My favourite Afrobeat song is shooter by Chris Brown... cheesy cheesy cheesy
Well, technically Chris Browns songs don’t qualify because he’s black American….not even having any direct parental links to Africa.

Thought you would have picked Samantha by Tekno! I noticed most African ladies named Samantha love that song!
Re: Word Used By Nigerians But Not Found In The Dictionary? by seunayantokun(m):
Language is dynamic, and any language which is not dies. Invent words, create words, borrow words, etc. It's all okay, except that the current standard must be adhered to to make yourself intelligible to your listeners until things are accepted and incorporated over time. We condemn things too much here while we should be free to live freely. In native English-speaking countries words are created on the street, in offices, etc. You can't find them in any dictionary now but over time they creep in there. Over-correctness will always run you into trouble. For example, 'trafficate' is a Nigerian creation, but I was surprised recently to find it in a Livio dictionary app with an explanation that it is a Nigerian alternative way of saying 'signal your direction' when driving. What's bad in trafficating to the right or to the left to avoid being the baddest chap? Be yourself, be the bestest man!

Well, I'm a South African and one thing about us black South Africans is that we like learning about other people's languages and cultures.
Jokes! A xenophobic country doesn't learn about others.

If African artists can do hip hop and RnB, then why can't Chris Brown qualify to do Afrobeats?

And since when does doing a music genre has anything to do with parental links? Besides, his father is black and black American ancestry is mostly located in both West and Central Africa.

If you see him dancing to the song with those African dance moves, you guys will be tempted to give him Nigerian citizenship, a piece of land, and some fine Nigerian ladies for him to enjoy... grin grin grin... I'm suspecting that he has an ancestral calling from his West African ancestors...😂😂😂

Samantha is only my nairaland name.

Okay, you're entitled to your own opinion then.
nesphil:
I don't believe you.

If your claim of liking to learn about other people's culture is true,
how come you guys are xenophobic huh?

How can you fear what you know about?
How can you develop fear for what you have good knowledge about?

I believe if black South Africans have good knowledge of other Africans and their culture as other Africans have about them,
they won't be xenophobic.

I was the classroom teacher, a linguist too.

Baddest is colloquial, never formal, especially now.
