It's actually possible. Throats can expand to accommodate different kinds of substances. The processing of it is very slow in the intestines thou. It can take months to get to a place of rest. I once swallowed a whole crown cork of a bottle that was not bent at all during 300 level. It got stuck at my throat for about 2 hours, so I passed it down gradually with lots of drinks and meat.
