Because I just wanted to point out your lack of comprehension skills. That's all. Cheers.
You are the one that lacks comprehension here, and you can't cover it up with insults. You reminded me that the author mentioned "language courses". You did it as if my question to the author is irrelevant, or as if the author mentioning "language courses" is the answer to my question.

My task for you is simple. Mention the language courses or explain why you quoted my comment and reminded me that the author mentioned "language courses".

This is laughable

What a stupid demonic country

But to all those who defend this satanic government on nairaland, may your sorrows be multiplied, as tinubu is working to destroy the lives of innocent nigerians so shall the devil destroy your destiny and generation

Ebubu6:
Is Nigeria rich like the USA ?

Your national budget is even below only Texas budget.
Why are you defending wickedness

Why are they not cutting down on their own excesses and overspending of the national wealth

Why only the poor must feel the pain

May your life and generation be as the way tinubu is running nigeria

In other words, the situation is as follows:

1.
Your capacity is almost exhausted. Selecting courses for the loan is obviously a strategy to drastically reduce the demand for the loan. You lack the boldness to disclose that you cannot afford to offer the loans to all the students who need it.

2.
Nigerian universities get accreditation for useless courses, and admit people to study those courses. So, your government wants to discriminate against the students doing those courses rather than mandate NUC to scrap those courses.

3.
Your statement is vague until you mention the courses that do not qualify for the loan.
See your comment above. Language courses are language courses. Everything. grin

Why do I have to list them when you are not a kid?

The message is very loud and clear but some Nigerians like to attach unnecessary sentiments and emotions to issues. In the present reality in our job market, some courses can't just sell. Therefore, giving out loans to students studying such courses would do neither the students nor the country any good. We are talking about LOANS not bursary allowance or any other kind of freebies!

Some courses need to be scrapped or reserved for moneybags who want to acquire degrees for bragging rights QED

That should also be one of the criteria otherwise, the FG will just be wasting all that funds with nothing to show for it.

Wow! Please, which Nigerian university admits people to study just French or Russian? Does it actually happen in Nigerian universities?

If you assume it's irrelevant then at this junction, it is.

You are just ranting. You have responded to me more than five times without being able to mention a single course that you and the author refer to as a language course and any university that offers the course. A few minutes ago, someone mentioned French and Russian, and you were quick to quote the person's comment and insult me there. It is obvious that your assertion against my comment is unfounded. You are patiently waiting for whoever will drop any point that you can possibly use to validate your attack on me. Well, your action here might be considered clever, but that level of cleverness cannot cover up your already manifested stupidity.

For more than 5 hours, you were insulting me but could not mention that this university offers Russian and French as major courses.

It is obvious that your attack on me is unfounded. You are now waiting and searching for any other person who can drop a point you can possibly use to possibly validate your unjust attack.

Two things are clear here.

1.
You couldn't mention any language course and a Nigerian university that offers that course.

2.
You have not been able to explain how discriminating against the students that do the causes you refer to as language causes is better than mandating NUC to scrap those courses.

Segregation don start... Are they not all students? Useless government
Re: Student Loan To Be Restricted To High-Demand Courses - NELFUND by stagger: 4:54pm On Dec 23, 2024
.This policy was not well thought out.

I would have preferred for multinationals and conglomerates to provide some of the funding, so that those they fund can come on board to work, pay off the loans to NELFUND with their salaries, and NELFUND reimburses these companies with a small interest. NELFUND can invest in low-risk channels like the local bonds market.

Where does NELFUND expect students to pay these loans from within 5 years? Even the medical and engineering courses...how much do these graduates earn in the first 5 years post-grad?

Your statement of "language courses" is vague until you mention the courses you refer to as language courses. List for us those courses that do not qualify for the loan.

What are those language courses? Let him mention them or you should help him with that, so that we can see the rationality of his claim.

Also, try to explain to us how and why discriminating against the students doing those courses is better than mandating NUC to scrap those courses.
.

IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU.

LOL.. what are high demand courses in Nigeria? High demand in what sense? In a country that us full of graduate engineers unemployed.. mechanical, electrical, electronic, aeronautical, chemical engineer dricibg keke marwa. What courses can be more than these?
Re: Student Loan To Be Restricted To High-Demand Courses - NELFUND by ivandragon: 6:45pm On Dec 23, 2024
Lol.

Are the loans free?

Why not set funding limits instead according to the discipline.

The hardship that apc has caused does not exempt courses. The increase in school fees cuts across all courses.

Evil government.

Is studying philosophy more important than studying radiation physics which is important for consistent power supply and medicine ?

That bastard is boasting of building roads in the north and SW when there is none in his own region.
He's also responsible for the demolition of Igbo businesses in Lagos in the name of a useless road construction, with no compensation for the victims.
He's a shameless goat, and i'm sure those he's licking their asses now will eventually disappoint him the same way they did to Amaechi.

Whichever you prefer. Funds are not enough to fund every course. Essential courses in Engineering and Medicine first.

Idiots studying Islamic studies also want loans.cheesy Even idiots studying Library science and Clerking cheesy

Engineering, Technical courses and Medical aligned courses are prioritised for now under lean budget and lean resources. When economy improves we will start funding Christian Religious Studying and International Relations grin
You obviously lack manners. Not surprising that a very uncouth and foul mouth accompanies your irrational mind. It's going to be impossible to explain to an inferior mind like yours that courses in university are studied based on interest and capability. Hence, they should be treated equally in terms of policy implementation.

Keep waiting to be treated equally. Even abroad, scholarships are given to STEM courses more than courses like philosophy grin

Even if they disappoint him, he has made his tens of Billions of Naira in the name of Works minister and put his name in the history of Nigeria as a two time Governor, a senator, a minister, a state party chairman, a state deputy governor. Even if he's dumped he's a Billionaire and not 2 billion level of billionaire. My oga's money paws the budget of many states so its not a lose-lose. .

Then again, that he's not building road in Ananbra because of you people's hatred for him doesn't mean he's not doing Eastern road. Enugu to Abakaliki highway is getting dualised into two, there's a flyover there too. Benue to Abakaliki too. So that food baskets can enter Abakaliki.

Don't talk about my Boss anyhow again.
