otipoju:I go to all these places on holidays since a toddler so it's no big deal to me. Truth be told, I have never loved any of those countries because of either their weather, their to much privacy, loss in family bond. I prefer going on holidays and back home, Nigeria. One of the countries I can't stand during winter is Canada even some Canadians relocate for a short period to other countries during winter, their aged ones do this a lot. Bottom line, it's no big deal to me. Nigeria is a lot of fun. If you have family members who were born in U.K or U.S.A you will notice that at most times, when the travel down to Nigeria they feel reluctant to go back. Forumites |

This is asinine. Its no big deal to you but it is a big deal to others. Then shut your trap, nobody is asking you to dick measure on nairaland. Asking such a dumb question after the guy duly explained his reasons in the video smacks of inferiorty in thinking. People relocate for different reasons. I have Caucasian neighbours who actually left the US for Mexico despite all the noise about insecurity and drug issues there. I also have a former colleague at work who left for Hong Kong with his wife and made it a big news for everyone to know when he was leaving....nobody came out to ask why they saw it as a big deal or not a big deal. Why? Because its myopic to want to justify or rationalise peoples decisions. Its dim to even attempt it. Reasons for relocation are personal...overlaying it on your own experience is simply dumb. Shawarmagirl:...And what exactly does it feel like?!! Success and Failure are everywhere. You think everyone abroad is swimming in wealth and comfort?!! Better quit that mindset. Travel for pleasure or work, but make sure you have a clear path and plan to succeed there... If not, you will definitely regret it. |

Softmirror:Nigeria has a population of 200 + million people. And inside these 200 million Plus people, Few are in politics (Thats the current paying venture in the whole of Nigeria now, the only lucrative one Paying billions for being very stupid, and on your resume, you must have been a thief in maybe your community or working as a thief in maybe NEPA before you join) And since not every one can enter, How them for do? Now let me explain something you are not getting. Investors do not come into Nigeria because of the governmental messed up policies (I have 2 startups , No funding. I ended up using my savings to pay my workers and all) , Remote work, you have to struggle with geographical location in order to meet survival. Even Almighty Andela now , has started "geographical location" madness , before you can get a Job. Ok still not convinced, Let me show you something again, 2014, your passport was visa free to 60 countries. I would like you to google and tell me how many it is now. Ok, let me help you, it is 27! 27 countries alone! Ok let me help you, google High risk immigration countries OR high risk countries. And tell me if you do not see Nigeria there. Now if Tayo Aina and co decided or rather decides to leave , You are saying "Nigeria is fun" and castigating them. I am asking the fun you speak of, Fun in what way exactly? Because you can change $100 and it gives you 170k to throw around? You don consider those for Ladipo, Trade fair and co? Custom duty nko? How is everything here looking like fun? E be like you be one of those 30k and 3 Onions people, abi? |

When you leave Nigeria, do not abandon the country entirely. Get your foreign citizenship, foreign education and create a business you can run from Nigeria and then, come back even if to live in Nigeria part-time or full time. The biggest mistake I made was staying away from Nigeria for to long, I have now learnt my lessons. It does not not matter the situation in the country, I believe I have what it takes to succeed and live a better life way beyond anything I can have abroad. The richest Nigerians are in Nigeria. I wish Tayo best of luck. |

Yes, you did not, but you exhibited an infantile level of reasoning typical of a nairaland tribseman hence i had to call you out. Relocation, just like many other critical decisions in life are personal choices.....you should never come to the open to question or castigate them unless you were in the shoes of decision makers Softmirror: |

Softmirror:That Experience was good. But at this point, Nigeria is NO Fun! That is basically what i want you as a person to clearly understand. Make una stop to castigate people way decide to do something better with them lives. Nigeria as a nation no day help anybody. End of story. |

You conclusion is based on a personal anecdote! It is mostly likely that you come from a privileged background which makes up less than 15% of Nigerians... the typical Nigerian would NEVER say Nigeria is fun... they would always say it is damn hard to survive because of the corrupt system, grossly inadequate and poor infrastructures... look at Nigeria from a different eyes and you would view things differently. You likely haven't had a close family member die of an illness like cancer and experienced how Nigeria's poor medical system failed them... that's why you are sugar-coating things. Softmirror: |

Wildkat02:That country came out of a war. It still has the level with Sarajevo, Georgia and co. There Is no way it can be better than Nigeria. Sorry I don't agree with you on this. Is South Sudan better than Nigeria ? They have nearly same grade. |
