I realized this fact late:

At 20s.... What will people say

At 30s..... I won't let what people say bother me much

Now at 40.... I realized it's all in my head, people are not saying anything because whatever they said about you yesterday, they have forgotten about it today and start saying another thing. So whatever they say is very inconsequential and should never let you loose your focus!
Well said

Is house the only asset one can get?

I am not against getting a house but don't get it with all your savings while you are still young.

If after buying a house you won't have at least half of the house worth in savings, don't touch it.

Leave that to old people.

You can do what works for you sha. It's a free world.
This reminds me of a guy who said he bought land while his friend was telling him to invest same money into bitcoin then.

Now bitcoin worths way way more than the land.

There are several low risk investments you can do because I understand that many are just risk averse. You just need to make your research.

If you don't know any investment then invest in yourself to put yourself in the best position to make more.

Buying a land and building a house isn't what you should be doing with your total savings as a young person.

Your purpose should be bigger than money. You are at an age that makes you a figure of influence. Be a better source of influence to people around you.

Just an advice.

Are you still serving in the British Army?
How are you able to stay in Nigeria for long without being required to be on duty?

sslcrypt:
Lots of confessions, well the only opportunity I had to travel to the UK I used it collect passport via serving in the British army.

So young folks schooling in the UK you can give it shot, I don't know if it's still on tho. Nigeria is a common wealth country and your visa enabled you meet other requirements.

Especially those studying engineering or in the medical field, it's an avenue to get the UK residence. I got mine years ago, so I can go and come niaja as I want. Currently in Nigeria tho because running business here is lot easier.

The feeling of being 40.
You can't run fast again.
In your mind, you're still thinking you are Ronaldo or Usain Bolt. But in real life,
You can't run. Even if you try it,
back pain, waist pain will follow, Daily.
Even without doing anything, body pains
Does this also affects your sex life?

Returning to Nigeria from South Africa where I was making the right connections and after I moved I lost them. One contact I made who lived in the same apartment complex in Pretoria West then is now a a key political figure and chairman in Osun State very close to the governor but I have no access to him anymore as I lost contact. Seeing him on the internet and tv breaks my heart cos he liked me so much for being a very quiet and ambitious young fellow.

Exchanging my Bitcoin for naira to buy a house which I later sold for a business that didn't pan out. My Bitcoin worth would have been around 135million today at current market price.

Cutting off good ladies who really loved me and settling for an ibo demon in a relationship for 8 years and simping wasting time and resources, I am unmarried now because I do not trust ladies anymore except for a chick from a wealthy home who I am wondering what she sees in me cos she doesn't care about my current financial status

Cutting of acquaintances because I was expecting perfection from people forgetting the world and everything in it stands on "balance" and not judgement.

Being an introvert and not going out very often anymore as I lost a lot of good people who really liked me but because I was egoistic and thinking because I had the favour of God I would not need people anymore forgetting God and the devil works through people and I must learn to live and tolerate humans.

Being too churchy and allowing religious teachings to cloud my judgement instead of reading the Bible and knowing God for myself but later realising that the most cruel humans can also be found in church male and female.

Fucking a bad luck pvssy. Money just dry for person hand until I cut her off

I am still an introvert due to the many mistakes and bad decisions I took but I have now decided to put myself out there but don't know how to start anymore as all my friends are either out of the country or married or dead...

I'm also 36...i've been married for 6 years. i have two kids. When i got married, i wasnt sure it was the right thing to do. i just wanted companionship. The first 4 years of my marriage was almost unbearable, as i was jobless throughout. My wife had a job, i started learning how to trade the foreign exchange market cos i was tired of searching for a job. My wife disrespected me...long story short, i took a lot of shit from her. Not that she was feeding the house, cos i was, but she would leave for her job, leaving me with my daughter who was tender at the time. I could hardly concentrate on the skill i was learning. As much as i failed in Forex, i learned even more. Fast forward to today, i pay my wife 3 times what she earns so that she can stay at home and look after the kids. i have all the time to do my business, i got my first Car and land last year, 2025 will be great for me, i'm confident. i remember how i was very close to walking out of my marriage. During those few years after marriage, i envied the unmarried, cos marriage was a hindrance to me achieving my goal. i couldve achieved my goal faster if i wasnt married....the lesson, bro is that you have to build yourself before getting married. if you have a skill you want to learn, its now. You really have to have a steady source of money before you get married. in my case, it got to the point my wife did not get wet for me. we didnt have sex for long periods....bro, leave marriage, get money with all the time you have now. You will not regret it.

Introvert doesn't stop progress..,.

It's just that certain things in this life are beyond human control...

Even if you like be an extrovert...

Doesn't stop you from being stagnant and confused.

Most especially if you are born in Africa.

You loose aalot of opportunities.

During my undergraduate days, focusing more on reading and reading stead of thinking how to make money as well.
I can confidently tell you this assertion affected a lot of undergraduates from poor/average backgrounds.

It's still affecting many up till this moment.

Nigeria really has nothing tangible or worthwhile to offer most of her citizens.

My Regrets Are👇

1. Being Too Honest as a Nigerian.

I realized late but not too late that being Too Honest won't really take you far in Nigeria. Just be a good human being. That's enough.

2. Figured out late the Nigerian system.

This affected my carrier a lot until i developed sense. I was very elated it wasn't too late.

That's All.

Parents please do not allow your children pursue a career in Nigeria. There is no professional career now in Nigeria that will guarantee you financial freedom. You will just suffer and pay bills.

Sad thing it was never always like this APC is a real curse to humanity

Send dem to study abroad or push dem towards a business oriented line
Many Nigerian Parents are still towing this stagnant and destructive path till this moment.

I personally know lots of supposed graduates who still resides in "A Rented One Room Apartment" with their Parents presently.

This is very prevalent in LAGOS STATE.

Mike Adenuga owner of GLo is an introvert..

Femi Otedola the known billionaire is an introvert..

You can be an introvert and still be smart to identify meaningful relationships that will help you without necessarily being the going out type.
Are you minding him.

I do not just want to blast him.

Only if he knew 90% of The World Controllers are Introvert. One would hardly see them in public space or on screen.

PS: I'm not referring to your regular powerful people you see on your Tv screen, The likes of Biden, Putin, Elon and All. Those ones are Puppets, and the funny thing is most of these Biden, Putin and All are still mostly Introverts.

Although he has a point in the sense that, In Nigeria Clime, It is not advisable to be an INTROVERT most especially if you are from a Poor/Average Background and to cap it all, The person is not Intelligent. Such person will most likely suffer financially because Nigeria is a Loud society filled with Talkatives, Owambe and Pokenosing people. Anyone who doesn't know how to talk and relate with people (Ko Ni Ayoyo) will most likely be financially poor except the person is from a Rich/Wealthy Background.

In most Cases, Nigerians don't help or assist if you don't TALK or ASK.

Many Nigerian would even see you as Arrogant if you are an Introvert and they won't want to relate with you😂

Personally i won't advise or wish anyone from Poor/Average Backgrounds and yet not Intelligent to be an Introvert in Nigeria clime.

I regret being too quiet, peaceful and understanding.

i'm 35 years old and a middle child in my family. My parents figured out that i was the easiest child to deal with. i didnt get angry when i was cheated on, i easily forgave, i obeyed without complain.

Today, my elder brother who is a year older than me is in Alberta, Canada, He moved this time last year with his wife and kid. He was given all the authority in the family with the demise of my father. He had two cars which he sold before he travelled.

My younger brother who is 32 years old has been in Wisconsin, USA since 2020. He was considered the black sheep of the family. You couldve seen the way my parents spoke about him before he travelled. To them, he was the one who brought shame and embarrassment to the family. He was dating this girl with plenty money in the U.S, she came to Lagos just after his NYSC in 2020, they got married and she took him to the states. Right now, he's moms favorite.

Then there's me, i've tried to be more of a go getter, but i'm still struggling. i wish i did what i wanted, i wish i didnt always want to be in the good books of my parents, maybe, just maybe, i wouldve been in a better place.

Having a Child with someone I couldn't build a life with.

When I think about it, it hurts that no matter how it goes, my daughter may never know what it means to have two loving biological parents doting on her without making it look like a competition.
These are the types of Regrets i usually pray against everyday of my life and i'm always being careful because i perfectly understand its Dire Consequences.

Sorry man, It is well with you.

I'm in my late 20's, and here's what I've discovered:

If you're from Nigeria, there's no bad hustle except killing and kidnapping fellow humans. Do whatever it takes to escape poverty, but if it's illegitimate, plan to leave early after you've planned well.

Develop essential skills, and if possible, learn a handwork at a young age.

Work on your communication skills.

If you're born into poverty and you've never tasted a good life, marrying at a survival level is bad for you, and you might never recover from generational poverty.

There's no honesty when it comes to deals between two people—there'll always be a wise person and a foolish one at the end of the day, which one are you.

Stick to logical reasoning instead of emotions; it will pay off in the long run.

Never buy into the short-term game. Always focus on the long-term.

Your reputation is your life. Secure it in whatever way you can.

Religion is different from spirituality. Most Africans are born into religions where men and organizations act as intermediaries between you and God. But God is there, and you can develop a personal relationship with Him. Never invest your time into religion unless there's a personal interest involved.

I requested for a 2 month off from my place of work, then told my "friends" that I've been laid off and that I've lost all my life's saving in a ponzi scheme. Gradually they started avoiding me, including my baby. I was looked down upon and treated like trash. It was there I knew that I had the wrong people around me, I just had to cut them off and focus on myself.
TheUnderCover deleted that thread of his but it seems you played this part. I found where someone else posted it

Xenry:
I think you should be real first before faking your downfall.
LOYALTY TESTING, SIMULATE YOUR DOWNFALL:
“Simulate your downfall to see who folds and sells you out. Loyalty is gauged in the face of failure, not success.” -IM
It is often possible to simulate your downfall; make it look like everything is falling apart, when in reality everything is perfectly fine. Do this, see who stays loyal, and who abandons you.
The appearance of catastrophe has to last for at least a few months. With most of the mercenaries surrounding you, it is unlikely that they will abandon you the day after your downfall comes; for most it will take at least a few weeks.
If a person stays loyal even after 3 months of you appearing to have been destroyed, you can safely assume their loyalty is real.
This may sound like a drastic and unnecessary exercise in deception in return for nothing. In reality, it is a deception that serves a critical purpose; finding out who the real loyalists are.

You cannot build an empire on the backs of mercenaries. History is filled with kings who were destroyed by their closest allies abandoning or outright backstabbing them.
Betrayal from your allies is far more dangerous than any attack from an enemy. In the case of backstabbing, the closer someone is to you the easier it will be for them to destroy you since they are more familiar with your vulnerabilities than anyone else. In the case of abandonment, the closer someone is to you the more you depend on them, and so it is all the more damage that their disappearance will cause.
There is one limiting factor; the downfall you simulate must be easily reversible, so that you can make everything appear normal (good) after you are done with the simulation.
