 2000 salary. But this is not tje case cos of the child.

The cashout concept, I believe, works better in the US where salaries are higher and economic opportunities are abundant.

As for children, even having plenty of children in Nigeria is also expensive especially if one wants to give them a much better life than the one parent had/have. When I was in Nigeria, I had the goal of just two. Getting here, I understood why many don't have more than two or at best just one. I even started toying with just a child. Although, I have met and seen folks with three and four children. But that is for them. I cannot deal with such. I have my life to live and enjoy.

Only 53 EB5 visas were issued to Nigerians for 2023 year.
Only 53? Get it.
Meanwhile 7300 US visas were issued to Nigerians in the same year.

Those 53 EB5 visa people na just nationality and residence for their children dem buy through the EB5 visa and most of them are politically exposed persons PEP.
Mind you, their source of wealth and their oil well wey enable dem to apply and get the EB5 visa na naija e dey.
Thank God you know they live in Nigeria and their kids are abroad.
So na Japa be that? Is that your definition of japa?
If Dangote go collect EB5 visa, abi u go talksay Dangote don japa?

The only reason you will be denied visa to paradise is if you are not rich.
Rich people no dey japa.
EB5 visa na just security for their children.
Who dem go leave their oil well or business for?
To go work wetin for US again?
Wetin US go fit give them in terms of wealth wey Naija no fit give them.
It is easier to make a million dollars in Nigeria than to make it in the US, take it or leave it.

Cost to japa has BALLOONED beyond what 90% of Nigerians can afford.

The combination of an UNFORGIVING exchange rate and BRUTAL immigration requirements by several countries have temporarily stemmed the tide of japa.

Plus, the rise of ANTI-IMMIGRANT sentiments has forced some people to reconsider.

Trump's entire campaign HINGED on treating immigrants as bad as possible. And it WORKED!

Immigrants or illegal immigrants
It's lying behavior like this that he's trying to avoid

Pierre Poilievre, Canadian Trump-wannabe, is on his way to power in 2025. He is ANTI-IMMIGRANT too.

Most popular child name in UK for 2024 was Mohammed. UK citizens are SCARED now so they are ANTI-IMMIGRANT too.

Poland too has a LOUD anti-immigrant politician.

MOST of Europe are experiencing a WAVE of anti-immigrant sentiments. They are rolling out measures that'd make immigration into their countries DIFFICULT and UNDESIRABLE.

If you scale through the hurdles, you'd still face HOSTILE indigenes that'd treat you like garbage.

A new era of Nationalism is DAWNING.
NOBODY wants foreigners in their countries.
Nobody!

Japanese are LITERALLY dying out due to low birth rate and they still LOATHE immigrants.

It's time to face your own country. Call politicians to order.

Demand MORE!

And you think the 'dog-whistling' from outsiders like you that they should take in every dick and harry that comes to their country makes sense, right?

Why do immigrants like you love dictating to the owner of the lands what they should do? Can you do this in Qatar or China?

Yes, there are extremists but most of the folks are moderate.
It's annoying. The obvious truth is that the kindness of North American and European countries has become their weakness. The Arabs that killed off their own Negro populations aren't being harassed about racism, goes to show that evil is its own reward. They really saw the future.

Nigerians whining about the racism of the USA and UK can't even do anything about tribalism and other forms of prejudice in Nigeria. Let that sink in, let's think about what it says about Nigerians that Igbo people can't vote peacefully in Lagos and the same Igbo find it easier or more expedient to agitate about racism in the US & UK. Igbos were flogged and chased away from polling stations in Lagos. Everyone knows this, yet nobody complains. And it will continue happening because well we're Nigerians.

The descendants of the same Nigerian tribes that SOLD Black Americans into Slavery are now agitating to compete with the descendants of those slaves for the little compensatory allowances given by White Slavers! The Black African has NO SHAME at all.

Christians are regularly being massacred in the Middle Belt and Northern Nigeria, but the main concern of "educated" Nigerians is racism in the US & UK and xenophobia in South Africa grin

sulaak:
I think Nigerians need to be realistic about their future. When a World Bank official stated that Nigeria would need 15 years of reform to end the present hardship, most Nigerian media houses and intellectuals started attacking the WB and IMF, forgetting that Nigeria's problem is deeper than economic.

The social collapse, the decay in education institutions, and the complete lack of accountable civil and public services will require substantial political and economic reform.
We have witnessed how the PHCN, NFF, and NNPC have hindered development.
Nigerians are an evil specie of humanity. This shouldn't surprise anyone since 27% of Nigerian children are conceived in deceit, fraud, lies and infidelity , Nigeria is a society where the FAMILY, the basic unit of human communal interactions, is rife with deceit and wickedness! It explains a lot. There's no mystery now why Nigerians are such craven, cynical HYPOCRITES. shocked

Nigeria is a serious problem for the world. Let's admit that much.

The problems of Nigeria are Nigerians themselves.
Nigerians are a special kind...the condition of Nigeria is a testament to the quality of people that inhabit the country.

It's a pity.

I will keep it a buck with you
People who have millions of USD in Nigeria are aplenty
Compared to the size of our population, it might look like a fraction
But in absolute numerical terms, them plenty

BUT
Let's keep it a. buck again
We all know how some of them acquired these riches. (starts with a c and ends with e, na 5 letter word)

That's why many of them are hiding and living like 👻
EFCC raid homes and see raw Euro and USD stuffed in these houses all the time.

That's just the truth
That said
One fellow mentioned stuff about Arabs up there....
Seems like they are not following the news

Arab folks are being called out on their racism all the time
Especially more recently
And unlike what some dummies may believe, now they care about their image as well, that's why they are denying it and trying to "reforn"

If u are active on twitter Gerrard59
you would have been familiar with the altercation between black folks (AAs and African alike) and those Arab guys with Palestinian flags
it was interesting to see, which is why I rebuff and laugh at ignorant ppl talking about how "Arabs are not being called out on their racism"

when that scandal came out in Qatar as a documentary, if Arabs were so "wicked"; why didn't the Qataris own it with their full chest and say that we are like that, go to hell (the world Cup situation, you should look it up as well)
Qatar and Kuwait give citizenship to Africans and they represent them in the Olympics and other competitions. If indeed the Arabs are "somehow", how will this even be a case in the first place ?

Note:
I am not saying Arabs are perfect, I'm just saying the context to which ppl say that they say in reference to Arabs is wrong

Ignorance and self hatred is very prevalent in the black space, and its unfortunate
Hopefully in our generation, it gets undone as much as possible

Sure, we do. The gap between us and black South Africans isn't that much considering we can close it as we've more room to expand our economy than theirs, especially as we are in complete control.

It is the statement "easier to make $1M in Nigerian than in the US". Except for illegal means, which is not open to everyone and are unrealistic, the statement does not hold water.

That's why many of them are hiding and living like 👻

But seriously, those events got me stunned how people could store physical cash let alone USD in their homes. Non-Nigerians would find it hard to believe.

Institutionally, they are not doing anything. It is not like the West will institute reparations, but the West is almost the best place for black people to progress not only professionally but enjoy first world living standards. The Arabs have a longggg way to go. They have to begin from the native black population.

Just because you and your fellow economic migrants see japa as a means to end poverty in the family does not mean that it works like that for everyone in Naija. Omo, some people are okay in Naija o.

Well, I don’t think anyone here deny the fact that Japa is for the poor, the average and the middle class. No wealthy Nigerian will wish to Japa under that ridiculous cold, loneliness, depression, fear of unknown and other things to earn $5k (if middle class) working in a decent place or to earn minimum wage (if average before they left) cleaning yansh or packing snow

There are 2 groups of anti japa people.

Group 1 are the genuine anti japa advocate. They have all it takes to migrate if they want to but they don't want cos they are not interested. They make their point but don't overflog the issue cos it doesn't concern them what others do. They have more important conversations to have than chasing what life people are living abroad. This group don't care whether people japa or not.

Group 2 are the fake anti japa advocates. They became anti japa cos they failed. Either they don't have what it takes to migrate or they were denied visas or they migrated but failed abroad. Cos of frustration and anger, they become anti japa advocate in other to try and feel good. It is this group that are noticing the japa noise because they care

It's obvious you are in Group 2. You keep creating useless threads about the same japa things you are against. Who does that? From creating thread on how a Macdonald worker is richer than Dangote to creating thread about grocery prices in America, for someone who claims to be anti japa, what is your interest?. If you are fixated on something you don't like or care about then there is a problem.
It's like claiming you don't like a babe but the babe's name is always in your mouth. You claim you can't date the babe cos she is not your type yet you are always ranting about the babe. My brother, you like the babe joor just that she no gree you.

My advice for you and others in your group in 2025 is to allow yourselves to heal. Failure is part of life and it is nothing to be ashamed of. It is likely everyone in this life will fail on something at some point in their life but how they move on is important. Focus on yourselves and let the people breathe. The last time I checked, children don't migrate, it is full fledged adults that migrate and they are not forced to japa. So if they pack snow and suffer, let them be, it doesn't affect your "wealth".
Abeg make una chill for 2025. Happy new year in advance to you all.

Those yeyebrities like Mr. Patrick na rich pple abi?
You can not become rich by earning salary.
Those rich men you know were not rich, the person who was rich was the one paying them that salary.
No rich man wey get factory wey dey manufacture anything for dis Naija go leave am, go wipe nyash or shove snow.

It's easier for a Nigerian to make a million dollars in Nigeria than in the USA.

Japa if you wish, na your choice.
[quote author=chimex38 post=133536909]The wealthy who can afford it leave.
It's not cuz of the foreign paparazzi.
It's standard of living.
There will be a stage you reach in wealth, you realise that it can't buy everything..

Equipped and Accessible hospital, Pharmacy without fake drug.

Good road network for your cars wherever you drive.

Professional mechanic with peace of mind.

Good fuel for ur vehicle without knocking your engine.

24/7 light without noise pollution of generator wherever you go not just in your house (Solar isn't usually 24/7 guaranteed)

Clean and available water that is regularly checked and maintained wherever you go.
(How many wealthy people constantly clean their tank or change the filter in Nigeria.)

Fast and strong Network for video calls and high end connectivity.?

Security of neighborhood and efficient emergency services like 911?
No unnecessarily bodyguards who sometimes invade your privacy, due to the nature of their work and they could be a security risk themselves.

Even clean air for breathing, due to clean environment and non-clogged gutters and clean surrounding environment isn't guaranteed in Nigeria.

How many of the above can a wealthy man constantly provide for himself & family and also maintain throughout his life time.. He also has relations he interacts with and friends and he will also not be 24/7 staying indoors in his all-having house every day throughout the year. He will visit friends, village, probably choose to live in other cities or areas; does he carry the house wherever he goes or he simply replicates all expenses again in his new place? Even if he could How sustainable?
Even if sustainable?
How many can or are doing it in Nigeria?
Even if there are substantial people satisfying the above, is it a life worth the struggle?
Is it worth living?
