Azzzin ehn….people are just chatting sh1t. If dem dey see that kind money or their circle Dey see that kind money no mean say na so e be for every other person.

Let’s take a sample size from the population of those living in Lagos State.

How many people can we say earn more than 5 million annually? In Lagos alone, we have four major employers of labor: the government, the financial services sector, oil and gas, and telecom. Let’s even throw in tech companies, which cut across most industries. How many people can we say will earn more than N20million annually in the first two decades of their employment?
Now, let’s move away from corporate jobs and talk about petty traders, artisans, conductors, and so on. How many of those people do we actually think earn above N5 million annually?
It’s disgusting how people throw numbers around without any idea of how those numbers came about in the first place.

If you’ve ever earned money legitimately in Nigeria and you think 160 million is just pocket change, then I would like to know what you’re smoking.
bro even to every Nigerian, no ones says its pocket change.but to say 90 percent won't see it during their lifetime is pure capping.

social media creates very weird bubbles and spreads a false narrative if you are locked into it

there was a day raum was saying a lot of nigerian students have iphones

current and former students on this board countered this

i remember a 100l level guy telling me that hushpuppy [before the fall] paid his driver 600k and i told him it is simply not possible.

Sorry to ask, but can you let me know if you’re an employee or an employer of labour? Also, could you share your estimated monthly wages?

By the way, can you tell me how those 90% of people you think will see this money in their lifetime are actually going to earn it?

also a possibility that they dont understand that being paid 80m to do a job does not MEAN you have 80m. you have what is left after you have executed the job.

the only people that can get paid 80m up front in full are entertainers or tied in government contractors

Here’s the post you responded to above. Can you show me where I claimed that most people can’t earn 100k monthly? Please take another look at the post and let me know how it translates into me saying that people won’t or can’t make N100k monthly.
Since you’re so invested in this conversation that you’ve started bringing up front-page topics from someone you don’t personally know, I’d like to ask you directly: Are you an employer, an employee, or self-employed person? Whatever you claim to be, can you please provide an estimated figure for your monthly earnings? I’d like to see something concrete.

Don’t come back with no bricklayer or keke man story abeg you. Just drop your personal experience as an adult please.

You are asking irrelevant questions. I don't need to share any of my personal experience or earnings with you. I didn't ask for your personal earnings. I hate people that can't have a simple discussion without throwing insults or act condescending. You have used the the words "kids" "stupid" " now you are asking if I am mentally ok. Do you think calling anyone a kid or stupid is going to make your argument superior? Back to the discussion.

Exactly! I’m still trying to understand how they arrived at their conclusions in the first place. I’m mentioning specific employers, so we can all come up with a rough estimate of earnings based on levels, length of service, and so on.
But these people are just talking rubbish about keke drivers and bricklayers.

Abeg, Izzou, I need your help here because I know you’re in the transport industry. Could you please let us know the estimated weekly or monthly earnings after these people (keke riders or bolt/uber drivers) make after their weekly returns? I’m not talking about the defaulters, ooooo….

The way you people just jump into a discussion to start capping . I asked this earlier question.

Melvyn11:
Do you mean like have 160million in their bank account at a point or spend/earn 160million in their lifetime?
Digz replied both which means that over 90% of Nigerians cannot earn/spend 160million in their lifetime. Then I replied that 5million yearly spending over 30years gives 150million which is close to that amount so I don't agree with his assessment. I am certain you yourself have spent at least 4milllion in 2024.

Tell aus what you mean by this. Everyone could see you were insinuating seankafor friends won't be able to afford an hustle that pays at least 100k monthly. If it's a lie tell then explain what you mean by that statement.
Point of correction: calling you a kid or stupid cannot be an insult if it’s the truth.

If you think me posing that question to Sean is meant to ridicule or insult him and his friends, then you’re even dumber than I thought. I asked him that question because the best way to analyse a situation sometimes is to use one’s immediate environment or experience.

If he is here talking about how people are making money, using his most recent environment—the university he graduated from—it’s not out of place for him to let us know how all his mates are now wealthy or on their way to hitting that N160 million, wouldn’t you agree? Like the famous phrase goes, "all hands are not equal’’. So, I know for a fact that all his mates aren’t progressing in life at the same rate and won’t achieve the same outcome when they exit this earth.
I graduated years ago, and I can categorically tell you that more than 70% of my classmates have yet to see that money. By the time we exit this earth, over 90% will end up not seeing it.

I asked you those pointed questions not because I was trying to be condescending or attack you in any way. I asked those questions because I’m curious to learn more about a person who thinks Keke riders who don’t own their own Keke are earning 100k per month after paying the owner. What that obviously tells me is that you’re full of sh1t and don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’m sorry if my tone was a bit much and if I used words that you find offensive. However, if you must come to a public forum to challenge any position, you need to do so with evidence to support your claims—not with blind emotions that reflect your age and make you sound dumb.

150 million over 30 years is 5 million per year

divide 5 million by 12 and is roughly 400k per month

now tell me how many nigerians earn 400k or more per month as salary or business earnings?

where is your arithmetic coming from?

how many jobs pay that much? how many jobs can afford to pay that much?

first off , it is mainly corporate private sector and federal govt employment that can pay that. state governments that are dragging 80k minimum wage cannot.

maybe 4 or 5 states in Nigeria support industries that can pay these wages .

so where are your 180 million nigerians earning 400k per month coming from?

There are at least 20 million different house owners in Nigeria. At least 10 million different house owners in Metropolis such as Lagos, Aba, Onitsha, Kano, PH, Asaba, Calabar, parts of Abuja etc.

No way 20M Nigerians don't worth or won't worth 160M in assest already owned, income yet to be made and expenses already incurred. This is more like an insult to Nigerians please. Do you even realize that 160M was 40M equivalent in 2019. Omo!!!
You are a silent tribal bigot grin cheesy grin grin

In one breath u are saying Lagos is a Metropolitan state (which suggests it is one of the most densely populated states) and in another breath u are saying it is the smallest state in a bid to downplay the fact that it actually has the most number of houses.

U are just running from pillar to pole.

I see how u stylishly avoided discussion around the value of the houses in Alinosho, Agege, AJeromi Ifelodun, Badagry, Amuwo Odofin, Epe, Ikorodu, etc
That's why I used average. For some houses are worth billions while some are worth multiple millions. A house a on plot of land in Agege will cost more than 80M while one in Oshodi will cost 100 to 120M. Those in gbagada will cost more and so on.

There are many things to look at to prove my point, Houses are just one of them.
