Where people own assets forever and pass on to generations. Where people own and not in debt for basics.
That was before o. Now everybody is in debt for basics. Ask loan apps, they will give you facts and figures. No thanks to Buhari and Tinubu who made us borrow borrow like themselves cheesy

Most of the luxury cars he is seeing are the proceeds of crime. You don’t have to become a criminal scamming people online to drive a luxurious car in a western country as good credit takes care of that as long as you are working . He should visit Abuja. Lagos is an unplanned chaotic city , full of traffic jams, no drainages, loud noise and those smelly black water dirty creeks a simple water management expertise would have easily taken care. He should have visited the serene villages of Oshun, Oshogbo, Ado ekiti , Akure, Ibadan villages to enjoy Nigeria

Those that do remote job here in Nigeria and are paid in Dollars or pounds most notably will enjoy our economy the most because of the exchange rate. Our naira has a low purchasing power that's why foreigners seems to enjoy themselves a lot in this country. Also our media need to project the better side of Nigeria for these foreigners to bring in their money into this country most especially in tourism so that we can have more dollars and pounds in the system.

You are diverting from my point. While you are alive, it is useful to you. It’s not generational except you are in the top 1%

Yes, you will use credit to achieve a lot, get loans and build good cash flow. What happens to your good debt after your demise? You think those kids will take responsibility for it coupled with theirs? I do real Estates in two countries apart from Nigeria and know very much about what I am talking about

I never said credit is not good, I am talking about survival after your demise.

My mum left 3 houses for me in Lagos, I have never paid a dine or neither is it a financial burden upon me. It takes absolutely nothing for me. I have held properties for over 10 years that cost me nothing to hold on to. Does that apply in US? You creating more burden EXCEPT you super rich. When the devil wants to mess you up, a big development comes to your neighborhood and taxes go haywire, what happens? You are forced to sell cos you cannot meet up. Yes, you are at profit, but cannot hold for long.

Do you know the tax implication of the house Tyson sold to Rick Ross, he had to cos he was going broke. Imagine if his son inherited that house, he def will be selling it. That’s how it happens. The tax keeps going up and when you cannot meet up, it’s gone.

In Nigeria, with just C of O, you can hold 1 million acres without any burden. A generation will live off it without paying a dine. Why is very easy to build generational wealth in Nigeria cos it comes with little to no implications. My great grandfathers house that I never knew is still standing and the family pays nothing.
Nobody sells a house because of tax. That’s the point I’m trying to show you. They sell the house because they are broke and need cash. Value is better than cash but then it isn’t cash. Someone who is broke will not get a good loan so the only option may be to sell the house.

That’s the whole point of having a house in the first place. It gives you access to loans and bails you out with huge cash when you make financial mistakes.

Debt is written off when someone dies unless there are asserts to recover. It is not passed on. That’s why rich men take debt, because it will help avoid taxes.

bla bla you accuse someone of cherry picking while you also cherry picked your information. According to you, everyone not financially in a good position in america is either an addict, poor or financial reckless of which it is not true.

you claimed property value always go up in price, that is not always true.

a recession could devalue a property.

And, how about people losing their jobs and going homeless

Stop acting like the credit system is the only way to get rich

In nigeria, people do not have access to credit but they save to own things and they own it even if it takes them 5-10 years to get what they want.

i can not say the same thing for an individual living in a credit based society, they literally own nothing and what they have can be collected from them once monthly payment is missed.
Saving money that is devaluing must be very intelligent lol. How many Nigerians have bought a new car before?

I’m not cherry picking information. I said compare the worst in America to the worst in Nigeria. In America the worst that can happen to you is debt and homelessness. In Nigeria you are denied healthcare for lack of funds, you suffer severe malnutrition.

Nigerians pay in full
Yes because its not easy to track debtors in Nigeria. Addresses are not standardised, no post code system, no good credit record companies who track all credit activities of people in the country. Above all, the law enforcement system and courts are not very good. Lenders resort to self help most times to get their debts back. These are some of the problems.

Incase you dont know or someone haven't told you, you are a fool for thinking every luxury car in Lagos are proceeds of crime...just because you are lazy, uneducated and not money wise doesn't mean everyone else is as dumb and poor as you....I know of someone in Adamawa (an aboki for that matter) that made over $100 million dollars (not naira) from forex last year, tell me, how many yahoo boys can make that much in a year? If you probably see that aboki driving a Luxury car in Lagos your empty head will say it is a proceed of crime abi? Mumu.

Dont compare your village with urban cities in Nigeria, travel more and leave that your poverty enshrined village to see things yourself like this American just did.

On point brother, the guy needs to travel more and think logically. The same thoughts that police men have that made them to be harassing every young man with good car is what he has too. He should go online and search modern way of getting rich and sustaining wealth and watch youtube videos.

yo! you are out of touch with reality.

1. Nigerians do not use dollars, so yeah they save in Naira, bank in naira, do businness in Naira and buy things in naira and they have been living well.

2. Nigerians save for what they can afford and not consumerism , that is why old car brands are very popular here, which they owned 100% and no debt.

you failed to mention that Nigerians can also afford lands, new houses all debt free, i can't say the same thing for an individual living in a credit based society.( a borrower is always a slave to the lender)

3. You claimed the worst that can happen to someone in the US is debt and homelessness, that is not true, you can also be denied medical care and insurance, why do you think the Unitedhealthcare Ceo was murdered?, you can also be denied good education and housing because of Redlining and also Denied opportunities because of your race.

4, you claimed people can be denied healthcare in nigeria because of lack of funds, do you realise that in Nigeria, there are nhs systems in place where you can get affordable medical care and lastly can you show me a picture of malnourished child in Nigeria?

Debt is not written off for mortgage. The house itself is the asset. You said no one sells a house because of tax? What happens when your property tax is ahead of your earnings for a house you bought when the property tax was low and you could afford it? That’s how people who buy tax liens make money. You could lose that house for not paying taxes. The government does not care whether you can or not, they will proceed with foreclosure in due time.

Millions sell homes when property taxes go haywire cos it adds a big chunk up their mortgage. Only reason property taxes won’t go up is when the zip code is retrogressing, meaning your property itself is not appreciating and losing value and no one hopes to invest in such area. Higher valuations=Higher property taxes. If does not care about affordability

Your property taxes can be $5000 per annum in triple witching a couple of years due to massive development, and nothing you can do about it. You can do about it. That’s the system, if you cannot keep up again, sell off.

Tax lien and foreclosures is an industry on it own. People readily waiting for defaulters.
