Skelly get the audacity of Maitland Niles. Plus he's better with the ball at his feet. I hope he's superb at pk too.

1-nil to the Arsenal.

Arteta is so scared of getting caught in a counter attack he is having us hold on to possession aimlessly. This is becoming a recurring theme with how we play if we are offensive minded and it is annoying.

4 epl consecutive CS at the Emirates
Watching the highlights we didn't really play badly the keeper was just on point

We missed Partey seriously. I was looking at the attempts to halt IPS counter and all fruitless until they got to our box. Maybe that's his fear.

I don't really fancy his own solution for it. I'll rather he does something about the backline setup that chokes the middle up to reduce such happening.

I don’t think Partey’s inclusion would have changed much in terms of taking shots from outside or the final third.

When you look at our set up when we have possession, we are pushing numbers into the box and our defenders are also well past the center circle.

Arteta is worried if we take shots and it doesn’t score or rebounds the wrong way, we will suffer counter attacks. So, he resorts to holding possession, move the ball side to side and walk the ball into the net as opposed to taking any shots.

There was one instance before the end of the first half I think, Gabu was in perfect position for a shot from outside but guess what? He chose to pass the ball, because of the fear of being the last man and if the shot doesn’t score or rebounds, we will suffer a bad counter. He wants to eat his cake and have it.

I didn’t think Ipswich sat deep throughout the game, they came out several times and pressed us from their top and nearly capitalized.

I think with more training and matches together, Martinelli can be linking well with Odegaard on that right wing, but it will surely be something different with Saka being there.

I think Nwaneri will do better at RW. I was surprised he didn't play him yesterday.

At least for the sake of control and easy recoveries. Odegaard won't need to drop deep like he did yesternight. Odegaard had to play so close to Saliba and Timber and his misplaced passes and ball loss were annoying, enough to ginger any opponent.

DaveP, do you think city's current form is connected to Haaland's poor goalscoring run?
