Speed Darlington Granted Bail After 1 Month In Detention by Edygrin(op): 3:41pm On Dec 23, 2024
Rapper Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Achakpo, has been granted bail after spending nearly a month in police custody.

His counsel, Stanley Alieke, shared the update on Instagram, stating that the court has granted Speed Darlington bail.

Apki has been granted bail by the court,” he wrote without including much information.

The rapper was arrested on November 27 while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo State, due to alleged abuse of Afrofusion star Burna Boy.

Despite the challenges, Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, had earlier stated that the singer would be arraigned within 48 hours or released on bail.

Our FREP application for Speed Darlington a.k.a has been granted by the court. He is to be arraigned within 48 hours or released. Issues around injustice may take time but justice will always prevail,” he wrote.

He did a video where he rubbed baby oil on one of his fingers and was moving it up and down while saying: "ifuku-fuku-fuku".

A person who cannot control his mouth will end up allowing his mouth to control him into trouble.

I hope he learnt his lessons.

As for the celebrity lawyer, he needs to influence his clients out of trouble. After this guy was released, a sensible lawyer would have advised him to desist and not even engage in innuendos, but not the dude who uses these people to build his profile. It is similar to the Bolt driver assaulted by a member of the house of representatives. While the celebrity lawyer was in court trying to get the person who assaulted his client to pay heavily, the client was said to have gone to the assaulter's house with his brother to eat chicken and collect AC, as well as ikebelicious babes.

A lawyer who cannot influence his clients should just remain an activist: a public nuisance without ethics in genuine activism.

Shut your dirty mouth. Have you given him chance to defend himself in court? He could say the video was done by AI, edited or or was talking about something else.

Nigerian constitution says you cannot hold a person more than 48 hours in a cell without charging the person to court or getting a court order to further detain him.

INEC switched off their servers in broad daylight and ushered in the worst president in the history of the world and none of them is in prison. Your attention is Speed Darlington and Burna Boy insult which is a civil issue that should be taken to civil court for arguments.

You are not mentally in a place to merit an engagement from me.

I also do not have anger to invest in someone who is unworthy of my anger.

You are not worth a discourse with my 2-year-old Rottweiler if you believe unconfirmed video containing insult and jabs is easily admissible as evidence in court.

You're an emotional APC voter. Engaging with you is as effective as engaging with a madman sleeping in a gutter in a motorpark.

Even if Speed Darlington committed any crime, bring him to court let the court decide. The court might even find him guilty and give him sentence of 1 week community service and dismiss him cos he already surpassed that time in police cell.

Why do some of you like siding with wickedness and injustice by default?

Just this once, I'd just tell you: you are not exactly bright. If you studied law, I am sure you had an "E" in Evidence Law. Even a dunce knows that video evidence is admissible if it satisfies certain requirements.

I suggest you give Section 84 of the Evidence Act to your Rottweiler to read and explain it to you, since you are irreparably dull to read it and understand, which may have prevented you from humiliating yourself and the university that awarded you a degree. Also see the ruling on video evidence by the Supreme Court. I know you won't understand because you barely passed Evidence Law after carrying it over twice, that the Dean of Law had to give you a pass so you'd stop embarrassing the faculty and the university.

Please I can't waste time on your sick reasoning again.

Hand don touch am!
But seriously, all these content creators need to mind the way they tarnish people's image for content.
No be everybody get joy. See the case of "Niah", the Jamaican tiktoker who got sh*t & k*lled on TikTok live for calling out some gangsters just for content creation and followers.

Akpi needs to thread carefully.

Where were you since 27th November to quote this part of the constitution to the court to facilitate his release?
If we ask you to name the section of the constitution that said so, you will start googling and googling before you reply.
Have you ever seen a constitution?
Do you even know what is written at the beginning of the constitution?
It's only Obidents that talk about constitution yet have NEVER for once in their life seen one.
Why don't you go to Twitter, tag INEC and tell them they switched off their server?
It is only Obidents that talk about civil and criminal cases but when they are sitting with you without access to rush to Google where they will become emergency experts, they will start foaming from their mouth.

How can you be this dumb to likened the case of Afe Babalola to this? We are talking of two erudites of learned fellows who had land case battles, and one felt unjustly treated and wrote about the injustice....and you are here comparing that to one idiot who just woke up one day and started blabbling rubbish with baby oil in his hands.

I have encountered alot of them, I gave them the benefit of doubt that they know what they were talking about, only to realize that they know nothing at all.
He has never seen a constitution before, if we are sitting together physically and you ask him to tell you the section of the constitution he's quoting, he won't know it, since we are on the internet, he will Google it and tell you.
I had this argument with someone some few weeks ago about "The Judiciary", he doesn't know what "Judiciary" mean but he wanted to lecture us about Law, I didn't read law but I grew up with a high court judge so I have some ideas about law and how the system functions.
If you dig into him, you will realize he did Diploma studies in one polytechnic where the lecturers don't attend class at all but they will all pass.
If someone that's refined is typing, you will see it from his use of language.
