Anybody can rate anything. Why is Peugeot 1 and Camry last?

Give the op reasons to follow your advice. Even a toddler can do this kind of rating.
You are displaying signs of lunacy for this comment.

My brothers.. Middleclass Nigerians have really bad taste in cars..

I really don't blame them though, in Nigeria, as a middleclass, even with your small money, you're still mentally poor..

Na for Nigeria you go see people dey argue say AC dey consume fuel. It's all poverty of the mind.
but AC consumes more fuel if the distance is short, otherwise it's fine for a long distance, let's sy driving for 1-2hrs.
Re: Which Of These Should I Go For As A First Car by ubest1(m): 6:44pm On Dec 24, 2024
Severally tried it in different cars AC don't consume fuel, overloading, poor firing system especially bad plugs & dirty filter make it look AC consume fuel, on a stable engine u won't even know when AC is on

AirBere:
It depends on your line of argument.

Do you mean that Nigerians complain too much? I'll say yes.

In the UK precisely Scotland where I stay, the line of thinking is different and it's true that the average Nigerian is mentally poor which I also agree.

But the fact is that AC consumes fuel. May be not much but this is fact. Without doing your research via Google, you can put it to test with your own ride.

Drive same distance without AC and same distance with AC fully powered on and check your fuel consumption level.

May be not by much but AC do consume more fuel...this is fact!

the distance covered also determines. The shorter the distance with AC, the more your fuel will gulp. But for a longer distance with speed above 80kph, your fuel consumption with Ac will be fine.

Look for camry that's not v6! Or else pick the Honda if it ain't v6 as well.

Or tune it down and get toyota corolla between 2010 - 2013
You people with your poverty mentality Corolla.
God forbid.

I'd recommend the Lex.

False.
miketayo:
This is a lie... I barely see cars older than 10years here. By next year a 2014 car can't be used for Uber, plus it's difficult to pass the safety check with older cars. They will deem it not worthy for roads.
Re: Which Of These Should I Go For As A First Car by 2cribz: 6:57pm On Dec 24, 2024
It will open your eyes,ud be able to k ow what to chang3,what to check, etc on your next big car wey go be from 08 2010 model.
AirBere:
This advice is not very bright as it leaves alot to be desired. Why should I go for a 1996 model in order to learn about cars?

Well, may be your advice is for the middle class. When you're big, go for what you want.

Considering my age, my first car wasn't even 2006 model and believe me I've learnt alot about car. So much that my curiosity led me to driving trucks but just for the fun. I'm not a pro truck driver.

Lexus best of them all, followed by the Accord, followed by Peugeot but buy that if you are closer to North last but not the least is the plastic Camry grin
When you realize a camry XLE V6 is same as a lexus ES 350, you go rest.

The XLE in camry ain't the same as the LE or SE.

I'm not talking things from the net.

I'm talking from experience.

Anything that pulls power from your engine consumes fuel. Out of curiosity I have tested it within the city and highway. The heater doesn't consume as much ( I stay in Canada by the way) but it does.
If you are a fan of drag race or car shows like Top gear, you would notice they make sure the AC is turned off before racing because of the power it pulls. Ask experienced mechanics or drivers they will tell you the same. I have been driving since 2003 btw
I understand you bro so it's not like I'm arguing with you but you said you have been driving since 2003 and live in Canada I'm glad you said that. I have been driving since 1998 no disrespect, and I usually use to say exactly same thing you are saying before I realized otherwise. There are cars that consume fuel with or without Ac for sure. Like a Lincoln navigator I had. That car was a killer even without Ac. When you use a camry V6 compared to the normal one, it consume more fuel with or without Ac. Now I want to just clarify you on the fact that using the heater of a car requires more power than that of Ac so those that build these cars from countries they need more of the heater than Ac already know how they have put everything in place.

The only thing we ignore here in Africa is the size of the engine of the car we use and that is why this statement of car consuming feul with Ac is common. I had a Kia Sportage I usually sleep inside sometimes when I was in school just when there is no light at night. I will sleep from like 10pm till 4am with the AC on and the fuel gauge don't shake one but. Now to shock you when I changed to a Toyota new big sienna and did same, it was same result. When I travelled with both cars and observed the fuel stuff using Ac my brother nouch difference. And the sienna had two ac cylinders ooo. Let me not add my range Rover sport so it's not like I'm bragging.

The point is that using Ac does not determine much about fuel consumption bro, trust me.

Four cylinder engines ain't poor. Being poor depends on the engine size. 1.1,1.2,1.4,1.6,1.8 till 2.7 litres are mostly 4 cylinders, but don't function the same way.
This Camry shown here has its 2.4 litres and is not bad in speed and performance for a modest human being.

In fact, if a speed demon handles it, even a V6 won't catch up. So soundness of engine and driver's experience also count in driving.

If fuelling ain't a problem for him, he should get the Camry or Lexus.
I am not talking about speed but reliability.
The Camry 4cyl has been reported to have certain issues like shorting of oil etc.

Besides, Camry is known for poor 4-cylinder engines.
Hmm, can you expatiate on this please? Are you inferring the Honda is better at producing the v4s?

Thank you for this ..

Many folks think because they have hit a jackpot and next thing is to buy the latest car ..

LoooooL

They usually learn the hard way irrespective of whether they have money or not .

Cars maintenance/ faults have a way of draining you mentally and emotionally.

I totally subscribe to your analysis.
Funny enough you'll spend more maintaining an old car than a recent car.

An old car already has dilapidated parts that'll always require servicing while a more recent car might still be able to serve for a while before going down.
