Divineherbsx:This is beyond that. Dangote just cleaned up the main bowl and fixed the grass to make it manageable. This upgrade is about bringing the entire stadium to world class standard, with digital advertising boards, world class pitch, VAR setup, upgraded training facilities, velodrome upgrade, 200 room hostel upgrades, etc etc. A full-spectrum upgrade to bring the stadium in line with global best practices. These are the sort of things the FG couldn't bring out money for when we were spending over a third of our income on fuel subsidies. NOW there is money to spend on building the country. Expect more of such upgrades and projects across the nation in the months and years ahead. ![]() |

Good. It might also be helpful for states to start having their football clubs and let them compete. I am not quite sure if the football clubs in the Nigerian Premier League are owned by state governments. Money would be made from ticket sales and sponsorships. The best clubs will make money from various sponsorship deals. Nigerians get excited with other leagues. Give them their own functioning league and see if it won't blow. |

Eriokanmi:The budget is not completely financed by loans. 1.57 billion dollars is what we are getting from the world bank in this year's budget. The budget is over 30 billion dollars, and it's derived from national income from oil and gas receipts, tax etc.. Of course Nigeria will continue to take DEVELOPMENT loans. |

Franking:The US federal govt does not own or run stadiums. There's no 'national stadium' in America. Stadia, theatres etc are all left to the states to build and run. Nigerian states are not as rich as American states, hence the FG involvement in building major infrastructural facilities. |

Atuero:WE need to borrow, because we do not earn enough as a country to develop the country. Mr Man, your annual budget for 250 million people is 30 billion USD. South Africa with 60 million people, their budget is 120 billion dollars. USA with 300 million people, has an annual bufget of 7 TRILLION dollars. So Nigeria needs loans to beef up its budget. What she does NOT need loans for is to spend on 10 billion dollar worth of fuel subsidies per annum!!!!! |

Topman7:Same rhetoric, why measuring our budget in dollars? You claim there is enough revenue now, hence my question for why borrowing...... aggregate all the states and LG budget and add to that of FG and that's the net budget of Nigeria. |
| Re: Tinubu Orders Full, Comprehensive Upgrade Of MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja by Topman7(op): 8:14am On Dec 24, 2024 |
Atuero:Why should you not measure your budget in dollars? The aggregate is the 30 billion USD. |

Eriokanmi:Are you comprehending the 2025 budget upside down, where did Federal government told you there borrowing money for payment of salary? Such practices ended with Buhari Administration, Nigeria now have more money that doubled FAAC allocation to States, Nelfund, Minimum wage increment, Capital Projects, Refineries upgrade/upgrading, Infrastructure development, Reasonable security, Offset of Loan, local & international etç If you listen well, Mr President said in the interview that for the past 3 months now, he has never needed any money from NNPC and he has never collected any dime from them and he's meeting his obligations smoothly . Go and watch the video well and stop showing your ignorance here. |

Eriokanmi:What percentage would be financed with loan? Only about 28%. So, it is commendable that 72% of our budget would be financed with our projected revenue |
