bis mission was to die for the sin of man kind, was didn't go to the Cross to try to save himself, i would have been pointless if he had saved himself without fulfilling his mission, just like going to work in the morning and you want to or try to stop yourself from going to work then still expect the work to do itself if you return back home in the morning
