U know ball!

That Kennis Easter fiesta produced a lot of super stars . Some young up and coming musicians got signed after their performances at the easter fiesta. I remember how we usually look forward to watching clips of the easter fiesta few weeks after easter when they air them bit by bit for weeks on Prime time Jamz.

Omo, there's just this nostalgic feeling that comes with reliving those memories. Almost everyday when I pass where Kurami beach used to be , I just shake my head because the future generation will never know where is now called Eko Atlantic city used to be Bar Beach and Kuramo beach where fun seekers go to have a nice time during festivities. Most younger generation won't know the number of stars that were made on the sandy beach.

Dokpesi really opened up that Alagbado axis at a time most people wouldn't go beyond Iyana Ipaja. The last time I was around AIT early December, I couldn't but marvel at how the whole place now looks like a city.

I get u, but some things are just so weird and u cant but wonder how somebody with functioning brain will express some distasteful opinion and be proud about it.

This morning, I saw a lengthy post on Facebook by all these emergency bloggers that are farming Mark Zuckerberg's money.

She was reacting to the Dj Kulet and her husband's marital issue that made the news last week. So DJ Kulet issued a disclaimer that she is no longer with her husband of 8 months because she discovered to be a randy man who has not only slept with anything in skirt but also slept with a 13-year-old minor under her roof. She released a video where the husband was confessing to the allegations and was blaming the devil. The mother of the minor was heard in the video trying to make a case for the randy DJ Kulet's husband and she seem not to be angry unlike DJ Kulet. The mother of the minor was willing to have the whole issue swept under the carpet and the randy husband 'forgiven'

Now back to the Facebook blogger's post, she was literally blaming DJ Kulet. She said DJ Kulet was wrong to have exposed her husband and should've known her husband likes to have sexx regularly. She blamed the wife for not always making herself available and being responsible for why the husband had to look outside for sexxual satisfaction. She also said after the wife found out about him sleeping with a minor, she should've prayed with her husband and further seek spiritual help for him. She said because the wife could not cover her husband's shame, no other man will be willing to marry her.

I was shocked that a human(not to mention a woman) would write all of that. I mean how did she exonerate the husband and then blamed the wife for his atrocious actions? The funny thing is even when people were challenging her in the comment section, she said that was her opinion on the matter and she's at liberty to share it on her page. I was too dumfounded to even react, I just read the post and jumped it past.
Two possibilities

If you go to the thread discussing the matter on this platform, there are literally several people defending and advocating for the guy. I have come to the conclusion that our culture sees absolutely nothing wrong with sleeping with underaged girls. And this goes beyond religion

The other possibility is rage bait. The more outrageous your stand the more engagement, the more clicks, the more views, more debate and therefore more monetization.

People want to be pissed off and annoyed and they will gravitate towards topics that will do this to tbem

Yes, kids weren't allowed back then, there was some level of decency back then. Not nowadays when u see people taking their kids to lounges and bars where hypeman will be saying things like " Na toto wey wet go make pablo commot money for pocket"...."Obough na Sugar Halleluyah"... all in the name of hype angry

Last week I was at a lounge and I saw some people came with their kids, in an area where some fun seekers were visibly smoking shishsa and other substances o. I just shake my head o

If you live in a state where there are opportunities to thrive outside of government patronage do not take it for granted.

This is not a bug, it is a feature of a large number of Nigerian states.

Even 9ice back then. A lot of people got to know 9ice when he did "Make Dem Talk" in 2006 or so (a social conscious song which is still relevant today, along with El Dee's 2007 "Me I Go Yarn"wink.
But I knew 9ice from the earlier 2000's as an upcoming artiste who performed at the AIT Easter Party and the Christmas fiesta.

Blueraydick, Naeto C's 2007 "Kini Big Deal" and the explosion of Mo'hit's Crew and P Square was the actual time Nigerian music went truly global and we ditched foreign music. The video quality by Sesan was awesome and was of U.S. standard. Those were our first true Nigerian international megastars.

2Face was doing his thing with Ghanaian artiste and Jamaican star "Beenie Man" then but it was mostly on the African stage. The guys I listed above took us completely intercontinental.

Then came Banky W, our answer to Craig David and Joe.

You are right, during dem 2face era it was mostly about doing tours in African countries like Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gambia, etc. It was more of an African continent thing. Aside from the fact that Kennis pay for Grammy's rights(which Keke addressed in the podcast) which they take their artistes to yearly, they weren't doing much outside the continent.

The Dbanj/Don Jazzy's set , Banky W's set and the rest of dem returnees opened up our music to the outside world. I think coming on board of indigenous music platforms like Soundcity and HipTV also played a major role.

Now we have Nigerian artistes like Davido, Rema, Burnaboy, Wizkid, etc filling up stadia and major concert halls in western countries like USA, UK, Australia, etc.

Keke mentioning that they would travel with Ghana-must-go full of CD's of their artistes anytime they travel abroad really made me realize how technology has now helped the new school artistes.

Erm, MiTV used to show Obesere music videos during the day though. One moment, you are watching the cooking show Sokoyokoto on a Sunday afternoon while your parents are out for functions or to some place and the next you are seeing Cozzy Orjiakor's boobs on full display with Obesere spanking her and other almost nude girls.

Bewildered kids gawking at the TV and too mesmerized by adult stuff to bring themselves to even change the channel.

Where did u see 70k x 4 weeks? 😏

The job simply says 50-70k salary meaning the person will earn between 50k and 70k for a whole month.

While 70k might seem fair for a job that does not require any tertiary education qualification like B.sc or HND, the work hours is actually not so cool.

A typical work hours as recognized by international.labor organization is 40hours per week ( i. e 8 hours daily x 5 working days in a week.)This job however requires u to work 54 hours a week (i. e 9 hours daily x 6 working days in a week). I believe that is what Izzou is reacting to. Paying minimum wage for a job that requires one to work 14 extra hours weekly is actually cheating but like u rightly said, Naija na shiiit hole.

The best thing is to not allow kids in lounges. Kids have photographic memories and will always try to practsise what they see adults doing.

And kids can so embarrass person ehn..... Imagine having guests in Ur house and Ur kid starts saying some of the slangs he heard the hype man at the lounge saying. grin

I didn't read the job description, I only saw Izzou's post, hence why I concluded from it. From the post it said the 70k was for a week, so when I times it by roughly 4 weeks that makes up a month, the amount is quiet reasonable.

But, however, I didn't know the number of hours the person was supposed to work was that much. People work longer than that number of hours in Naija and still earn paltry sums at the end of the month.

A friend of mine lives on the mainland & works on the island. The girl comes back roughly around 9pm on most days due to traffic depsite the office closing by 5pm and she leaves by 5:30am every day to meet up on time at work. She doesn't earn up to 150k a month. That offer is it not better than hers?

[color=royalblue]It is a month, not a week. An error on my part.

I don't know how 30k, 70k a month is good for someone that works 6 days a week, from morning to evening. I mean, you spend all the productive hours of your life a month for 2,900 a day.

Although I know he won't come to the podcast to talk about the unfavorable contracts they may have given to some of the artistes under them, but one must credit them for paving the way while others never thought Nigerian music can ever get a global appeal. I mean the South Africans had a head start with DSTV's Channel O available to put their sounds out there, yet Naija still caught up with them with the indefatigable work of Kennis Music.

This job is not better than your friend's and I will tell u why.

Your friend definitely resumes 8am and closes 5pm (These are the official hours) , meaning she works 40 hours a week (i.e 8 hours daily x 5 days a week). She coming back leaving 5am and coming back 9pm is not peculiar to her; it happens to almost all workers who work on the Island and reside on the mainland or outskirts of Lagos.

Your friend works official 40 hours a week and gets paid close to 150k which is way over the minimum wage. If u notice, the job advert izzou reacted to carefully require that the candidates should stay within a particular axis. If anybody not staying within that axis applies, they will be worse off than ur friend because they will spend majority of the meagre 70k on transport fare and stay considerable hours in traffic like ur friend.

This particular podcast appearance by Keke has changed my mindset about some things. Before now, I always believe when people say shiiit about u and know it is not true, u should not dignify such person with response and just allow them to wallow in their self delusion; sooner or later the person will tire out and people will forget whatever nonsense that person says about u.

However, I have learnt from this 2face vs Blackface story that when u allow a person so much shiiit about u and don't address it on time, people will tend to believe that shiiit over time and see u as a bad person.

For so many years most of thought 2face did Blackface dirty by stealing African queen they co-wrote , made it into a best selling music and never gave credit to Blackface while blackface was down and facing serious financial challenge. Now Keke is coming out with fact acknowledging that the song was registered in the name of 2face and Blackface from inception. If this fact had been put out back then, all those pity party Blackface was faming would've gone to dust.

I'm sure a lot of people sided with Blackface seeing 2face from the lens of a wicked friend who took credit for a joint work and never bothered to help his "brother" when he was down. His silence did more harm than good. I understand Kele saying because he was an employee back then and was always on radio everyday, he didn't want to be having a rofo-rofo fight with Blackface, but 2face should've addressed the issue long time ago.

Although I know 2face's commercial success must have really affected Blackface mentally sha.
People generally support the underdog even if they know the story is faulty. They saw Blackface as the underdog
