I was even being economical by saying 20 duplexes. Even in Lagos alone, there are up to 1 million different house owners. There are at least another 1 million business owners in Lagos who are worth more than that amount and still don't own any house.
1 million different house owners in Lagos alone?

This is where I call Lamba. 😀

What is the population of Lagos first?

So there are at least 1 million different house owners in Lagos, add the value together with all their other income from work, business, rent etc and sum it up with all their expenses and you think they haven't seen up to 160M.

Lagos is generally a metropolitan state all through and it wouldn't be unheard of to value a house at an average of 100M.

If the smallest state has over a million different house owners, how much more other bigger states.
In one breath u are saying Lagos is a Metropolitan state (which suggests it is one of the most densely populated states) and in another breath u are saying it is the smallest state in a bid to downplay the fact that it actually has the most number of houses.

U are just running from pillar to pole.

I see how u stylishly avoided discussion around the value of the houses in Alinosho, Agege, AJeromi Ifelodun, Badagry, Amuwo Odofin, Epe, Ikorodu, etc

People are just pulling ridiculous narratives out of thin air, but I guess that’s okay in this little world called Nairaland. However, anyone who has worked hard for their money in a place like Nigeria knows better.

Minimum wage is less than 100k, but you believe say 90% go get assets and money worth N160mil in their life time. How?

N160million must be a joke to these people.

Azzzin ehn….people are just chatting sh1t. If dem dey see that kind money or their circle Dey see that kind money no mean say na so e be for every other person.

Let’s take a sample size from the population of those living in Lagos State.

How many people can we say earn more than 5 million annually? In Lagos alone, we have four major employers of labor: the government, the financial services sector, oil and gas, and telecom. Let’s even throw in tech companies, which cut across most industries. How many people can we say will earn more than N20million annually in the first two decades of their employment?
Now, let’s move away from corporate jobs and talk about petty traders, artisans, conductors, and so on. How many of those people do we actually think earn above N5 million annually?
It’s disgusting how people throw numbers around without any idea of how those numbers came about in the first place.

If you’ve ever earned money legitimately in Nigeria and you think 160 million is just pocket change, then I would like to know what you’re smoking.

if you are living under your your parents roof, 100k can seem like a lot of money - as you have minimum living expenses

how far will 100k go if you are paying rent, buying food daily, paying for electricity, water, etc?

bricklayers and keke riders do not even count money in per month - they literally live day to day

and a day they dont hustle is a day they dont eat.

Tell u the employers of those 10 million people and tell us how much they get paid that they would be able to amass ₦160m.

My environment dey extremely ok no worry about am. No be to Dey pluck numbers off your head and motivational write ups go provide for over 90% of Nigerians. You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about bro.

How many people you Dey pay salary in a month? Do you have a driver? A chef? Gate man? House help? How many people you Dey pay their salary in a month?

Do you own a business? How many employees you get?

When I ask you to keep kwayet earlier, I no mean am as fight….e get why.

Mr man Keke drivers dey remit 5 to 7k daily to their ogas. In some areas some even remit as much as 10k daily. There was a Keke driver the other day on the front page thanking God for saving up to 1.5million in 2024 from his Keke business. Bricklayers charges 7000 to 8000 per 100blocks. Bricklayer 7000, labourer 4 to 5k.

I shake my head at the irresponsibility of the next generation. They don’t seem to appreciate the uniqueness of the country they’re in or understand what it actually takes to make or earn a living.

Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have distorted their reality.

Where did I say anything about 100k being a lot of money. How is this your post relevant to the discussion. Go and look at the post diggz made. He literally believes people cannot make 100k monthly from hustling. You should be telling him not me.

you are countering your own argument

so if a person saves 1.5m in a year - that means it will take him 100 years to save 160m

while in a backbreaking job that has no career prospects. how long can the driver take to save to buy his own keke?

when i was employed - entry level staff came from middle and upper middle class. guys who schooled in covenant, who already had rides.
but they are the exception.

now i am running a business and i cannot pay rates for people like that.so we have to make do with the masses proper. you literally meet people who have one pair of broken down shoes , have dependents and who are two days away from hunger.
