DUMB move!

It's this lack of continuity that CRIPPLES a nation. The donations were made to the Ministry. NOT the Minister.

The fact that she was booted out does NOT necessitate the REVERSAL of the donations.

Or have the little CHILDREN hawking on dangerous roads suddenly VANISHED just because she got sacked?

REFUNDING the donations meant to help the kids just because she won't be there to oversee it is not a sign of virtue.

It's the hallmark of STUPIDITY and WICKEDNESS!
Oga !! the programme was her initiative, her own goal and the ministry was a perfect platform she decided to use.

stop being paranoid, we all know continuity is not a culture here, new regime new programme, her successor will either loot the fund or use it for another something else

it is best she made a refund than have that money looted by some criminal element in the ministry cos naa there way

It will be very hard for a good hearted person to be in any position under this current Tinubu government. They like bad and evil people to be in position to afflict pain on the people and not this kind of good hearted woman

Reversing the money was the best thing because the first thing the new minister would do with such money is to corner it because it was not budgeted for and wasn't part of his obligation as a minister. So we call this Pet project.

Watch the full interview...I mean from the beginning to the end not just this clip alone..

If you noticed, when she was sacked, all her subordinates were jumping in jubilation..one said "Na only her know pass" another said "She go chop she no want make another person chop", another said "wicked woman"..

This shows that this woman did not allow a lot of corruption to be perpetrated during her time,, and then she was exposing a lot.. remember she had 1-2 interviews prior to her being sacked... The interview where Seun choked her with questions on how she spent a unreasonable amount to fuel her convoy...

I am not saying she's entirely clean but then she wasn't bending to some of the atrocities they wanted her to engage in...

If they are to list underperforming ministers
There were a lot of them
1. Minister of Blue Marine
2. Minister Of Power
3. Minister Of Sports
4. Minister of oil and petroleum resources
5. Minister Of Agriculture

But then none of these people were touched....

Something is fishy..
Leave bitterness and think well..

calm down bro. 1st, the initiative was hers not part of the initial budget or plan of the ministry. Then she went all out to source fund and people donated because they trusted her to deliver. If the new minister really care let him or her prove his dedication and he will have the fund right back.

Otherwise let the gud meaning business men investment their money rather than leave it to be embezzled by corrupt politicians

I watched the interview and at least have followed her activities in the office for some time. From the first day I watched her on Television, I expressed my view about her. She may have a good heart but she does not understand her official roles. So, she was running things as a director of an NGO. She could raise money to run things for her Pet projects but not as a Minister. In the interview, she also mentioned that she was resolving issues among couples. She made a reference to even getting to know sometimes that it's only 100k that causes problems between husband and wife and she would just give them. Such is too unofficial to be seen done by a Minister. She may need to learn protocols! She is a good person, no doubt, but official roles have rules of engagement

Bet wait, I don't understand oh. If this was a pet project, why did they still sack her cos she got the donations into her personal account?

She should return it so another person can steal it abi is it not Nigeria again? Whoever replaced her may not share in the vision of what she was doing and may divert the money.

Sent to your personal account? That wasn't the standard practice.
If you'd done it right, your replacement would have continued where you stopped. You'd have been able to talk about that achievement today.

On top, consider the donations going into her personal account instead of a special dedicated account and setting transparency control even before asking for the donations.

First- these monies were part of the reason she was sacked! She was fond of using official letter head, Tinubu’s name and govt venues to raise money deceitfully for private purposes. For Christ sake - she even used official letter head to invite big boys for her husband’s birthday party all because she wanted them to give her gifts.Second- she did not return all of the money. She still has not returned Over 150 million went into her account and that of her son- the only ones she returned were the ones that entered the account of her NGO because she heard it had being reported to EFCC. The woman is a crook and a bold face LIAR. She is an actress so she knows how to pretend. Her Modus operandi was to hide behind care for the poor to embezzle money. She will give you 100k in front of the camera and go and write for the ministry to refund her 1m naira. She attacked the UN because they refused to divert funds into her personal account. Disrupted events because they refused to pay money into her son’s account. She is very brazen. She is desperately campaigning and lobbying to be made head of an agency now. All these media appearances are to convince Tinubu that she is a good woman. She is paying heavily for him to remove social welfare from ministry of health into a new agency for her where she will have direct control over the money. A woman who diverted most of the okrika bales that were given to her for poor women! It is difficult to explain her kind of greed - it is more than extreme! She better face her cheap acting career if not she will be exposed with evidence. She cannot be spreading lies against a whole ministry and people will keep quiet. Enough of the falsehood!

The money donated to me (by Nigerians like Authur Eze, Elumelu, etc.) for my project targeted at clearing street hawking children (5yrs to 12yrs) back to school was returned to them. I wrote to the bank to do a reversal as I got sacked before I could start the project.

I didn't touch a penny because I was supposed to use it in my capacity as a minister.

Must she be a minister to help people? Because they removed her as minister she decided to return the money that they donated . She does not deserve to hold any position. For Nigeria to move forward we need leaders that are selfless. MLK knew he wasn't going to be alive to enjoy equality but yet he strived and marched for many black people he never met or will meet and he was not a govt minister. Many western leaders plan projects that will benefit people unborn

I never cared about this woman. I don't even know her. But when I saw the viral video of workers in her former Ministry dancing and celebrating her being sacked, then I concluded that she must be the most upright and best Public Servant in Nigeria, since after the death of Prof Dora Akunyili.

For Nigerian Civil Servants, who are the most corrupt in the world, to rejoice like that, then I have known all I need to know about the woman.

If you think Nigerian politicians are more corrupt than your civil servants, then you are completely an Outsider.
Re: I Returned The Money Donated To Me - Uju Ohanenye (Video) by pfadom: 4:16am On Dec 27, 2024
She truly deserved to be sacked and resacked. Was she running a one-person show in the ministry? The project, though conceived by the minister, should have been ratified by the executive committee of the ministry and reported to the Federal Executive Council.

So why return the money donated to the ministry for specific projects? The money was not donated to the minister at all. Now I know she is grossly incompetent. What would happen if the project has started before her sack? She should have known that government is a continuum.

Since you're to do the project in your capacity as a minister, why did you turn yourself or the ministry to Al majiri? Was the project not part of your budget? If the answer is yes, why was the donation made into your personal account?

It Is always good to exercise some restraints and read comments about issues, before making any post. What I read here seems to come from an informed insider, probably a ministry official.
