Is this GPA /4 or /5? Ideally, you should have at least a second class upper which would be a 3.5/5 if you want to do a PhD directly from a bachelors degree. In fact most people who go directly to a PhD from bachelors from other countries to the US typically have a first class. If you have an additional masters degree then it can increase your chances if you don’t have a first class.


That said, you can check out phd in chemistry university of Connecticut . I know they offer full funding to students.

Best to apply separately. There is no group application in Nigeria for now

Normally, the school sends the i20 together, starting with the F1. Though, it's together but you will send it separately by splitting it. You will upload the one of f2 with one starting with f2. Hope you understand.

My resumption date is 23rd of January
Yes, I signed my I 20
And yes I’ve paid my SEVIS fee
Concerning uploading clear copy of the I 20 ( I snapped it, i did not scan)

But i’ve just uploaded it again. I’ve scanned it clearly and I’ve uploaded it again just now.

And can this also be the cause of the rejection…. On my DS 160 form, the date of arrival i put there is 20th and I still put the same date as date of travel when they asked on the AVITS website I.e before the pre approval stage

Form this information you have given, I don't see any reason why your had that rejection. Anyways as you have uploaded another scanned copy of your i-20, kindly create a ticket also concerning this issue. They might give you a logic reason why you had the rejection

Is it not too late? If one resumption is January 13, and goes for interview that January is it not too close? Is it not better to defer to fall intake?

I’m also resuming in January, the only issue is getting a good date for your interview. You can also expedite and ask for an emergency appointment. The only thing here is for you to first leave the pre-approval stage.

Yes I created a ticket, but they said they are not able to give a reason why it was rejected

If you use the same Avits profile, you have to pay your visa fee first, pass the preapproval stage and get an approval to book an appointment before you can start filling the ds 160 of your dependent(s) and repeat the same. They do not accept group applications at once. Someone advised us to do it separately.
You can use the same laptop to do that but not on the same profile. You can open different tabs.

Once it's time to book appointment, you can book the appointment together using different phones and laptop depending on how many dependent and you can book same date and time. You have to be fast in choosing the date. Hope you understand.

Seems like you’ve gotten pst the pre-approval stage you were complaining about, right?
