bixton:Examples! Examples!! Examples!!! The first and second sets of corrupt people to be hanged or sent to a firing squad would set a great example and the ultimate deterrence. NPF would not need to collect money if they were paid well and on time. No serious police officer would want to jeopardize his or her job/life if the job pays well and the consequence for illegal activity is very high. The system does not need to be perfect, it only needs to have a solid foundation. If people can be set ablaze for stealing tomatoes or maggi, what stops the nation from applying the same hing to people who steal the destiny of millions of people? |

Prof. Osinbajo can't lead this country and make necessary reforms the way PVAT is doing.. no hating on the man but that is just the truth. The Jagaban of the Universe has the capacity, has made influential men within and outside Nigeria so he has that "boss" vibe compared to PYO. He would have been another GEJ that North would be using to shine. |

This is a treasonable statement capable of inviting violence. But this msis if Tinubu becomes president he would return to his farm and remain there. Why the sudden reawakening? It was democracy that screened his man out. He should stop disturbing the polity with his utterances. We have enough issues to grapple with. Tinubu has not spent two years. He will spend 4 years. So let them who are not satisfied go hug transformers. Our issues now should be how to make Tinubu administration by pointing out loopholes in their policies not outright condemnation. Look for genuine loopholes and suggest what can work. I am not a friend of this administration too anyway but the deed was done at the general elections |

abbey621:All over the world there will always be people who work in government agencies that will not be paid well.... Also note that it's not about whether someone is paid well or not, it's about integrity of which many of us in the country lack..... You see those sets of people who set on fire those who steal tomatoes, pepper and maggi, will not do same to their relatives who are in government offices who do worse, they will be the ones to protect them. Are these not the same set of people who at first collect monies as political party delegates to elect an aspirant who may not even be the best and then at the national elections do the same thing. |

IfnobeGod20:Tinubu did not win from the NW axis but from the SW/NC/NE axis (go and study the data). Except for the 1999 election that the NW voted for Obasanjo, they've only voted for one of their own (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023). So, no, the NW did not make Tinubu the president. |

This man is a true omooluabi. Read what he said: "You can’t just be a president and have a USELESS INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE, have a USELESS HEAD OF CUSTOMS OR IMMIGRATION OR CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA,...” So apart from cowardice, uselessness is now a trait of the tribalists from the SadWaste region. This is a revelation that needs further consideration. Irè O! |

bixton:That is why it needs to be enshrined in the Constitution in which no president or figure can repeal! Integrity is lost when survival becomes paramount, you can preach moral and integrity to someone starving but you won't have the same effect as someone who gives him or her FOOD! The money saved from corruption can be set towards economical growth and prosperity, this is how China did it and my goodness it is MAGNIFICENT! |

michroskrve:Where was Tinubu when Buhari that he endorsed took the country under? Was he afraid to call him out for his own selfish ambitions? Was he afraid to upset the stage he designed? Or you have forgotten how Tinubu encouraged us to vote Buhari to solve our problems then kept quiet when things were going wrong? So much for a visionary. So much for a progressive party and party politics. Tinubu my foot too. He is not different from Obsinajo and other members in APC who saw things going wrong in their party but could not call it out. It's only a matter of time before the merger of interests show what they were merged for. CPC has finished their own under Buhari, Tinubu is doing his ACN turn. It's only a matter of time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2kmeucCGAc |

abbey621:All these things you're saying is right but those who are responsible for writing or amending the constitution will not do what you're saying as long as it will affect them. We need to nigerianize our own to fit the time, season and mentality of the people who govern and those governed. |

Rubbish talks as usual. Buhari and Tinubu are infrastructure visionaries. They have this believe as Nkrumah. Don't give the masses the milk they want today. Let them make the little or no milk they have today. They won't die. Rather build the ranches and factories that will produce better milk for local consumption and exports to earn revenue tomorrow. With the way Nigeria is going, it's just a matter of time before we get to the promise land. Osinbajo won't have had the balls to face the Northern elites, dismantle the Governors forum chokehold on local government autonomy and allow them breath and get their allocations directly, dismantle the oil cabals that made Nigeria a net importer of refined petroleum products, etc. He would have been another balless GEJ. We need a man with a ball of steel at this time. Like it or not. My prayer is that the tax reform bill comes to stay. We will indeed pay more in taxes and the likes. But Nigeria will be better for it on the long run as the states will have to become productive or die of debt and bankruptcy. No more free money from Abuja. It's only a man with the balls of steel that van do this. Nigerians don't need a weak listening president. They will make a mess of him like they did GEJ. We need a man with the balls of steel to get this done.. And it's that simple. I am a diehard fan of President Tinubu. Just as I was with Buhari.. Go bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless PBAT and God bless us all. Shalom. |

abbey621:Mr. Man, no amount of money paid to greedy individuals can make them not to collect bribe. Since the time of Buhari policemen salary has improved. The lowest paying in police is collecting over 100k. That's level 3. A school cert person but that have not stopped them from collecting bribe till date. All we need in the country is national orientation and contentment. If Nigerians are contented, public officials would not be embezzling public patrimony. If you like pay Nigerians 1m monthly, it wouldn't stop them financially corrupting themselves. That's just the nature of Nigerians. Putting mercenary in place for checking and balance. Yes, no doubt if people are punished for their wrong doing that would serve as deterrent to others but can nepotism allow us to do that? In Nigeria will don't do things holistically, that has been our greatest undoing. Punishing one and freeing another or look elsewhere is one of the problems we are facing in this country. |

dalitigator:Let me first start with this much rejoice celebration of the local government autonomy. If you think the LGAs will truly enjoy autonomy without the alteration of the constitution, especially section 162. If that section is still embedded in the constitution, the state governors will still find away of dancing round it. Going through the backdoor to tinker with the constitution will never work. Even his Lagos State will be part of the states that will go against the pronouncement of the supreme court because of the creation of LCDAs, as those LCDAs must survive. I hope you read last week that they would still conduct election for those LCDAs along the LGAs. Till the right thing is done, the money accrued to the LGAs will still be shared among the LGAs and LCDAs till the rightful thing is done but not through backdoor. You guys better stop celebrating anticonstitution and let the right thing be done, as no country will grow with strong individual but strong institution. The way you people are elevating Tinubu as the alpha and the Omega forgetting that Tinubu will never be there for life, that is better to build strong institution than to build strong leader. Nigeria will never grow with such mentality. Meanwhile, some of you the way you think is worrisome. So the problem of the country is all about north and not Nigerians. The last time I checked , everyone that have been ripping off this country are people from both south and north. Today if an investigation is carried out in any parastatal on graft, those that will be involved would be both northerners and southerners. Southerners have been willing tools to surchange the nation, same way the northerners have been willing tools to surchange the nation. Yes, no doubt, the northerner always crave for positions but that is not the problem of the nation but those manipulating and surchanging the nation are the real problem of the nation. Besides, removal of fuel subsidy at the detriment of the downtrodden is the most unwise decision that have been made by any leader in this country. No serious leader punish her citizens because of the few so called cabal. If a leader can because of few people punished the whole nation, that is a sign of irresponsible leader. Instead of dealing with those cabal, it difficult for them but easy to deal with the downtrodden. Did you know that the removal of the fuel subsidy had dipped many citizens to more poverty than bargained for because of the attendant increase in the price of virtually all goods and services. People now find it difficult to meet daily needs and their coping capacity is now very low. When we told them then, that fix the moribund refineries to fizzle out the subsidy, many of you were abusing us and calling us wailing wailers but today our words are justified. One would now ask, who is the wailing wailer, if not you people that were attacking contrary opinion? As I always say, those saying the truth about the country are the real patriotic citizens because they want the best for the country while those of you only hailing the government in power are the real unpatriotic citizens because you refused to tell the government the real issue on ground. |
