Good afternoon Nairalanders,

Despite the hard economy, I decided to make it a challenge to save some small extra change I see from my side hussle from May 2024 - December 2024.

This is what i was aable to save in my piggy 🐷 bank

1. N500 note (N47,000)
2. N1,000 note (N35,000)

Total is N82,000.

I had to make sure I look for the new note because I don't want to hear stories that the old note have been ban from usage...

I plan to go again this year, with a target of 1million as my spending burden have been relieved now

Yes, but its just a trial savings, and again, it better to be in a piggy bank than in the real bank, because the wat the banks are deducting charges these days, you might end up not even have up to this amount 😀

The money I spent on data alone in 3 months is more than this

And this one might be in a relationship suffering someone's daughter instead of hustling

Lol...this is barely up to $50. All these stress to save $50 in 365 days Naira, truly has no value!

When I started sayings money from January to December that was when I realized to build house or buying cars is by grace of God. All my expectations thought was to save up to 300k but when I break the box the money is just 72,500 naira....

Saving money is scam.
Build systems/means to earn more.
High value skills you can leverage on.
Buy Assets. Multiple source of income. Innovate. Be positive. Network with the wealthy.
invest in what you know.
Spend less than you earn.
Acquire useful knowledge.

Avoid negative people. Know your value.
Your networth will skyrocket.

Money should be put to work

In other words, money should be invested, not saved

Saving is a poor man's mentality

Smart Investment is the rich man's mentality

Even the Bible recognizes this basic money principle

Until inflation is tamed, saving is not a flex.

There are things I put off buying that are now out of my reach for the time being.

Stingy people do this. Why punish myself if I’ll get paid at the end of the month? I spend or invest. Saving is out of style.
