I also farm and only buy few essentials from the market. Subsistence farmimg is the way to go in Nigeria but the masses are lazy waiting for govt to do everythimg which their mum and dad failed to do for them.

In a street of 20 houses, let's assume 15 of them grow fresh pepper... What will happen to the price of pepper around that area

Back in those days, after kids come from school, they join their parents and go to the farm to weed...

That was how some of us learnt how to eat roasted yam and plantain...
We never bought from the road side

But the people of these days choose to be on social media day and night waiting for the government to spoon feed them rather than lookin for a way to solve their immediate problems....

I farm small scale and large scale in Osun state,it is true we face herders clash from time to time but i will never give up farming because of some nuisance.The police come in form time to time to settle the matter and they pay compensation.
If all southerners form ourselves into groups to safeguard our farm assets no Fulani herder will overpower you,Instead they will run away from us because of the power of numbers.
the herdesr recently encroached my farm to feed their cows my maize farm,we are on top of the situation.If we all stop farming because of herders we can all starve to death in our home and allow herders take over our God given land,

If you’re not a farmer by profession, your everyday food should not come from your backyard. Your earnings should be able to buy your food.

In fact a day’s work should be sufficient to buy groceries for a week. Then you can pay taxes and have savings with what you make in 4 remaining days of the week.

This government is glorifying hardship.

You continue to overlook the glaring failures of the government. Without the right to possess firearms, how can ordinary citizens possibly defend themselves against armed herders? While the police may occasionally come to your aid, do you truly believe that every struggling peasant farmer enjoys such privilege? If we persist in ignoring the government’s inadequacies—despite the billions allocated to them—then we are, in effect, enabling these politicians to shirk their responsibilities.
