The whole country has been abuzz with excitement in the last few weeks, as the long comatose refineries began roaring back to life after decades of inactivity.

In all the national brouhaha, excitement, backslapping and fist-bumping, there has been one sinister observation

...the silence of Peter Gregory Obi.

One would have expected that as somebody who claims to care for the masses, he would be jumping with excitement and relief over the rejuvenated refineries.

Instead, the reverse is the case.

Total silence.

Is it that he is not happy that the refineries are now working?

Can those closest to him ask him?

You get car at all?

How much were Nigerians paying for fuel when the refineries had not been revamped, and how much are they paying now that you claim the refineries have been revamped, for which you expect Peter Obi to congratulate Tinubu?

On what basis?

How many times did the PH refinery roar back to life & die almost immediately?? A sensible man knws he’ll only get his money’s worth when the transporter gets him to his desired location safely & not when the driver starts the car. But it’s totally understandable that people who can borrow money to throw a lavish party but can’t borrow money to pay their children’s sch fees, will see every propaganda as an achievement, even wen it has no alleviating effect on their personal economy.
