The digestive system of babies at that age is still forming hence the issues passing gas and pooing, it's common in babies. You can try massaging the baby's tummy lightly to help release the trapped gas and poo. (watch videos on how to do this and do it cautiously) If done well, the baby can pass poo and gas even while you are massaging. Also, watch what you eat as a breastfeeding mom, take lots of water and fruits as this will pass into the breastmilk and help soften the baby's poo. These techniques are what worked for me. As the baby grows older, the digestive system will mature as well and most issues will resolve.

Good morning all, my baby seems to be struggling with poo. He is gassy, strains a lot, raises his leg up towards his belly and his face turns red. This most times disturbs his sleep. Also, his stomach makes sound at times. Don't know if it is colic that is disturbing him.

Someone advised that we get nospamin while another recommended another drop, is this safe for a 6 weeks old baby? Cus I saw a few people on Facebook and twitter saying that both of them can have harmful effects on a baby

Thank you so much for your response ma. As for the duphaston, the gynaecologist recommended it and asked me to continue taking it until week 13, though I didn't ask him the reason why he prescribed it.

oh well... He probably saw something b4 prescription because the medication is for women who may likely miscarry... Ask lots of questions when u go 4 ur next appointment with ur gynaecologist n stay away from sex for a while till ur pregnancy is at d stage u wont be scared.

I bought mine Wednesday
7k per park of 100. That’s like 70 naira each

She said it’s 8-10am Tuesday to Thursday
At ifako, Gbagada and island maternity

I met her again for the second time that Wednesday

ur baby is obviously struggling with colic which is totally normal 4 newborns... U cn only use one of the two medicine above n not together... Nospamin is good... These medicine work to help babies relieve demselve of gas building up in their stomach.... They will be completely be ok by 3 or 4months old when their stomach is fully developed.

For delivery, you can try customs hospital. The matrons there are very experienced.

I don't have a good experience with this place and people around the area also don't have good to say. There is a customs hospital in Karu aside other good private hospitals. Although I am not too familiar with that axis but I recommend Asokoro general hospital better because of their approach to emergency.

I don't know about the other hospitals you mentioned but karshi general too is good.

Mothers in the house ; my wife did exclusive for our baby, after 7 months, I bought peak milk [zero to one] for her but whenever we give her this milk she will be feeling discomfort until she vomit the milk. Pls who has experience this and how did you handle it?
Am thinking of buying NAN but my fear is that she may not take it or compatible with her body system.
She doesn't eat any other food apart from breast milk. She will be 9 months soon

the milk is not sitting well in ur child's stomach... Some babies are like dt... Its either dey develop allergy to baby milk or d milk create colic in babies stomach hence d vomit... Y dont u guys introduce solid to ur baby... Like introducing different types of porridges... Making banana porridge, potato porridge, oat porridge, carrot n so on... N if u think d stress maybe too much preparing them... Buy already made onces like cerelac, cornflakes (mk sure u turn the cornflakes to powder and add water n little milk to it), golden morn... Rice porridge, nutribom is also there... U have so many options on ur plate bro...

Dont go cold turkey on weaning ur child yet... Start with introducing new baby food n introducing some quantities of baby milk to d porridges mentn above... N wen ur baby get used to the milk u introduce... U can then stop breastfeeding... Mind u, if ur child still show signs of not settling with d milk... Just try and buy baby milk that is ment for babies that have milk allergy or colic... They are available if u look 4 them.
