The removal of subsidy has discouraged the cabals in the petroleum sector. Now, the resultant effect is that the refineries that had been previously written off are now coming back to life. It would not have happened if we're still paying for subsidy |

[quote author=Mune post=133567168]Port Harcourt refinery is not functioning as being propagated. The Warri refinery was functioning at the current phase when Kyari decided to shut it down for overhaul. Now same Kyari has decided to direct for it to resume operations without the completion of the overhaul. All this is being done because Kyari wants to get the President favour for tenure extension and also to justify the over $2b spent on this overhaul. You are a man that has a working cerebral matters. Go to the head of the class...Na man you be!!! |

Mune:Agreed, Kyari is about to go on retirement, even in Management, somebody can continue to be on Extension, for years, without changing,if he is doing well! Do you change a winning Football team ⚽ on the Field? |

I have to admit, Tinubu has surpassed my expectations with these refineries he's bringing to life. Even if we argue that Buhari started the process, we also have to admit that a callous successor would have abandoned the projects, as is habitual with Nigerian politicians. I'm impressed on this one issue. |

Biodun556:The comprehensive modernization of all the four NNPC refineries actually started during Buhari’s administration but thanks to Tinubu for not abandoning them, which is typical of most Nigerian governments. |

Bluntemperor:You are comparing apples and oranges here! No matter how well a winning team is doing, at some certain times, a new set will eventually takeover! Meaning, you can't rely on the same team forever without giving others a building foundation to start from. I don't really believe he is doing well. During his tenure, Nigeria were exposed to one of the worst period of fuel scarcity and constant promises. In fact, even Kyari himself knew that Nigeria see them as liars with their constant false promises. Look I have no problem with Kyari at all, but I don't believe in a packaging to bamboozle the masses. He did the same packaging for Buhari in Bauchi and up to now the oil field in Bauchi and Gombe remain idle. At that time, we believe his packaging very well but not anymore |

Until we buy fuel fuel for N200 as an oil producing nation this is all bull shit. Only fools are moved . |

This is the reason why I strongly believe in Tinubu leadership style. He's a visionary leader. Hopefully, may God continue to guide him aright in governing Nigeria. |

Tayorshd87:The subsidy removal process was hasty and wrong, reason it has occasioned scorching hardship on the average Nigerian, but the truth remains that petrol subsidy had to go. Man just goofed when he didn't put the proper shock absorbers in place before throwing away the subsidy and floating the currency. |

nellybank86:The reason why the refineries are working is because subsidy has gone. That means that NNPC can attract financing for refinery work, simply because petrol and everything else will be sold at a profit. As at 2012, we had 60 people ready to go with refinery licences. All the government needed to do then was to totally remove subsidy, and things would have been moving. But as you know, subsidy remained, and no one wanted to build refinery. Dangote was able to build refinery because he had the kind of collateral that made the banks comfortable, inspite of the subsidy being in existence. The thing is, removal of subsidy means that petrol can now be sold at a profit. That makes it more attractive to refine fuel at home. |

Umuinyioku:The new lease of life is coming as a result of removal of subsidy. No more finding constraints. No more corruption. Pure competition and commercial decision. Many will love to have build refinery in Nigeria. That means more employment opportunities. |
