COMRADES, after logging out of Nairaland, I watched the last documentary on Aljazeera before going to bed with my phone's battery fully charged the day before yesterday, but waking up yesterday's morning, I was left with 2% of active battery. Why? Popped in messages from MTN network had run-down the battery, today too, I had the same terrible experience. Anytime MTN sends the flash message, the phone remains awake till when I discovered it, if not, the phone goes off completely, my case was somehow better, some customers complained that, sometimes, when such a message pops in, they mistakenly okay the fraudulent offers the company sets at a certain price. I made several complaints to the network provider about this ill treatment, the call representative would assure me that the issue was resolved but the challenge still persists I remember, in 2006/2007, because of these kinds of insubordination and ill treatment of customers, the Nigerian Communication Commission has ordered the company to compensate each of her customers with the sum of #300-500, respectively. Again, there was another compensation that the company was ordered to pay as a result of poor service, though, I couldn't remember the year The company has been very stubborn to the dictate or instructions of her regulator, some time ago, NCC has passed a memor banning the sells of preregistered lines, there was a reasonable compliance from the other telecommunication companies, but MTN had disregarded the order and continued selling unregistered Sim cards to the members of the public without a single compliance, and this act of disobedience has infuriated NCC, and NCC slammed a fine of 56billion Naira on MTN MTN had no other options left on her table than to involve politics in the matter, the company then invited the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa to come to her aids and liaise politically with the then President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari before the amount was drastically reduced. Not long ago, a certain Nigerian lawyer too has sued the telecommunication giant for the invasion of his privacy (spamming), Court of Appeal then listened to his prayers and granted his appeal and fined the telecommunication giant the sum of #15million for invading the privacy of her customers with unsolicited messages. In spite of that, MTN isn't yet ready to back out from such acts What do you think will compel MTN to obey the laws of Nigeria and also to have the uttermost respect or regards for her customers?

They are the highest tax payer. Money must be made to pay more tax. Is the customers choice to click OK or not. |

Chimarto:Another annoying thing is that, even if you clicked on 'not interested', before the sun sets, you'll still receive another rounds of the nonsense flash messages |

I have never been mistakenly caught by this their fraudulent act. I don't click either cancel or ok button; I just press middle button to make it go background while I click back on what I was doing before the popup and when I get time, I delete directly from messages even without reading most times |

It popped up on my phone so many times unexpectedly, if you are not careful or run out of lucky, you mistakenly click ok. They start deducting, sometimes it's difficult to unsubscribe from it. Sometimes, it popped up twice or thrice a day. |

The problem is that ncc does not have any known address where you can report these service providers otherwise, it is just a matter of reporting them to ncc. |
