Last time I bought was around 1200. You could even get 900 or 1000 some places. A good sized broiler went for 4500-5000.


Roughly 4 years ago. The economy is really terrible now.

Here in PH , chicken is very costly now. I bought 5 for 20k @4 k each since September , feed is very expensive. Thank God all the 5 made it . I want to sell another one tomorrow

Layers are presently sold for between 15 k and 18 k in Lagos.

Table size broilers presently sell for between 25k and 35 k in parts of the country.

In Bauchi it's sold between 10k to 16k depending on the size

It will be folly for anyone to buy chicken for 25k when you can get 4 already processed chicken for that price from stores.

what’s the difference between frozen and live chicken? May be there is something I do not know. I can get 4 full frozen chicken for 25k, why should I get one for same?

Come to think of it. All within this new administration, just about 18 months and the increase is like 4-6x. It's not normal.

An average Nigerian do things to show off irrespective of the unnecessary financial cost. They want their neighbors to see the live chicken.

In Lafia, Nasarawa state, as of today Chicken is 25,000(4 months old) naira flat. No reduction. A chicken of 6 weeks is 15,000 naira
