Samantha125:😌😌 Yeah.. btw, shooter's genre is rnb/soul not afrobeat ... Afrobeat is determined by the beat of the song .. you only tell afrobeat that way.. the song has a south African feel than a Nigerian ... Listen bro the intro . |
| Re: Word Used By Nigerians But Not Found In The Dictionary? by Samantha125(f): 9:39pm On Dec 29, 2024 |
I think it's a fusion of RnB and Afrobeat. I know he sampled a voice of this SA high school girl for the song... But at the same time, it sounds like it could be a fusion of RnB and Afrobeat, because it's obviously not amapiano. Silentgroper: |

Samantha125:i said earlier , afrobeat is determined by the beat , not the sound ... Nigerian song are basically rnb but the best style is what makes it afrobeat .. same goes for amapiano, the beat is what gives it that definition .. Now listen to the shooter's beat .. there is nothing afrobeat about it .. I believe South African has more than just the amapiano genre... |

Music is dynamic... Even our amapiano sound can vary depending on the producer. For example, Tyla's amapiano sound is different from Focalistic's amapiano sound, the same way Focalistic's amapiano is different from Master KG's amapiano... Tyla's amapiano is a fusion of pop and amapiano, while Focalistic's amapiano is a fusion of kwaito and amapiano, and Master KG's amapiano is a fusion of lekompo and amapiano. As a Limpopian myself, most of the time I can tell when an amapiano beat was produced by someone from Limpopo without even knowing the person. I'm sure if Chris Brown was singing in pidgin in the shooter song, you were going to claim it as Afrobeat, but he also added his American touch to it... And if it sounds South African, then which genre of SA music would you classify it under? Because you can't just say it sounds more South African without having no knowledge of which genre of music can you pin it under. Silentgroper: |
| Re: Word Used By Nigerians But Not Found In The Dictionary? by Silentgroper(m): 9:39am On Dec 30, 2024 |
Samantha125:Right... But he did sing a few lines in pidgin ... I wouldn't know what genre cause I have no knowledge of any other south African music genre apart from amapiano .. but I do listen to other music from there that is not amapiano .. I mean this one here used to be my favourite until the likes of nasty c and aka https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_Lv7PedBIU&pp=ygUGI2lsdWxv I think I might want to agree with you it's a fusion ... The chorus sounds like it's lojay's voice there. So yeah, maybe there's a little stint of afrobeat in it but it's not an afrobeat song .. The beat is already a judge of that ... |
| Re: Word Used By Nigerians But Not Found In The Dictionary? by Samantha125(f): 10:03am On Dec 30, 2024 |
Which lines did he sing in pidgin? I know that song word for word and I don't remember coming across pidgin. Easy to love is South African house music. Maybe we can say that he got the inspiration from both SA and Nigeria when making that song and added his American touch to it. Speaking of Lojay, I'm really disappointed in that guy... He hit us with a surprise at the Chris Brown concert and I was really excited to see him perform Monalisa, given that we weren't even expecting him to be at the concert... But his performance wasn't what I expected, it was lacking and I can't help but feel like Chris Brown saved the performance, it's like he was nervous or something... But Monalisa is a great song either way. Silentgroper: |
| Re: Word Used By Nigerians But Not Found In The Dictionary? by Silentgroper(m): 10:28am On Dec 30, 2024 |
Samantha125:😁😁😁 You're right .. they weren't pidgin ... He said "only fvck things with Choco" but I thought it was "only for things wey choke oo" And the other part where he said "who are you, who are you, what's your name" I thought those were " who born you, who born you" what's your name?? 😁😁😁 .. Hahaha .. I 've been singing those lines like that for a very long time lol .. I guess it's because I've Never had a reason to check out the lyrics but they really sounded like pidgin .. 😁😁 .. Yep , I knew about the house music genre, I just couldn't remember .. That bucie song was an addiction at some point 😁 .. At the bolded, that's definitely what happened ... Lojay must've been anxious, probably got nervous seeing that much crowd. It's something that amongst these upcoming artiste. Did he perform monalisa?? Or the one with davido"sensational" You like monalisa , that's cool.. What about Samantha, do you like that too?? |

Lmao...🤣🤣🤣... You created your own lyrics... Reminds me of back in the day when he just released loyal, some of us would constantly change the lyrics to " these girls ba nloya" meaning these girls are bewitching me. That's why it's important to check the lyrics of any song that you like before you start singing along... I always do that even if it's a Sepedi song...😅😅😅 Maybe Lojay was afraid that we were going to xenophobia him on stage...🤣🤣🤣... It's possible it was his first time performing here in SA and given the large crowd as well. He performed Monalisa together with sensational. I don't know any song by the name Samantha. Samantha125:hahahaha .. loyal .. one of my favorite too ... How long have you been Chris brown fan ?? What's his oldest song you could remember, do not use Google🤗🤗. just think of one off your head .. For me I'd say yeahx3 and turn up the music.. The latter used to be fav ... I hardly find the need to google lyrics except in rap music.. I pride myself in being able to hear what they say when listening to slow songs or christ brown like songs.. it's the reason I like seeing English spoken movies without subtitles.. Lol .. nah, I don't think that was it .. he had davido and chris brown, you guys wouldnt do that else yall wanna ruin the show ... He was probably overwhelmed, large crowd and all ... I bet if he gets a next time, he'd perform better .. Samantha by tekno .. do you know tekno?? Some guy mentioned it to you some days back on one thread .. I've also mentioned it to you the last time you were here before you deactivated.. I remembered I sang(wrote) the song(lyrics ) to you when i was tryna 🤗🤗🤗🤗 you know what 🤗🤗🤗 .. lol 😌😌 .. |

I've been a fan since primary school... The first song that I ever liked from him was run it, there was this kids program that I liked watching back then called Crazy, they'd usually play the song there... That's how I became a fan. He then first came to SA in 2007 and briefly acted on one of our weekly soap opera called Generations, I was still in primary, but the entire class went crazy... We talked about him for almost a whole week...😂😂😂 You hardly find the need to google the lyrics, yet you changed Chris Brown's lyrics into pidgin...🤣🤣🤣 I learnt Zulu by watching Zulu programs and reading the subtitles. I'm just joking... There was no way we were going to let our money go into waste by ruining the concert... Some of us were even drunk in love and busy fantasising about what we could never have, I just pity those guys who went together with their wives and girlfriends...🤭🤭🤭 I never checked the Samantha song, maybe I should...😏😏😏 Silentgroper: |

Samantha125:run it .. i had to use Google help on this .. turns out I know the song .. you seem like a more hardcore chris brown fan than I am 😌😌😌 ... He acted?? Woah ... So ya'll and Chris brown have got history .. maybe he's of south African descent 🥴🥴 🤗🤗🤗 It was just a few lines , not the whole lyrics 😁😁 .. If you were really conversant with pidgin, you'd really think he spoke pidgin there , I swear and since he had lojay on the song, he could really be flexing with pidgin .. Zulu must be that easy... If you could grasp it by just seeing a program and reading subtitles on it .. I on the other hand doesn't even know how to speak any other languages other than mine ... Even If i watch shows on them with subtitles, I still wouldn't.. I've only been making slight headways with Spanish but it's just regular words , i cant string a sentence in it . . As for the indigenous ones like igbo and hausas and the rest, I can't speak nada ... Even though I come across people that speak them everyday .. You couldn't have just learnt Zulu over programs, I feel like you would have had friends fluent in Zulu to have helped you out.. Lol ... You were fantasizing 🤗🤗🤗 , oh great... I couldn't imagine what would have befalled breezy if you all had played your hands on him .. Poor Chris breezy, he would've been distraughted or would've been a good experience for him .. 😁😁😁 |
