obedience4:Comprehension is often a weakness among individuals who lack the ability to think for themselves. To clarify, I never once compared the platforms in China and the U.S. in terms of direct competition. What I’m suggesting is that creating a homegrown alternative is always best for the sake of sovereignty. Any country that seeks to establish itself as a global powerhouse, now or in the future, will never allow a foreign company to control its national affairs. Not only is this unreliable, but it also poses a security risk. Without being specific, we can see how certain powers raise alarms about national security when a foreign company, not under their influence, begins to gain global traction. Take TikTok, for instance. It’s being targeted simply because some believe it’s connected to China. This is largely because TikTok holds the record for the highest social media engagement rate per post, making it the most engaged social media platform in the world. Similarly, Huawei, a technological powerhouse, was banned from certain markets because it wasn’t part of the Western sphere of influence, like Apple. It was falsely labeled as a security threat, even though the same Western internet infrastructure was originally developed for military purposes before being opened up to civilian use. Smart individuals understand that all Western tech is essentially spyware, but what choice do people have, especially in Africa, where alternatives are scarce? China and Russia have developed alternatives to Western tech both software and hardware not out of competition, but due to concerns about security and reliability. Just months ago, a global outage affecting Microsoft led to the cancellation of over 5,000 flights worldwide, but neither Russia nor China was affected. You see my point? I’m not comparing the U.S. to any other country, as they clearly maintain a technological edge, particularly in the software sector. However, their pursuit of dominance, backed by the power of the U.S. dollar, which gives rise to sanctions, stifles competition from other nations globally. When a country outside the Western sphere of influence creates a competitive product, the U.S. will either force them to sell out or use espionage allegations as a form of blackmail to drive them out of the market. They control global media, and anything they say is easily accepted by those with feeble minds. You might find this as a bias assertion geared towards your masters, but it doesn't rule out the collective facts my friend. |

Procashtips:Currently, Turkey has the edge because of their technological advantage. But if Iran survives the first six months, it's an open question. Gotta say, it will easily be one of the most evenly-matched wars in modern history. I too will never put my money on the Mullahs. They're capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. -Lord |

Procashtips:That's true. But who knows how long the current leadership will remain in power if Turkey bloodies Iran's nose. Also, a capitulation is probably not on the cards. So any hot conflict will lead to a Treaty. Both sides will go regroup, then restart hostilities. Read up on the Ottoman-Persian Wars. My take on a potential conflict is that it is an academic exercise. Too much to lose: too little to gain; to make it practical. The only thing Iran can do is go on the offensive against Turkish interests in Eurasia. But they already have their hands full with Israel+US+UK. -Lord |

Let me state for the upmost time the bone of contention is not about having an alternative for US made apps but the dominance of US apps in the world. Masterviolence:I am tempted to reply you once more. Your assertion about tiktok being targeted due to having the highest engagement per post is false. Wait....... Do you know anything about data? What do you think Facebook is selling? Where do you think the spam emails you receive come from? You think they just guessed your email address? Or they used a random email address generator software? 😂😂 Dey play my fans. And did you say tiktok is the most engaged social media platform in the world? Are you living under a rock? A platform with with 5.30% engagement rate on accounts with over 100k followers is what you call the most engaged? But first, I need you to define "engagement." You can't reason like this and expect me to listen to you on complex topics like "multi polarism." Now, let's properly school you. Listen, it ain't about engagement, it's about personal data. Data and personal info is a multi billion dollar industry that is not going down anytime soon. Tiktok app has the hidden ability to monitor your keyboard clicks. For instance, if you enter your banking app or another website via tiktok, there is a 90% chance that they already know your password. You don't have to believe me, it's a choice. Take it or leave it. The personal data of people, especially important people can give out sensitive info about the whole security architecture of a whole country. Your data, i.e, what you do online tells a whole damn lot about you. Social media like tiktok and co can know the next move of a military commander based on his interests. These interests he or she unknowingly reveals through their activities on such social platforms. Such platforms can know what you intend to do. Lemme give you a spoiler alert. This ain't western media bull shit or anything. If a girl is pregnant, Facebook and Google have an 80% chance of knowing that she is pregnant. How? Such an individual will most likely use the internet to search for info that relate to her condition or what is happening to her at that present moment. With the help of cookies that have been placed on your browser, those cookies then report back to Facebook, twitter, Google etc telling them what you did on another website, the pages you visited and how long you spent on it. In that way, they assemble all your data and make a near perfect prediction about you and your state of being and even what you intend to do or what you are likely to do. And finally, put in a very good Data Analyst who knows the in and outs of database management. You are a gonner One more time please, how exactly did you manage to earn a certificate if this is how you reason things Before you call my bluff, I earned a certificate in Data analysis on Coursera. This ain't about western media BS. I know the power of data. |

Now, let's put all the jargons I wrote above into a real life scenario. A commander is at war and upon hearing that his unit just immobilized an enemy unit and a promotion is awaiting him. What are the things he has done when he is extremely happy? Remember, these things could be up to a hundred or hundreds. The data analyst then narrows it down to the most probable. 1. He is going to visit his mistress. 2. He may share the news on telegram 3. He may go to drink in a bar. Etc That info has already been passed over by a social media platform that cooperates with the armed forces, most of them actually do. They simply wait for him to make the move they are expecting and voila!!!! How exactly did they know he was going to be in that particular location when they liquidated him since security forces already make arrangements to safeguard on tracking That's the power of data for you |

Gbadebo19:You talk without sense. DuckDuckGo is an American search engine. It was founded by Americans and is headquarted in the US. It has nothing to do with China. So, what is the point of comparing it with Google when talking about China. And what is Baidoo? Is it located in Baba principal's house or at your local joint where you buy agbo? The one we know is Baidu and not Baidoo. Baidu is a search engine in China. It is not a social networking site, so there is little sense in comparing it with Facebook. |

Gbadebo19:Baidu has shown very little interest in competing on a global scale. You don’t even need to be told that, it is common sense. Just look at Baidu’s homepage and you will see that it is written in Chinese and not English. That should tell you something. China has 1.4 billion people. That is a large enough market for anything. Even having 10% of that market is more than enough. But Baidu has almost 700 monthly users. That is half of China’s population. |

When did the actions of the smallest minority become the yardstick for measuring the activity of "Nigerians" If he said Nigerians do not buy meat online, it is basic knowledge that he is simply referring to the vast majority not that ALL Nigerians do not buy meat online. Your hypocrisy stinks. |

obedience4:Baidu doesn't want people outside of China to use it. It serves its homepage in Chinese irrespective of where you are searching from. You also cannot sign up for a Baidu account without a Chinese phone number. If Baidu wanted to become an "international company" as you are trying to suggest, it would definitely serve its homepage in the language of the visitor (the way Google does) and will not require Chinese phone numbers to sign up. It may even create "international versions" as companies like TikTok have done. And as for the second part, what do you mean by "legal man Gbadebo." That is a new one. Did you avoid calling him a lawyer because he didn't go to law school? I somehow feel bad for him though I like the name. I too will call him legal man from henceforth 😂😂😂 |

He is just an idiot. We can as well say Indians do not want their movies outside of India, that's why they speak Hindi. It was movies that sold Indian culture to the world. People fell in love with Indian culture and their ways through their movies at at time when they never spoke English in their movies nor even translated it. One fool is here showing how transparent his head is. The individual above me is just too worthless to engage in an argument. A person's brain capacity would only go down!!! What a walking corpse. Mtcheeew!!!! And this one too will have children? ☹️☹️ Person wey dem suppose castrate so as to reduce the number of dumb brains we have in Nigeria. |

shoodboi2:Baidu is available worldwide. Baidu is publicly Listed on NASDAQ in the US There's is Baidu English which is available to the world, Also Baidu Japanese. They are multiple interface of Baidu depending on your language preference so you can use translators. Same way Chinese people would have to translate English to Chinese when using Google, people outside china would have to translate Chinese to English. P.s me calling him the "legal man" is a compliment to his personality. How many people can study law in college and pass out successfully?? Dude already has the foundation in law and he can build on it. He can go to law school anytime he chooses that shouldn't be your problem. How many people on this thread are currently using what they study in college to work today?? |

Gbadebo19:We are talking about search engines and software here and not movies. So stick to search engines and software and stop distracting us with movies. Everyone knows that movies intended for audiences that do not speak the language spoken by the actors are usually dubbed or have translated captions so that people who cannot understand the language can at least read it on their screen. Or how many Nigerian have you seen watching Indian movies that don't have translation? But that is not the issue. You are dumb but not dumb to the point where you cannot comprehend that. You can. Legal man, the talk is about software and search engines. So, stick to that and don't distract us with movies. |
