A former presidential Special Adviser on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, has said President Bola Tinubu is not the right man to rule Nigeria at this point in time

Ojudu said having worked closely with Tinubu in the past, he feels his philosophy does not put him in the best position to be Nigeria’s current president.

He disclosed this while featuring on Edmund Obilo’s podcast ‘State Affairs’ on Monday evening.

The former presidential aide also described former Vice president Yemi Osinbajo as ‘a visionary’.

According to Ojudu, Osinbajo would have taken Nigeria to greater heights.

He said: “This country would have gone places with him if he had the opportunity but it didn’t happen

"I’m not Emi Lokan, I feel that having worked and related closely with the principal of Emi Lokan and worked at the National Assembly and presidency myself, I just feel that the philosophy of Emi Lokan was not appropriate at this time.

“Osinbajo was the best person to govern Nigeria at that time having seen him up close.

“Osinbajo is a visionary and let me tell you this, whoever is going to run this country successfully must not be an individual, he must be one person working within a group of people who have the same vision as him.

"You can’t just be a president and have a useless Inspector General of Police, have a useless head of Customs or Immigration or Chief Justice of Nigeria, everybody must sign on to your ideals, ideas, and visions.”

I listened to this particular radio interview, truth be told, I initially supported osinbajo even though it don't like APC, but he wasn't the choice of APC

Nigeria is a very tough country to rule.

What elites in a normal country will do is to back that so-called lightweight because they put country first, not personal selfish interests.

I don't support any of these guys but as woeful as Buhari's performance was, an Osinbajo was better to replace him. You talk as if Osinbajo wasn't acting President for a few days and the body language Lai Muhammed waa claiming his principal had, it took an acting Sheriff in town to show us. The rest is history and we know why the lightweight was never given power again by the heavyweights who had nothing to offer but their weight.
Nigerians still have the Stockholm syndrome with military rule, that's why they need a BDSM partner to put them in order.

everything is not grab and run away with it. You can't give what you don't have. Tinubu cannot inspire Nigerians, no matter how they paint it. Yes, he is a Good politician, strategic and all that but e get why IBB house be like Mecca for aspirants. Sometimes, you need to take the backseat. Put country first. Everything in leadership is not force, sometimes your words alone will inspire people. Had they given Osinbajo the ticket, Obi wouldn't have had the number of votes neither would Atiku.

Nigerians themselves are problems to their country, No president has never done well when in power in the eyes of ordinary Nigerian s.

So nobody should come and tell us one man is better than the others. When Buhari was losing elections year in year out we thought he will be the president we never had untill they gave him the baton, the mumu wasted more than half of a year to constitute cabinet, saw presidency as a gift to his cronies , couldn't attract FDI, borrow borrow until China said enough, building useless railway tracks , crippled the economy.

The same person that criticized those previous governments day and night.

At the end he said he has done his best.
